- Wendi Adelson, the ex-wife of the murdered Florida college professor Dan Markel, takes the stand and testifies in her brother’s murder trial October 26th-27th. Wendi Adelson eventually decided to end her marriage with her ex-husband, causing some tension when it came to the custody of their children. When the couple split, brother Charlie Adelson made a joke that getting Wendi a TV was cheaper than hiring hitmen. Prosecutors believe that Charlie Adelson hired multiple hitmen to murder Markel in order to regain custody of the kids they shared.

Im disgusted by this spoiled woman who’s always gotten everything she wanted including having her husband/children’s father killed so she could do exactly as she pleased. Wendi lied when she said she talked to Danny that morning on the 18th. They supposedly fought over him wanting to take the boys swimming that day. I thought he called her and she didn’t take the call. She returned the call after he was killed. Roshbaum then says to her “you didn’t talk to Charlie that day right?” She says no. She did too! She called him to ask if the tv was worth fixing.

They only get ONE shot so they have to make sure the evidence is strong enough because if there is reasonable doubt you can't try them over and over for murder till you get a jury to vote GUILTY ° I would rather see a conviction than a not guilty verdict ° I have no doubt in my mind they want mother and daughter as well

i know she has insulated herself more than other family members - probably by design, but I still wish if they convict her brother that the state will take a stab at going after wendi even if they are unsuccessful in the end - just putting her through the misery of a year in jail awaiting trial would be some level of justice and give the Markel's a true gift in this sad tragedy

@auburn1159 I followed the case for years and I think is difficult to find evidence against her, I think she knew, maybe not the exact day or who but she knew, buuut you need to prove with clear evidence to convict her so she may never be in prison.

The ‘bump’ always seemed strange to me. A complete stranger approaches you in the street implicates that you are involved in a murder then hands you a piece of paper and you just calmly place it in your handbag and walk away. If you had no knowledge of what the guy was talking about wouldn’t you read what’s on the paper immediately. I know I would. But she just tucks it away. This is very telling behavior that the prosecution should be picking up on.

This is the only time she speaks with police even after they request she and her family. Never again until trials do we hear from her. Compare her trial testimony with the interview. Especially her drive down Trescott.

Charlie bought the TV, Harvey had the warranty in his name, Donna coordinated (because that is what she does) the tv repair from Miami. Seems like this TV, which was purchased in lieu of a hitman, was in fact purchased to be just that. Because all were connected to the purchase, it wouldnt seem too unusual for a 30 something yr old college educated woman/lawyer/adj. Prof to require all that assistance on the day Dan was killed. All one needed to do was google tv screen repair and realize forget about it.

Least involved judge I've seen in a trial in some time. He reminds me of someone that's just there for a paycheck and doesn't care otherwise. Just like so many of the healthcare co-workers I had for almost 40 years.

Rashbaum asks a lot of questions about insignificant details then never goes anywhere with them. Not very effective at making any points.

Stating the obvious, this is perfect defense for her. She knew after the murder she would be questioned by police and this was her well thought out reaction and every word she spoke in interrogation was only to help her to look innocent. She is still playing this game and it has been working in her favor as we see in this trial and all the others. She even made the suggestion to the detective stating, "could someone be doing this to help me?"
