OGs of this channel will remember when an animatronic band almost wore Jacob's skin and glasses......good times
Yes omg I remember that!!
What was that?
Same 🎉🐀
I remember that he went to visit the kings
We laughed out loud when we saw the reaction from those two guys after you said…king of the world 😂 14:45
I was like he isn't going to do that with those dude there, then I was in disbelief that he did do it and laughing at the odd looks he garnered for it lol
There is a small 'oasis' type of structure on interstate 44 in the Vinita, OK area. Used to be 'the glass house' restaurant. Now it holds a McDonalds, Subway, gift shop and a gas station.
It was super cool to meet you at Volo! I was the one that came up to you at the pirates! Definitely made my trip that much more awesome!
where have you been?? It’s been months since your last video I can’t wait for a new one 😢
I met him at spirit halloween flagship opening he was super nice.

Slight correction: That is the Batcycle made initially for the 1966 feature film adaptation of the Adam West TV series, and then subsequently used for said TV series after the movie left theaters. The TV show had its own variation of the Batcycle (which was used on loan and therefore got featured in only one episode, titled "Not Yet He Ain't"), with less visual flair and looking more like just a plain old motorcycle with some "bat" themed highlights whereas the feature film's increased studio budget allowed for more bodywork to be done for the Batcycle seen at this auto museum.
I was maybe five or six when I first went to the Volo auto muesem, specifically to see the Batmobile. I even dressed up in my Batman costume. So we were talking pictures, when the owner saw this, and offered to let me sit behind the wheel. Still one of my treasured childhood memories.
Whenever we make the drive from Kalamazoo over to Wisconsin, we make a point to stop at an Oasis. One of my favorite little things to experience on a road trip. :)
A lady yelling at you, a typical WELCOME TO ILLINOIS in todays world. BTW..there is a oasis still opperating near Rockford. The Belvedere Oasis.
Lol maybe she must be a Karen 😂
@@jessicacarranza4010 bet he was too nice to say ok Karen or f off lol
don't let her get to you jacob they didnt lock the doors it' their fault
Also she could have just said we are closed nicely .. not be all Karen about it .. I would have filmed her and laughed
The Volo auto Museum is definitely a bucket list place for me to visit!
Although I do hope they can fix the pizza time theater animatronics since some look a little rough.
hey it's nathan.
Good morning Jacob 🌞 your a treat to see going places. Thanks for sharing. Stay safe.🤓📸👍
It’s not out west but the New York State Fair is huge and runs through Labor Day weekend.
You could spend a day here. My favorite was the carousel and the Jurrasic Park section.
There are 4 oases left in Illinois - Belvedere, Dekalb, Lake Forest and that one you went to. The mirror on the iron lung was angled so they could look at who they were talking to while lying down.
OH MY GOD!!!!!! I grew up and lived in Valparaiso Indiana as well. It’s a small world Carpetbagger.
I remember the first rest stop my group got at in Switzerland. It didn’t sit on top of the highway (there was one in Italy I saw, never went in, that was like that) but on the top floor restaura (it was like 2-3 floors) that gave the illusion of that feeling
😊Great to see these state fair videos!! But don’t forget us in Canada! The CNE (Canadian National Exhibition) in Toronto starts tomorrow and is supposed to be even bigger than your last visit post COVID!! Has North Americas largest Ferris wheel !! Are u coming??
The Volo is awesome! Thanks for taking us along.
I'm a Titanic Geek 🙈 and this little Museum was so cute ♥️🙏
wait till you hear about titanic 2
Fun Fact: Butch Patrick (Eddie Munster) owns one of the original Munster mobiles. Saw him at a comic con a couple of years ago, with the car outside charging for rides with him in it.
You two aren't the only ones who enjoyed the Munsters; my gf and myself had a blast watching it, too. The guy who played Herman gave 150% every time he was onscreen.
I was just at the volo auto museum last week! The titanic exhibit was small but very informative, only 20 min away from my home, I always get geeked out when your at locations by me!!
I've loved seeing how Volo's evolved over the years. They have something for everybody there.
I got a little nervous when you were near The King. Carful Jacob!
Wow you were not far fronmm me yesterday when you were at the Volo Auto Museum!
