I initially had a couple of tanks in the house and decided to move them all in to the fishroom instead. Best decision ever!! It was much easier to maintain and felt it was better to see all in one place (in my opinion).

Best set of outtakes yet! I was bustin' up! 🙂 When you added that water-change line below the big Cory tank - the valves and fittings are look like all drip irrigation parts. Is a lot of what you're using drip fittings and poly pipe? Anyway, always a great time, Adrian. I really love being able to pick all of the little details. I've still got a lot to learn. Yeah that sounds great ! I would be in and yeah just poly pipe from big box store. Cheap and easy to use.

I hope so too lol and yes, now we think we have got it all sorted. It was almost certainly when my dad left the doors open during the daytime that the snakes got in to the airlock and once they were inside the perimeter, then they did find other holes to get in to each cage. We fix all of that now, so hopefully no more bird eating snake videos. although I do have a big snake that’s going to appear in my next fishroom video but she is a special one. Make sure you check that one out.🙏🇦🇺🐶❤️🦘

Hello Adrian, Its Gordon again. Plants in aquariums sometimes look a bit yellowed and lacklustre, and I'm guessing that the reason for this is that aquarists try to keep conditions in the water column (as opposed to the substrate) unfavourable for plant growth, so as to avoid an explosion of algae. When I set up my tank, I am intending therefore to include a dirt substrate, topped off by sand (as per "Father Fish"), with the plants rooted into the dirt. However, looking at your plants, they do all seem to be beautifully vibrant, without dirt substrate(?), and without any serious outbreak of algae. How do you manage that?
Oh and by the way, tell Ziggy to cool it!

Good to hear from you again…. Yeah I just do what I do lol and dirt substrates are great… you can always cap them with sand as I’ve found that good too. I’m on to Ziggy don’t worry ! Lol

You’re right…. Neither actually, lol he is a mini foxy (fox terrier) and a very cool little dog. Def worth getting one if they are in your area and you’re looking for a constant companion who is ALWAYS on my heels. 🙏❤️🦘🐶🇦🇺
@@AdriansFishroom I have 2 really big dogs, and just found another that some bastard abandoned , he was starving to death, I found him 4 weeks ago tomorrow, he weighed 26 pounds, today he weighs 73 pounds.
I've been feeding him kibble with raw organic beef kidney, goat yogurt, and fresh eggs 3 times a day.
I expect he'll be about 90 pounds when he gets all the way better.
we also have 5 cats.
we live way out in the country .

Can you tell us why you are doing such large water changes and how other do you do them? Are you testing the water first to see if a water change is needed? I have stopped doing weekly water changes and my plants are doing so much better now.
Yes, this is very interesting for me too. 👍
If you are asking with regards to the fry tank, I’m doing so every 7 to 10 days to ensure that there are no spikes in my water parameters, whilst they are so young and vulnerable, and whilst I am feeding them quite heavily to ensure that they get enough food.
You will see with most of my other tanks. They get water changed once or twice a month and only when I think they need them.

Hey i wish i would know ph for guppies and how do you guys get there I use ro water with seachem minerals. My water out of the tap us like 6.5 but chlorine like crazy my males.die.so soon and my female have one litter of fry and.pass away. My males last like a month just outside of their warenttee. I try to grow plants they melt back and die I can't even get pathos to grow. All that is doing well is my plates pleco, panda and albino corridors and a platum doho loch with mini African frogs. And a mini sunshine gourami
Yeah wow that’s a bummer… I would try leaving a big barrel of water outside (rain preferably) then it will de grass and settle after 24/48 hours. You could also use saltwater coral sand as your substrate to garden the water as a starting point… put a bag in the storage barrel so it’s ready to use.

Yep I agree I regular schedule of water change is gonna be very problematic. It’s way easier and better for the fish that you do it when they need it and if running something like a bio barrel you won’t need to do much at all other than top up.🙏🇦🇺🐶❤️🦘
