@@littlekittytv7893 when i watched Mckamey other videos, there was a shed full of old props that looks like it hasn't been used yet, like the fake electric chair i saw in sail before. but even despite the suspicions, this guy does still have the license to go here to advertise himself.
I met him a couple years at Transworld everyone has heard of him in the haunted house industry and I wanted to meet him he was a asshole who acted like his shit didn't stink and he was the best around and an all-around unpleasant person to meet I tried to avoid him the rest of the convention
Walking around, looking at this kind of stuff pre-Halloween is my favorite thing about Halloween! hehe

The scariest part of this convention is Russ McKamey being in attendance.
The possessed female that flys at you then goes back to her corner is one of my favorites.

Who the hell let McKamey Manor in? They’re not considered part of the haunt world.
They are, apparently. It's not that they're not a part of the haunt world, it's that they are a part of the entertainment and theme parks business. The way to get tickets into TransWorld and IAPPA is to have a license to purchase entertainment commodities such as audio-animatronics and props... and to get such a license, you have to have a registered business for entertainment. My parents ran a Moon Jumps business and they were always invited to this and IAPPA and they never went.
But I will say this... McKamy is a jerk. He got all uppity one time at TransWorld over the fact that someone was selling Walmart-level Halloween out on the show floor and said something like "That's Walmart Halloween, it doesn't count... At all.". He didn't seem to realize that not everyone can afford some fancy, leaping, snarling, growling, drooling werewolf for their Halloween decor and it was kind of hurtful.
CosplayCore More than a jerk. I seriously don’t think that if his business is doing borderline illegal (or even crossing that line) he ought to be allowed. He’s a really controversial figure and a lot of haunters disavow any connection with him. What he runs is a sick torture house. We run a show. All of it is fake, nobody should get hurt, and at the end, everyone has a good laugh.

it's so frustrating because he knows exactly what to say but I've heard customer testimonies that they start barraging you before you even sign the waiver, so you're not in your right mind to sign it
That that guy,or thing,should be shut down. He's a disgusting person and he needs be held accountable for what he's doing.
@@hellhound_haunt he claims the waver is totally their fault if they sign but they harass the customers while they're trying to read a 50 page document. it should be provided before they have to arrive

If he wants them to be able to read his ridiculously long waiver, he should provide it for them before they arrive so they have a better understanding of what they're getting themselves into. You are 100% correct and it makes me sick just thinking about how he treats people.

He also cuts hair, locks people in cages, rips people fingers and toes nails off and so on. He once caused a person a heart attack in which they didn't survive all from the immense torture he put them through. He also likes to record the whole experience for his amusement. That man is disgusting

Great job showing us around, glad you enjoyed this convention. Alot of people in the haunt industry are pretty genuine and friendly people. This was the first year they had a Christmas area. Russ tried to get us to go to his torture haunt when he lived in cali and we were like no thanks lol. We were sorry we couldnt go so thanks for showing us around. Awesome stuff!

Forcing of stuffing food down participants throats that isn't intentionally made for ingestion, causing actual physical injuries, etc. A lot of the people who sign up for it are masochists and end up becoming volunteers so they could perform the same acts that were done to them, its vulgar nonsense and not made to scare anyone.

Great video and commentary! My favorite part is 17:33 all the decorative skulls with their flickering lights is mystifying, and you made it even better by slowly panning the entire set.

Honestly I'm so glad to see so many people here in the comments calling out Russ McKamey! It feels like it's been a long time coming, as I felt like I had to do a lot of uphill fighting to get people to realize how skeevy he is! My interactions with him began and ended on one of his torture videos back in 2013, when I mused some reservations I had about his "legal" torture house (or van depending on the year), and he verbally harassed me for it before attempting to pull the "Nice Guy" card and personally inviting me to try out his house. But I tried for years after that to convince my friends who worked in the haunt community, and any haunt groups I was apart of to be wary of him and not welcome him with open arms after watching his torture videos. "Meh, it's no big deal!" they replied, brushing off my concerns. "I think it's pretty cool, actually! I definitely have wanted to hit/torture certain haunt guests with all of the shit I have to put up with! I see it more as catharsis!" "These people voluntarily signed a waiver, so they don't get to complain about what happens to them!" (btw, that doesn't make it okay) But still I kept calling him out and reminding everyone what scum he is. Now finally, at least in 2019, I've finally seen the shift and I am so glad!
Russ is an insecure asshole with a lot of baggage from his time in the military that he needs to sort out! He does not belong in the haunt community! As intense as some houses like to be, there is a line that should never be crossed between the false sense of danger one gets while journeying through a house, and the real danger Russ puts people in with his "haunt"! Haunts are, first and foremost, a place where you can experience a sense of danger safely because you know you're not really in any danger. But when you're covered in bruises, bite marks, cuts, your own blood or other fluids, sobbing or in a dazed state of being nonverbal (shock), then you've sprinted pass the line of safe scares and into full on trauma, and that's NOT okay! Keep calling Russ out! What he's doing is literal torture, and he thinks he can get away with it when certain haunt community members embrace or try to emulate him, and because he believes he got his paralegal ex-wife to write up a clause/waiver that allows him to legally torture others and not face arrest/imprisonment for it.

This is so true for me. I have autism and sensory issues make it difficult for me to go into even some imax movie theaters. I get overwhelmed by the amount of stimuli around me and I can’t stay in an environment like that for a period of time without either breaks to recuperate or some form of protection (earplugs). The only haunt I went to was kinda tame and didn’t have loud noises that lasted very long, so I could get through it just fine without being overloaded.
Still, I watch these videos when I can because they’re just fun to see! This guy’s commentary makes it funny too!

those "extreme" haunted houses are basically legalized torture.. I know some folk love it but there's been way too much.. erm.. let's say "questionable ethics" concerned with some of those haunted houses for most : they break some of the most sacred rules, such as not touching guests and making sure people have a safe-zone to escape to if they freak out etc.. yes people have to sign for it but no establishment should have a "no escape" option, even goddamn sadomaschoist dungeons are strict on safe-words (aka "no means no").. sorry if this sounds too preachy but Russ is definitely a controversial figure for such a public event, even over seas he's known for these things.
