Thanks for posting this, I looked up a video for a 428 super marauder and found this. I had a 1966 2dr fastback parklane marauder hard top with the 428 super marauder , mercury’s version of the 428 scj and this video brings back some great memories. I was once pulled over by a state trooper on I -5 just north of Tacoma Washington, I was late for work and had been running full throttle for a number of miles I don’t know how fast I was going as the speedometer only went up to 140 mph and it was buried I had just entered a area known for being heavily patrolled by radar and I actually momentarily lifted off the throttle and the speedometer remained pegged out I thought it was clear so I floored it again, the trooper had just pulled up to run radar apparently and didn’t have time to get the radar set up before I had blown past him it took me about a half mile to pull over . I pulled over before he ever caught up with me and was fully ready to be arrested but because he never got me on radar and I was very polite he didn’t even give me a ticket he asked how fast I was going several times and I said over 60 officer his response was oh yeah probably closer to 160 😂😂, he admired the car and told me he’d be looking for me next time. Thanks again and have you ever ran it out to see what your top speed is

Back in the 90s I had a 2 door 1966 Mercury Monterey S55. I painted it Metallic Blue but it was an original light blue.

@@oldvintagegarage9355 a beautiful engine for the car, effortless passing power. Can you share some details? Did you build it yourself? What might the bore and stroke be? I have a 1965 Galaxie with a 390 .20 over. The cam is 227/232 @.050 and I ported the heads myself. I have a C6 and 4.33 gears. It is really fun! I have a Super Stock 390 put away that is a 1 hr swap. The street engine makes 496hp and 454ft lbs with headers. The SS engine makes 524 hp and 476 ft lbs. with the Streetmaster intake it makes 545 hp and 500 ft lbs . It is a single plane, it just shows how much the intake works with the porting. I also have 105 truck block with thick bores and the 3 rib CJ style main ribbing. And the color is a touch on the gold /grey casting and that usually indicates extra phosphorus and chrome. It has a high Brinnell score that indicates that it is almost nodular. The sonic that we did in my shed shows no casting shift or deviation from the blueprint. Oddly enough it uses the car distributor. I would love to do a 4.16 X 4.25 462 ci. But I may just do 4.13 X 3.98 and turbocharge it to 800-850 hp,🤔
@@Bbbbad724 Hallo Mr. Bill Ballinger, thank you very much. We build this Ford FE for round about 10jears. At all the time it works very well. We have Stroke from SCAT an all the other parts... We think it is important to have "BIG Valves" We have the Ford FE with an aluminum cylinder head from Edelbrook. Cam with NM -ft lbs building. BUT::: we are in Europe - Germany - Bavaria. We have very strong declarations to bring a performed car on the street. Power Custom it is in our country not possible. But we have a car with Q Code and it is ok. It is great to build our own engines. At the moment we build a Ford V8 Flathead. We now: less power for big coasts - but a Fleathead and his wunderful sound and kind.

Hallo MR. - Sir Thanks for the complement. The feeling with this sleeper is great and the FE works perfect to bring the "neek hear" to stand. The Mercury has no power steering and original drum brakes with no brake booster - that makes him so crazy !! Thanks - have a good time

Actually if that’s a bored out 429 it’s not a FE but a 385 series engine

we have a cam from the factory Comp Cams. We configurated with the Stroker Kit and the aluminum heads and........
The Cam - configurated for a good torque. The degrees of the Cam? We must look in the order documents. But - The overall concept has to fit, for best results.

had i think a 68 in 78 and tore the 427ci engine right off its mounts brake torquing it. dumb but it's what teenagers did. the car was dumb too. all that power driving a huge poorly suspended body that cornered like a horse on roller skates. car was good for one thing, and that was getting into the back seat with a girl. my 69 camaro with 350 small block and radial T/As was tighter. you could feel the road. not the fastest of the muscle cars but fast enough. pure pleasure to drive. not much room in that back seat though
Stock motor I have a guy with a full complete running car I'm thinking about getting it and putting drive train in my 56 fairlane
What mufflers??
Hallo Sir,
we have only "Raptor" Mufflers on board.
We say always: the sound cames not frome the Mufflers - great and good engine sound cames from the engine - from nothings else.
