Great coverage of the Volo Museum. It was I who sent you your blue Goofy and red Mickey Mold-A-Rama figures. I wish I knew you were going to be there... would have loved to meet you. I checked just this fall to see if they changed molds, but as you saw they have the same 2.
Your coverage of Illinois outside Chicago is commendable. One could only hope you do the same for New York at some point and cover the North Country-- we're talking giant Lifesaver roll statues, a college town full of toilet gardens, a real America castle, and the world's smallest international bridge.
machine gun at 9:21 the mg42 is the weapon you don't want to meet... 1200 rounds per minute twice as fast as any machine gun before it... the rapid rate of fire made a terrifying sound. this gun was so deadly the US. Army created training films to help soldiers identify the gun signature sound in battle
Nice! Let us know next time you’re coming through Illinois! We’d love to hangout and do some videos together! Volo rocks! Love that place because it’s always changing!
My family and I have a few booths here! So awesome to see that you visited and enjoyed it all :D Interesting fact, that Disney double-decker bus was actually crashed into a tree last June when a kid climbed inside and knocked it out of park while they were in the process of restoring it. The bus proceeded to roll down a hill right into a tree! Thankfully the tree lined up right in between the 2 headlights, saving the original lights and glass! It obviously has since been fixed, you can find the news story on Google. Another great video!
@@deniseconaway701 not sure ill relook as pretty sure he had a tee on with his youtube name ? I have seen him in previous vids with one on .. same with califonian tony but didnt catch it in time .. jacob should add it to the links too :)
Dear God no I am not a RUclipsr. I’m just a guy that has a friend who’s a youtuber. And I’m not all that knowledgeable, I got my duesenberg dates wrong. ☹️
Man, those vintage arcade machines take me back. In my old house, when I was little, my neighbor ran an unofficial "salvage yard" where he had a bunch of these machines, including the periscope one and some without any actual electronic parts, which he would take apart to acquire the copper to sell to a recycler.
There’s a whole bunch of those 60’s and 70’s show cars at the Rod & Custom Hall of fame museum, I’m planning a road trip there, country classic cars in IL and to the Volvo museum among others.
At 4:30 we see and hear a rare Link style C coin piano with flute pipes. The endless roll system in the top was standard for all Link coin pianos and orchestrions. You can see and hear more Link pianos on RUclips.
2:01 YMCA is playing in the store 5:57 happy is playing in the background 😁 6:00 cha cha slide is playing in the background ^_^ ps i love all these songs
The Vectrex was an early vector-based game system. Also notable for using screen overlays like many arcade games did at the time. Finally, my knowledge of obscure video game history pays off!
The pirate show is actually from Porter, Indiana. I went and looked it up because I live five minutes from the Oregon Enchanted Forest and didn't remember ever having anything pirate related there. The Enchanted Fores in Indiana was open from 1957 to 1991. It became a waterpark in 1994 but closed in 2017 after many, many injuries and poor managment.
The Mold-O-Rama probably only operates on weekend to keep down the wear and tear on it......my brother got me a Flipper mold way back in the 70’s for me. I believe I still have it somewhere (if it hasn’t melted) 😟.
Heh, I'm old enough to remember that road racer game. That Pep boys display is the one that was done by the American Restoration team, the cigar was removed from most of the statues during the Great American Smoke Out. Someone in my area owns a working Mach 5. He brings it out during local parades and car shows.
I vaguely remember Vectrex video games. Apparently it started out at the price of $199 ($500 in today's money) when they were first sold in 1982, and by 1984, when they stopped selling them, the retail price had dropped to $50.
What is up with the dislikes? Like honest what did you expect to see when you selected the thumbnail? This guy is one of the few left that actually appreciates what made America!!!
Now that's a very nice museum, with a lot of special exhibits. Sadly that the mold-a-ramas only perform in weekends. That kind of information should be in their advertisements. Nice tour, thank you Jakob.
This is an amazing place, don't know how I never heard of it. Wish I lived in Illinois, maybe I'll have to plan a trip to see it. There was a live Barbie show in an outdoor theater at Epcot during 1994 for her 35th anniversary. I went to Walt Disney World in 1994, but didn't see a Barbie parade there, must have missed it.
At 6:44 we hear and see a Mortier orchestrion (larger Mortier instruments were known as “dance organs”) which plays a few hundred organ pipes, two real accordions, and drum sets. Mortier organs were made in Belgium from at least 1906 to about 1952. This is a late one probably from the 1940s, and was formerly owned by the late Bob McCord and on display at his Sagebrush Cantina restaurant in Culver City, California. Many other Mortier organs can be seen and heard on RUclips as well as documented in the recent book “The Mortier Story”.
Great museum! I remember riding on a couple of those coin operated rides as a kid, including the rocket one, and I think I had a model of the Red Baron car.
At 25:50 we see and hear a “Stafford Nickelodeon” which is a ‘build up orchestrion’ built by Alan Stafford of Pennsylvania sometime between the 1980s and present, using an antique former upright home player piano, with griffin legs (copied from the Wilcox and White Symphony model 950 player reed organ), coach lamps (copied from the Seeburg E coin piano), and an art glass window (newer design) added, as well as new O-roll frame, accordion, bass drum, cymbal and small percussions, replacing the original foot pump and 88-note roll frame.
There's a parrot lamp like that in the Skipper's Canteen restaurant in Walt Disney World. That automated player piano was incredible... well, so we're all the other animatronics!
I had a Barbie video when I was little from the early 90s of Barbie at Epcot! Apparently Mattel and Disney were incahoots for a short time. I watched that video ALL THE TIME!
I literally live down the road from this museum. And I’ve lived here my whole life. I’ve never been here. And now that I know there’s animatronics, I’m never going. 😂
The Beagles animatronics were cute. The pirates and parrot singing “Rawhide” was just weird.
A Cow Pony Bike, Pirates singing Rawhide, Shrek, and old cars. This is an awesome museum!!!
4:22 that parrot looks right into your soul
Actually Dusenbergs were built through the 20s and 30s.
Great coverage of the Volo Museum. It was I who sent you your blue Goofy and red Mickey Mold-A-Rama figures. I wish I knew you were going to be there... would have loved to meet you. I checked just this fall to see if they changed molds, but as you saw they have the same 2.
The Wurlitzer jukeboxes were great! Such colorful machines!
I love old fashioned vehicles! They always have that unique style. Also love old animatronics too. They got that creepy vibe to them that i like.
I love the variety of things they have. Something for everyone to be interested in.

