STORY
In our latest adventure across Europe, Danny and I received an intriguing tip that led us to an abandoned palace hidden deep in the Portuguese countryside. This grand estate, once the pride of the Pinto family, stands as a haunting reminder of their rise to prominence and their eventual downfall.
The Pinto family, renowned for their exquisite furniture craftsmanship, once ruled their world from this very palace. Their furniture, which we frequently encounter in various derelict locations throughout Portugal, was the epitome of quality and elegance, making their name synonymous with fine craftsmanship. At the helm of this legacy was Jose Pinto, a sharp businessman who expanded their operations internationally and kept the company thriving, even during tough times.
However, the palace, once a symbol of success, also bore witness to the family's personal struggles. As Jose focused on expanding the business, the bonds within his family strained. By the early 1990s, fierce competition and financial woes led to the downfall of the Pinto empire, forcing the family to abandon their majestic home.
Today, the Pinto palace stands as a forgotten relic of the past, overshadowed by corporate indifference and the relentless passage of time. Join us as we step into its abandoned halls, uncovering the stories and secrets hidden within its walls. This exploration promises to reveal a fascinating chapter of history, a tale of success, solitude, and ultimate loss. Don't miss this adventure into the depths of the Pinto family's forgotten legacy.

The Ceilings were my FAVORITE PART of this forgotten Estate!!!! The Doors should have Stained Glass instead of what looks to me like Plexi Glass. I didn't know that you could LOCK a Grand Piano!!!! Learn something new everyday!!!! I would absolutely LOVE to have that OLD PHILCO FRIDGE!!!! I have a thing for them!!!! They're soooooo VINTAGE!!!! Thank-You Danny and Leslie; this was a GREAT FIND!!!!
So sad to see those antiques to waste away and be forever lost. 😞
Yes, it's unbelievable 😭 why these beautiful pieces of furniture aren't given away to people who will look after them and maintain their beauty? I would love to do it 🥰
If they had to file bankruptcy why wouldn't they try to sell the things in the house to at least get something out of their belongings? Such a shame that so much beautiful furniture is going to waste. What a palace!
Such a masterpiece, I could watch your videos all day long. Thank you, Lesley!
The ceilings painted with the flowers in the sky absolutely breathtaking
I could lay there in bed and stare and stare at them
i am surprise to see these ceiling at that time, look so advance style
Hey dear Lesley, I had to rewatch this video, and - really, oh my goodness, what a magnificient gem of a Portuguese grand mansion! The beautifully furnished rooms with these amazingly wonderful ceilings and beautiful chandeliers! So awesome to see! I also was completely surprised to see the electricity working in one of the rooms, where you had the chance to give a demonstration how wonderful the chandelier with a glass dome was looking with the light switched on and providing the room with a truly magical atmosphere!
And - also this time I enjoyed so much your conversations with your very skillful and highly talented cameraman Danny, who everytime surprises me with his broad knowledge! Simply wonderful!
An absolutely exceptional explore in that beautiful mansion, which I really enjoyed watching! - Such a shame, that there are already so many traces of decay visible! This mansion should be preserved for instance as a museum!
Thank you so much for this wonderful video! Looking already forward to your next explore adventure. - Stay safe, bro! Peace, many hugs and kindest greetings from warm and sunny Switzerland.
It's so sad to see such beautiful furniture, it has to be worth a fortune..but the Government would rather let it rot than sell the items to pay the debt..the family pictures should be given to a family member..so very sad...😥
Why an amazing palace! It’s filled with BEAUTIFUL furniture and decorations. The furniture is still in wonderful condition. The ceilings are just a masterpiece of artwork, absolutely stunning. The craftsmanship in the woodwork is breathtaking. The chandeliers are gorgeous! It’s a tragedy to not preserve this home and let it go into decay. This could be a museum to preserve all these treasures left behind. Thank you Lesley and Danny for sharing this beautiful find with us. ❤❤
Such a nice LP,i love the chandelier,it is adorable than the light is on.
How sad that no one is preserving this architectural treasure.
Extremely
Looks like it could still be lived in if fixed up huh?
The furniture the family made was beautiful. The ceilings were masterpieces of art what a beautiful.find.