1:32 My best friend had that similar situation with divorced parents sadly. Except it was not a travel plaza oasis due to no toll roads in Tennessee. My friend dad's moved to Kentucky in the year 2000 at age 8 when his dad took a job offer in Lexington, the mom stayed in Louisiana. So his dad and him would drive from Lexington to Memphis, TN, meet his ex at a Walmart parking lot or a convenience store parking lot, hand my friend over to his ex, and his mom would drive him the rest of the way to Ruston, LA. Fortunately, my best friend and I don't have to worry about that anymore. We are adults now and in our early 30s, neither of his parents live in those states anymore. Mother lives in New Hampshire while the dad lives in eastern North Carolina. I think Northwest Airlines had a hub in Memphis, TN INTL Airport at one point which was very convenient for my best friend, direct one stop flight and change planes in Memphis before Delta merged with Northwest and closed the Memphis hub. So he could fly there that way then.
Actually, the Ecto-1 from the OG movie was an ambulance. The one from 2016 was a hearse. ; )
What an awesome place .So much to see . Everything from amazing cars to kiddy rides, dinosaurs it seems endless . Those oasis seem like a great place to stop on a trip.Have never seen that before. Is it my imagination or did the moldo ramas go up in price . Keep Safe ❤Keep Well❤
Oooooh! Taking a ride on Superman. Looks kinky! 🦸
At first I thought the men by the titanic were some odd statues for some reason until they moved 😂
Fascinating and fun! What a joy to see all these wonderful vintage machines!
The Hinsdale oasis had that huge indoor playground. There were originally 7 I believe 5 were over 294. 2 of the 5 are left over 294. There are 2 left one is in DeKalb which I believe the only one that doesn’t go over an interstate.
AWESOME PLACE!!!! Animatronics and mold o matics!!!!!
Thankyou Jacob for taking me with you I had a blast at this museum ❤❤❤❤❤❤
I'm old enough to remember Howard Johnson's restaurant at the oasis. It was a big deal to get the clam chowder and watch the cars go underneath!!!
Lake Forest Oasis was open last time I was through there about a year ago... north of Gurnee
I remember them fondly from family vacation trips between Milwaukee and Michigan (lower) ... Seem to remember another one in Michigan City near the Indiana border... But most importantly my recollections of the Oases always involved a HoJo's (Howard Johnson's) 😊
There’s still a Belvidere IL oasis!!
Tulsa State Fair in Oklahoma starts during the last week of September and ends during the first week in October.
The rare ZOMBIE faced Mickey!!!
I am a little late watching this, surprisingly. I really enjoyed this adventure at the museum. It gets me excited to visit museums we want to go to in PA. One is Barry's Car Barn outside of Lancaster.
This is the only vlog of this place Ive watched and I already wanna go here
20:50 Arnold Schwarzenegger father was one too. I have also not forgotten what similar words he used booo arni
14:34 those calfs go crazyyyyyyy
One of my favorite places you have ever gone too. This is so cool!
The oasis reminds me of our drives to six flags in gurnee. Wasn’t that far of a drive but with three kids (me and my brothers) the stop was almost always necessary.
Missed the Rat Patrol Jeep with the mounted Machine Gun. The German Helmet car is the Red Baron which I had as a model when I was a Kid.
Jacob you are a legend! Your interaction with brain man was priceless! great video as always. Stay safe see you at the state fairs. ❤❤❤😅😅😅
Awwww my dad used to work in South Holland , Illinois❤️
I need to get back to Volo, its a cool place.
What a unique and amazing museum you went to! love the collection of retro cars you got to see along with several other exhibits on classic pop culture icons, enjoy the rest of your roadtrip and cya on the next stop!
RIP Mickey's face lol
Nice you’re right down the road from me in volo. The it’s history channel did a episode on the oasis’s.
Belvedere IL on interstate 90 still has an oasis. We go to volo for antiques but I have never been in those museum rooms. I will have to check them out.
I live like 20 minutes from here and I've been to the antique malls but never the auto and dino museum, they look cool though!
Hey y'all!🤗
I remember they used to have Wendy's salad bars at the oasis locations way back when, and bulk candy shops, always a fun stop on the way to Six Flags in Gurnee.
Also, there are many claims that the volo antique mall on the other side of the parking lot is haunted. Either was it’s pretty cool multiple floors of stuff
31:02 Imagine a Carpetbagger version of the Vacation movie.
Lynnwood Washington Chuck E Cheese used to have the Beagles when I was a kid. Me and my dad used to always sit by them every time.
