    Very detailed. Wire routing looks a lot easier than what you did in my car, but that was a long time and many broken parts ago. I will need to add a gauge to the 500T so this is useful. Thanks.

    I noticed the Defy gauge sticks out a bit vs Perrin looking flush with the old housing. Is this correct, and if so, is the red on Perrin gauge a different shade than the 2012-2014 model year instrument cluster? I have 2013 and my boost gauge just died (shift up light works, but the needle is dead) and I am debating if Defy extra price is worth it, especially since this piece looks so good. Thank you for all you do for Abarth community!

    • @NGENCustomsandPerformance
      @NGENCustomsandPerformance  4 года назад

      Joe Adams the Defi gauge really looks factory on the 2012-2014 models. The red on the Perrin does not match the 2012-2014 but looks great on the 2015+.

    Can you tilt the dashboard forward, as in the video if the steering wheel is in place?

    • @NGENCustomsandPerformance
      @NGENCustomsandPerformance  2 года назад

      Yes you can do it without removing the steering wheel

    • @duckrutt
      @duckrutt 2 года назад

      Removing the steering wheel isn't that hard.
      WARNING there are wires for your steering wheel controls, wires for the airbag and the explosive for the airbag in there so if something bad happens it's not my fault.
      There are two holes just under the 3 and 9 o'clock spokes that give you access to the airbag clips. Buy the cheapest 4mm (it might be 3mm, I don't know where it went) hex key and file a V or U shaped grove in the long end. You should probably line it up with the angle or across the angle so you know how to orient it. Or buy the tool that the dealership uses. IIRC it's expensive and you're probably only going to need it once but it's not my money.
      Anyway there are bars you need to press to release the airbag from the mounts. If the whole key goes in you missed it, poke around and you'll find it. The notch will help it from sliding off the bar which is a problem if you use a small screwdriver like a crazy person. Pop off the left one, the right one and the left one again when it clips back on.
      I did this over two years ago so things get a little hazy. Unclip the airbag connectors and I don't remember if you need to undo the steering wheel bolt first or if you need to remove the connectors for the wheel controls but you need to do both.
      Done? The wheel is keyed so you can't put it on upside down which is nice.
      There is a part of me that wants to type all that out backwards like a jerk but I'll just say plug anything back in, screw the wheel nut back down and bang on the airbag until it clips back in place. Maybe sit in the passenger seat the first time you turn the key. And you should have unplugged the battery first.