Those machines are worth more together today than they are for scrap. I hope your friend cut that out.
What a cool place!! Thanks for "taking" us here!!
Wow 📢 very cool indeed car collection museum, thanks Jacob for the tour!
That was fun!
I once had a Silver Duisenberg Avon after shave decanter. LOVE this place. Looks like it would be worth the effort to travel to. Nice job, Jacob.

Showbiz Pizza brings back some great memories.Awesome video bud!
I’ve always wanted to check this place out.
That's right up there in the upper echelons of roadside attractions! Amazing, and everything displayed well.
Wasnt expecting the war room. Total nerd out 😍
The Vectrex is incredible, I had one as a kid. One of the coolest game systems ever!

You should go back to the Volvo Auto Museum, It has changed a lot since this video was filmed!

Brilliant place, nothing like that here in the Uk. Thanks Jacob.
Legendary mutton chops my man
Duesenberg cars are a bit older than the 50s... The company was founded in 1913 and closed up in 1937.

LOL the animatronic were hilarious esp the english beagles even sounded like them :D great vid
Cool.
I have a set of the Atari wireless joysticks with the antennas in the original box from the 1980's.
They have a bunch of those vintage baseball games at the Fun Plaza in Myrtle Beach. They’ve been there since before they were vintage!
Awesome museum , love it 💕
Fantastic cars - but those RVs are to die for!🚨