I'm pretty sure that the Oklahoma Arch in Vinita is still open! I stop there to fuel up all the time in my drive to see family between STL and Tulsa
I think your mold collection would make a great collection to maybe display in a different room outside the bunker? Or maybe you can make shelves that hold them to go around the top part if the walls. Also i bet your extras would make great trade bait for other ones you dont have with others who want ones you have. All love Jacob, I have your pin in my car so we can go on adventures together because that is a bucket list dream of mine to go on a dark ride or something with you ir be that plus one when you need it 😄
what an awesome museum a total experience thanks jacob
I've never seen that oasis situation in this country. They have them all over UK....roadside services. Different though. The walkway over the road doesn't have any services though. The services are on both sides of the motorway so you can stop off whichever way you're traveling.
Love the Jurrasic Garden
It looks like 4 oases are still open: Lakeland Forest, Belvedere, Chicago Southland, and DeKalb
That museum was amazing! Lots of fun things to see.
Further North is also the Lake Forest Oasis, just before you hit Wisconsin on 294-N.
Just as an FYI carpet bagger, Jacob, This is the second time I think I commented when you went to the red Baron hot wheels car didn’t know what it was called but it was from snoopy and Charlie Brown, mainly snoopy, always trying to catch the red Baron but that’s what that car is a duplex of. And it’s a hot wheels, red baron car just an FYI😊
The man at 11:01 reminds of the cemetery caretaker from Disney Haunted Mansion ride.
The animatronics are very unique
The curse of the Camel strikes again! Poor Mickey getting his face demolished like that. Damn you Camel!!!!!!!!!!!😜
The old CEC Barbershop Quarte was cool to see
That pink vw is gorgeous I've always wanted a vw bus to road trip around in maybe when I retire 🥰
So awesome today love it so sorry about your Micky mouse 🐁😞 have a wonderful blessed day today 💐💐🌺 💐💐
My friend is the marketing director at Volo museum. It’s definitely a great museum and antique store.
Thankyou so much Jacob so many memories when I was a kids of show biz pizza!!! I would love for showbiz pizza to come back as a pizza place
Belvidere Oasis, Dekalb Oasis, and Lake Forest Oasis are the other ones still open.
I believe Lake Forest Oasis is still open.
And btw Kenosha County Fair is open.
i would love to see this places power bill- sooo many moving parts and lights and sounds
awesome walk through
Elivis loved his cars
That kid jumped out of his skin when the band started haha
Me and my boyfriend also loved the Munsters movie!!! It was super cute and sweet!!
You should come to the Tulsa Oklahoma State Fair . It runs from September 28th to October 8th
27:34 ford GT40 Mk. II from Carroll Hall Shelby
At the iowa state fair you have to ride YE old Mill. It's a free floating boat darkride that's been at the fair over 100 years
35:07 I could hear Mr. Krabs!😂 Great video! I should make a trip there!
Hey Jacob, I hope you can visit all the state fairs before they close I hope you get to as many as possible just remember we will always support you no matter what if you need to take time off do what best for your health is the most important thing we will be supporting you with what ever you decide. And I also hope you can take a trip Kings Dominion in Virginia on Labor Day weekend because I will be visiting there then. I want to meet you
This museum is awesome
I remember seeing one somewhere in West Virginia. I'll have to see if my brother remembers the name of it. I might have a photo of it. It had a burger king, a pizza hut, and a cinnabon. It had a few gift shops as well and those pamphlets with all the info about the state and local places to visit.
I guess there’s the modern trackless trains/trams in touristy areas, then there are those like that which are also called Traction Engines which I guess were more like tractors
It’s a shame you couldn’t get in the Oasis. I grew up with those being a part of my family’s travels to McHenry from Lansing, Illinois. It would have been fun to see!
That is so cool! I never heard of that before! Seems to be a good idea for long distance travellers in the United States. Thanks Jacob!
Belvidere, IL I believe still has an oasis!!
Hey Carpetbagger! Check out the Marine Corp Museum in Triangle, VA. It is like half an our south of DC. It has a bunch of immersive exhibits and will definitly change your opinion of military museums
Hate to hear the oasis are closing. Driving from the south to Wisconsin as a kid those were always a big highlight for child me.
Hi Jacob massive fun..!!!! Just love it all... Hope you are well.. XXX
Oklahoma State fair is in September or October. Arizona State Fair is in October.
This episode smacked me back into my childhood , 80s baby 👊
11:04 looks like the Caretaker from the Haunted Mansion lol!
Aww glad you got a new Mickey I thought they would do that for you