Just the words Fairytale tells me this is going to be another great Palace exploration! Bravo'
Thanks for showing this beautiful place. Luv your videos. You are great
The terra cotta jug on the top kitchen shelf was, indeed, not a wine jug. It is an oil jug with a neck dispenser for pouring.
That furniture is really awesome ! It is magnificent ! I hope the house can be saved ! Thank you for helping great video!
Always excited, waiting for another intriguing video from the Bros of decay❤
Thank you Leslie and Danny. Wicker furniture, usually used outside or in a sunroom.
I really enjoyed watching this wonderful video! 😍 Such a beautiful abandoned Portuguese palace! The furniture and the ceilings are a work of art, impressive interior design! Hopefully someone will save this gem!
Thank you,Lesley and Danny ! You're lovely! ❤
Thank you so much! 😍 We’re glad you loved the palace and its stunning design. We also hope it gets restored one day. Your support means a lot to us! ❤

@@BrosOfDecay I'm really surprised to read a reply from you, Lesley! It's been several years since you liked or replied any of my comments! 🙂
I wonder if there are any family members who could salvage the furniture? It’s such nice furniture,
sad it’s going to waste! The plaster work on the ceilings are just lovely, it must’ve been a gorgeous mansion back in it’s day!
The way you describe everything in detail, makes it look even more special Lesley and Danny! One of your best explores to date!🎉
LOVE YOU GUYS.I WATCH YOU EVER NIGHT BEFORE I GO TO BED. ❤❤
The ceilings were gorgeous and I love the plaster decorative framing around the ceilings. You don’t see that in new homes today I live in America. I appreciate the furniture and the architectural doors and ceilings beautiful
i live in pakistan i even dont see those types of ceilings in new expensive homes
The mesh cabinet on the top floor probably originally was down in the cubbard area off of the kitchen. Those mesh cabinets were used to put pies and other pastries that had just come out of the oven to cool. Behind screen mesh to keep flies and other bugs from off.
Or maybe to store cheese.
I love everything about this house. I just feel sad again😢
I live in the US and we don't have places like these.. beautiful and sad.
Lt's sad to see the house so beautiful, hidden and clean and tidy,if there is no one to preserve it it will be gone wish you both good health in your work
What a beautiful place! Can't wait to see this documentary 🎉🎉 Love all of it of course. Beautiful bedroom with the floral ceiling painting is my favorite room. Piano is amazing. So sad to see it decaying. Wauw!!!
The ceiling with the painted stucco and the bas relief pillars look neo classical c. 18th century. The furniture looks late baroque c. 1750-1800. Hello from NYC 🍎 3:45
In Portugal that kind of furniture was used until today! Some is passed on in family
Mom and i always watching most of your video, our day wouldn't be completed without it, such inspiring and interesting to watch it from start to finish.. hope you can do exploring my country Philippines .. hope you can notice us my mom ,rose too... We love you too .. keep it up .. God bless 🙏
The mouse is Topogigio!!!!! He had a girlfriend Rosie❤❤❤ they were on the Ed Sullivan show
Hi Lesley and Danny, I don't understand why these countries do not send these homes to auction once the bank takes possession of the property. The buildings would get a new lease of survival, and the countries would make money, and they could auction off the belongings as well. What a beautiful home, it's just a shame it's left to decay. Thanks for sharing this one. Love from N.Y.
A cigarette roller !!🎉❤
Sunday is now complete ❤
Place is in great shape. Wish I could buy it. The light fixtures alone are stunning.
Very beautiful place
Wow. I have loved this huge house. It is full of history and remembrances. It is a pity it is left abandoned as so many others.
It is so sad to see this beautiful furniture going to waste. I wonder why the furniture has not been sold.
When there is alot of decay in a short amt of time-> it makes me wonder how much was already in decay before they left, especially if they were struggling financially. .. They may have tried to sell or give away a bunch of stuff, but being such a large place, I imagine that they had accumulated alot of stuff. And when downsizing, a person can only take so much stuff. Especially if they had any warehouses full of furniture as well.
