STORY
On the slopes of an Italian mountain, we stumbled upon a perfectly preserved, long-forgotten traditional Italian home. This quaint yet charming dwelling beautifully captures the essence of everyday Italian life as it was for most people decades ago.
Today, we’re taking you back 30 years to share the story of Ugo and Pietro, who once called this charming mountain home their own-a home they inherited from their parents.
The brothers, along with their wives and children, lived together in this small house. Despite its modest size with only five rooms, there were once as many as seven people under its roof.
Ugo and Pietro were modest, hardworking men, each with demanding labor jobs, while their wives devotedly worked at the market held in the town center.
Such a way of life is rare today. After their parents passed, the children left to embrace modern living, leaving the house behind. Now considered nearly worthless, it remains unsold to this day, a relic of a former era.
Join us as we explore this forgotten home and reveal the lost history of traditional Italian life. Don’t miss this unique journey back in time to experience a way of life that has nearly vanished.

It always saddens me to see such family photos left to rot. My Italian heritage taught me how important family is. I cherish our older photos of family gone before us. My sister was shocked when we saw a pic of our great grandmother with her first baby and it was the spitting image of my sister. As if my sister had gone to one of those studios that dress you up and make it look like an aged photo. It’s just tragic when younger generations feel no need keep such records.

It’s interesting and important to understand how 90% of people lived. They were not in the mansions and castles, but in middle class homes like this one. What strikes me is how similar these homes are between countries and continents.

The tribute to this family, it is so thoughtful for you to do this in memory of these hard working people. I get past the decay in my mind and I see what this place was really like back in the day. Still they owned touches of class you can tell they had appreciation for beautiful things. The bed is wonderful with the painted portraits lovely. And I totally wish I had such a picture album as they had definitely a first for me and I collect antiques I've never seen one with a clock in it? Certainly, a testimony to how timeless a picture can be it is very special. Just to know these people were content with what they had stands out to me they utilized their space because they had to. I'm sure with no disappointment. The view they had alone is as special as any material thing they could own just wonderful just love Italy. I know you've enjoyed your visit there. I'm quiet taken with Italian glass and pottery I collect it. I learn a lot from your Documentaries about the Italian way of life. Such talent and beauty. Thank you for another lovely Documentation of this beautiful place.

I will never understand how people can just abandon such beautiful things left to rot. Like their parents meant nothing to them at all. Im sure there are lots of people who could benefit from the furniture. Were the kids rich and spoiled ?? I wonder
Rich and spoiled? No. It looks like quite the opposite. We don’t know what happened to cause this home and momentos to be abandoned. To just assume it was due to a lack of love or respect is foolish.

Hello, I believe the first bedroom was Ugo's because of the portrait of his wife on the end table and gentleman's clothing in the armoire. The bright painted portrait you showed in the hallway before entering the 2nd bedroom is of famous Italian actress Sophia Loren.

If a house in South Africa would be abandoned like that, it will be looted within a month or two. Even the building will be torn down. Roof, doors and windows will be removed. I would love to see old places like that. I enjoy your journeys and explorations.

I absolutely loved this video taken in Italy. I also saw the city where it is up north. One of the documents wrote it.
The report card stated that it was in Italy for a FIRST GRADE STUDENT with his grades. The owner was a truck driver, he transported people's belongings so I would consider them middle class people.

A beautiful traditional home, I love it’s simplicity and the age of the house. Decaying very gracefully. A beautiful location, how simple life was back then. May they all rest in peace 🙏🏻🌈🦋

Love your channel. You create the best abandoned exploration videos. I have to say that it is odd the way Danny is always disagreeing with Leslie and telling him he is wrong about things. You could have a drinking game based on this, lol. Poor Leslie! What would Danny say? “No I don’t think so…”
Place is getting bad off, but is still full of furniture and things that other people could use today. It's a shame to leave such beautiful things to rot. And all those family photos left behind. Just terrible. People in the U.S. have been doing that for decades too, disregarding old family photos. No doubt that the Italian people have beautiful things.
