Did you fix it?
@@MathijsGroothuis Yes, I did, I took a shorcut & checked the back of the screen & this was it.
It is no repair until the hot glue is out :-) Repaired my grandson's Volvo speedometer with hot glue yesterday.

happy new year to all of you from Croatia
Thank you for the adventure.
Happy New Year, Sorin!
Happy new year sorin I'm from the Philippines, I learn a lot every time I watch your videos, keep it up.Good job🤗🤗👏
The track may well have been fractured by pressure from the broken hinge.
I too believe that's what caused the issue.
LA MULȚI ANI !
You are my mentor, Love your ways of teaching, it helps me alot Happy new year in advance Mr surin
I love all your videos Mohamed from Egypt you are creative
Happy New year 🎊 Sorin ... I missed you videos ... Greetings from Portugal ...
Hi Sorin, out of the 36 LED 9 do not work. Normally 4 x 9 LEDs are controlled, one line has failed / has a contact fault.
That's what I thought too, and it's lucky already that the screen allows the backlight on with one group not turning on... On my laptop that I tried to replaced LED's, if one group is not getting power, the backlight goes on for 2 seconds and then shut off!
hello SiE kindly elaborate
@@rbaamo7194 You can even see this, for example at. 34:14 3 LED lights - 1 not - 3 lights - 1 not etc.
yes
@@kztech1319 Hello sir . . is it possible to disassemble a paper LED panel and then reassemble it and get it to work as before . . I mean I would like to remove few paper sheets in there. . THanku
You are not a repairman, not at all. Your a Magician my friend.
Hello Sorin! Happy new year!!
Thanks for all your work and videos. I really like it!
Would you please do more videos about fixing random errors? Like, the laptop is working but, randomly, shuts down? This is just an example.
I know these are the most difficult types of problems to address, and that's why I'm interested in learning how to fix some of them.
Thanks!! 😉
One of the videos that had that sort of error was one where the push button had something between it that was conducting, so the person would turn on the laptop and then it would switch its self off, because from the processors point of view it was like a person was holding down the switch, which turns it off. Since that video I always think its worth testing the push buttons, pretty sure you could do with it contunity mode to make sure its not in contact.
I will say thought it would also be worth testing it with the resistance meter also because it may be that what ever material was inbetween the switch could have higher resistance than 10ohms so the contunity meter wouldn't pick it up.
@@Ghost572 That's very interesting. I've also seen somewhere a bad capacitor causing this kind of issue. I don't recall where I saw it, though...
Hello Sorin, happy new year 2022.

I believe you forgot to put back de LED´s black plastic cover??? in any case you are still the best, missing your videos already!
+1. Futhermore, 1 of each 4 LEDs became disconnected. Maybe the fix was not as perfect as supposed...
Happy new year !
What happened with: ,,It's never a fuse !!!''. It was always funny 😀
very good job mate. happy new year.
Thank you so much master...
Thanks for sharing your knowledge
👍👍👍
I think the track was broken by the broken hinge. Its a common issue that if the customer dont care about the broken hinge it will cause more damage in time.
good job Sorin is a new one for me happy New Year
Welcome back Sorin... back to the track :)
Hi boss
happy New year
I am fully sure I will be see you in 2023 in full strength
Thanks for everything you have been doing for Us ,honestly WE really appreciate your endeavor and will always pray for life on your behalf
happy new year sorin to you and your family i hope this year is great for you all ...great first video ....ps your microphone has slight feedback ... regards joe ....
Hello Sorin and happy new year! Why didn't you check for the dim signal or the PWM signal? i mean the 3.3V rail. If the inverter is boosting the voltage (19V to 30-40V), it means that the 3.3V is present?
did you find an answer? i'd like to know too
All LED's are Good hmm that's BAD such a legend !!! 😂😂😂
Like you used to say: that was easy!
Happy new year 🎉
I always learn something from you sorin ty.
Hi Sorin nice video of fixing that screen , i thought it was not possible. Keep up the good movies.

Sorin where are you man :D we miss you throw us some videos :D

Great video and also great ads
Shaky hands means too much nikotin 😂
Be healthy sorin 🙏
Good example of screen repair.
happy new year
Maestro is back 👍❤️
la multi ani Sorine
Learned a lot from this thanks for the video.
Great vid Sorin! I have an Asus 17.3 inch screen which has a similar problem in that it ONLY shows a green tint. Backlight is ok, but all pictures show up with green tint. Could you please explain what to check, or even better, do a video on such a problem! Thanks! Love the vids - watching in Canada! Happy 2022
That could be lcd cabel to MB.
i agree with lordanubis it might be an LCD connector issue. hopefully nothing got burned ;)
Tell your customer to open the laptop from the middle so it doesn't add so much stress to the hinges. I cringe every time I see people lifting the lid by one side as the lid twists and adds undue stress on the opposite side hinge, screen, tiny ribbon cables and whatever else is getting distorted.
This hot glue is old school miracle for almost everything 😂
Some plastic patch and epoxy glue fixes the broken cover strongly. Don't forget to drill the cover around crack, before applying epoxy glue.
There will be no esthetic problems if you cut the patchs fine.
you must tape sides of all those plastic sheets together . they are very slippery and you don't want to mix the way they are ordered.
That's some real mastery here!😊
I also had an issue with the track. Not sure why it was broken in my case(I am thinking that it was due to opening and closing regularly).
Awesome channel! I instantly became a subscriber and fan of your channel when I seen you use zippo lighter fluid to find the hot spot on a laptop motherboard. That's a great trick to find hotspots!
I have a question regarding your comment on disconnecting or reconnecting display cable while power is connected. What can break? What is the most likely problem if during a laptop screen replacement I seen a spark when connecting the display cable to the new screen and now all indicator led don't light and laptop won't power on? Power adapter was not plugged into laptop but the battery was still connected. My laptop is Asus FX505DU-EB74. When I tried to turn it on and it was dead I unplugged the charger and sat the laptop aside. Upon returning a hour or so later I noticed that laptop was still warm. I opened it up and found the heat source. It is a small chip near where the display cable connects to the board and the backup battery. It gets really hot fast. That chip and small 1in. area around it was the only place with high temp tape covering it.
So.... What is that chip? Is it super I/O? I unplugged all power and backup battery to reset bios but it didn't help. Is the chip fried or is it a mosfet or what could be the culprit?
Its my own personal laptop I'm working on and I could definitely use any knowledge that your wisdom can share with me. Please help me!
the problem of playing with the screen connector with the battery or the charger plugged in, is that the 19 V power rail under this condition is always on, so what happens is that a high voltage line may cause discharges and burn something, usually if something like that happens you burn the screen and that's it, but on your case you may have burned a power mosfet on the side of the motherboard. you probably solved the problem at this time but if you still need help reply here and I'll gladly try and and help you troubleshooting
@@simonerachele6231 I haven't fixed it yet. I was planning on sending it into Asurion the phone insurance company. They have this new plan that cost 25 bucks a month but you can get almost anything electronic fixed or replaced. I still want to figure out the problem on my own if I can. I've narrowed it down to one chip that gets really hot even if you just plug in the battery. I'm not sure what the chip is though. If it's a bios or what. I can send a picture if you want.
Good work👌
La multi ani!!
I did the same thing, check the cable.
"All LEDs are good. That's bad" :)))
Every fucking video we learn so much from you . Thank you for sharing 😊😊😚☺️
Hello. Can we test LCD backlight with external power supply on the edp connector? I don't have laptop. I only have screen.
