- This is a SIMA (Seattle Indian Music Academy) Faculty Recital of Jeff Lewis, disciple of Ustad Zia Mohiuddin Dagar, on the rarely heard Rudra Vina, performing Raag Jog-Alap, Jor, and Jhala. The performance took place at the Baha'i Center in Bellevue Washington on April 14, 2012.
One of the most spiritual raag recordings I've heard.
What a wonderful and deep rendering of the Raag Jog.Thoroughly enjoyed it. Great clear sound. Thanks for sharing. Pranams.
Congratulations Jeff. I love the resonance of your wonderful instrument and also the time you take to build a meditative atmosphere of raga Jog. Must have been a wonderful treat for members of the audience!
Welcome , my dear.
Parmjit ,Punjab ,india.
Beautiful rag-dari, played by a senior disciple of Ustad Z M Dagar.
finest recording.....
.. i love you jeff...
I first heard the rudra veena in Sydney, Australia with Ustaad Asad Ali Khan many years ago - What an amazing sound from this ancient instrument! Thank you Jeff for being who you are doing what you do. You play with such skill - and I was really listening as I was doing a passive session of Orbital Yoga. I will listen to this piece again and again. Thanks!!

OM Namah Shivaya.
Nope, my music is dedicated to the mighty name of Jesus, my Savior!
Indian Music Teacher Shiva would have to be compatible with Jesus. It is after all the *Rudra* Veena.
Wonderful
Wow 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Beautiful playing. Your lowest Kharaj string sings exceptionally clearly. Is it wound, by any chance?

no salutations to the guru prior to the start???
This video does not show the entire introduction...
...and it's obvious that you don't know me. I am CONTINUALLY giving thanks to BOTH of my teachers. Amiya Gopal Bhattacharya AND Ustad Zia Mohiuddin Dagar. I hope that you can see their influence in my playing.
lucky to have learnt from Zia Mohiuddin Dagar, i did notice his influence