That’s a really interesting point! It’s possible that the decay started even before they left, especially if they were facing financial difficulties. Downsizing from such a large place must have been overwhelming, and they probably had to leave behind a lot. It’s fascinating to think about the history and what might have happened during those final years. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Boa noite!!!!!! Forte abraço do Rio de Janeiro.
This is an awesome video. That palace looks amazing.
Watching each video get better and better is a joy. Each upload is like a clear documentary. Thank you for your respect to each place, and for taking us with you, this channel continues to bloom brighter than ever!
Hi, Lesley! Thank's for a new interesting video! ❤😊😊
Wow 😲, this is spectacular artwork 💯
Video and Voice quality is absolutely 💯 on another level...
Sending love from 254🇰🇪
Holly smokes!! You guys just brought back a very long time ago memories of my childhood, when we used to take empty bottles of sodas and or beer to purchase a new one. Back in the days, you wash and bring your empty glass bottles, so you pay for the content, not the bottle. Otherwise you pay for both and it is a lot more expensive.
😂. Me encantó . Saludosss
The sewing machine is very very wonderful
Yes I love it so much!
Beautiful Home & Furniture. So sad to see it left like this. Hoping the family found joy and peace in their new home
Absolutely stunning mansion with exquisite decoration’s from the walls and ceiling’s to the beautifully crafted furniture. Thank you for sharing 😊

Great video guys. Those ceilings were Beautiful ❤❤
What a place so sad it’s been left . Thank you Leslie and Danny 😊
I would love to restore this lovely home !! So sad to be left alone and neglected. Lol 😻
Thank you both for the tour. What a stunning mansion, all furniture custom made.
Love the ceilings with frescoes , chandeliers too. It's such a pity to see the house beginning to fall apart, probably not too late to save it.
Safe travels 😻🌠
I love watching him
What a beautiful place. I loved the ceilings and chandeliers. Beautiful singer sewing machine and the furniture. So sad it's been left to all just decay.
I bet the key for the second door would work to open the first door. 😭 Now you have to go back haha!
Wonderful video ❤
This place is beautiful. So sad it’s been left to rot.
Fellas they don't build them like this anymore❤❤❤❤
Unfortunately not :'(
It looked there was a door in the bathroom and space for a room, and then the bedroom had a similar door in line with the same door. It would have been nice to see if there was a room between the two rooms, as from the hallway it was a very long distance. Overall a great explore. The kitchen was very cool to see, and would have been a great place to cook. Thank you.
Beautiful!!!!!😮😮😮😮
It makes me so sad that the house is just sitting there decaying. All the furniture is so beautiful and expensive. Thank you for showing this.
Thank you as always for sharing I enjoy all your explorations
Such a beautiful place! The ceilings ae just so beautiful! So sad!
Like always was beautiful! Thanks a lot ❤
I love the kitchen sink and table.
The furniture upstairs is wicker. America uses wicker for outside furniture also. It's amazingly strong.
Chairs on top floor are not called wicker; I think they are ratan.
Or cane to be more precise 😊
Yes, wicker is the English name for that furniture in the servant’s quarters. I’m pretty sure that set was used outdoors.
beautiful and soo lovely, gosh those beds at the end with the white crumbling rooms is like an asylum!

A fictional anthropomorphic mouse, originally the lead character of a children's puppet show on Italian television in the early 1960s.
Magnifiques vrons J adore la cuisine
It was very beautiful at one time. Sad that it was abandoned. Very sad story.
One info about the cover on the doorlook, your estimate it was for fancy. - Well it's not. It was used before especially on outer doors to protect from wind and so on since it was open looks and with those kind of keys. It's still in use on those old type of doors and the normal was to have it on inner doors as well when you could afford it. I normally see that on old houses, cabins and mannors here in norway and it was to protect from snow, rain and wind.
Very beautiful ❤
Many many thanks
Wonderful tour of a beautiful old home. I always hope someone will come and save the place!
I wonder if the metal device on the dresser upstairs is an antique hand warmer?
Thank you !!!😍😘✌
You're welcome 😊
What a wonderful mansion. Danny does a great job filming, and would love to see him get more face time. Keep up the good work!
Beautiful place
Thank you so much
