BOOK FORMATTING IN WORD | Author bio and other back matter

As indie authors, we are responsible for our books' formatting, and that process can be intimidating if you're just getting started. I've formatted all of my own books in Microsoft Word, and along the way I've taught myself how to do so in a way that looks and feels professional and often includes eye-catching visual elements.
Today I'm continuing my formatting series by showing you how to format your back matter without messing up everything else you've done already. There are examples of what to include in your back matter in the demo manuscript below, but this is another section that is very customizable so you can tailor it to your needs however you'd like.

I've had a ton of people asking questions about specific formatting issues or problems, and while I would love to answer all of them, I simply don't have the time (or the knowledge sometimes) to respond to every specific question. Microsoft Word isn't the best or the easiest formatting tool out there, so it is pretty tricky to get things right.
Most of what I've shown here was learned through trial and error and many, many Google searches. You can find many of the solutions to your problems that way. I'm sorry I can't respond to every single question but I wish you all the best of luck in your formatting endeavors!

I think your books are wonderfully formatted. I can't format in Word because my Chromebook won't let me but I am fortunate in that I have Atticus and wouldn't be without it. But I will keep watching your videos because there's always something we can learn.

Thank you. Love how you teach simple, clear and easy to understand. I have a problem in setting up the section which has the widows and orphans, keep with line, no hyphens. Which should I select for the whole document ?

Page numbering in Word can be a nightmare -- setting up different sections doesn't always create the correct page numbering. Would love to see a video just on page numbering in a book with different sections.

One question - don't you put Table of Contents in your books? I don’t see it either at the beginning or at the end of this Pirate book.
