Well that explains why daddy wolf was so upset he was looking for his mate and babies. He's just being a good dad.

Who knew there were wolves in South Africa (unless they are wolf dogs?) ..... What a beautiful family of wolves. But the fact they never gave up reuniting the family is beyond lovely..... Brilliant job!!
I know of a wolf sanctuary in Knysna or is it Plettenberg bay.. too. I've never been but we always used to pass it when we went on holiday

They look (and act) like wolf dogs, especially the puppies. There are wolves in Ethiopia, but they don't look like these wolves.
I believe they purchase wolves/wolf dogs as exotic pets, and then they release them if they can't pay/care for them any longer? This is like getting a hyena as a pet and releasing it in North America. That's what I took from the narrative. These wolves are not indigenous nor adapted for South Africa and could not compete with other savannah hunting dog species there.
She said it's because people get them as pets and then release them. 😢
Years ago, I saw a monkey at a local zoo. He was sitting by himself, looking absolutely vacant. I'm not kidding when I say the look in his eyes scorched my soul.
The zoo guide explained that his mate was recently deceased. The look of heartbreak and abject sadness in his eyes was palpable.
I will never forget it.

While wolves might be curious they are hardly ever dangerous to humans, unfortunately that hasn´t really settled with the entertainment industry. In games, literature and movies wolves are still often portrayed as vicious wild animals who will go for the throat at any opportunity and especially in the gaming industry it´s up to the player to kill as many as possible. It´s such a shame.
I do understand farmers and their concerns as wolves will not shy from killing livestock, however, we are encroaching on their natural habitats giving the wolves few options in order to survive. Humans are far more dangerous to one another than wolves will ever be.

@@AurioDK the problem here is that these wolves are not in their natural habitat South Africa has no wolves living in the wild this is again an example of human stupidity and lack of laws that would prohibit this kind of hypes to root into a society because it destroys the essence of wildlife because in the wild they will bring disharmony in the local biotope it's sad to witness this and it is a good thing there are responsible people who take care of these poor creatures

@@AurioDK Agreed. But exotic animals are allowed in South Africa? this is the worst thing ever! Its bad for the environment and for the native animals of S.A. This law should be banned. And they only attack livestock when one of the higher ranking wolves have been killed, the dynamics of the pack change and there is no alpha to pull them into line. Humans interfere way too much in the lives of wild animals. We should protect them and leave them alone and only help if needed.
Those pups are adorable. Reasons why this is why my retirement goal is to have a sanctuary.

Omg!!!!!!!!!!!! Wolves' are such beautiful animals'.
this is reminding of the sanctuary where the people there rescue wild mustangs and give them land to roam and be free once more. The lady there bought a mustang stallion who she named Blue Zeus and she made him a promise that she'll find his family and get them back to him. She spent over a year doing her best to find them, and she did.
That story the dodo did on them is still one of my favorites.

Wolves aren't indigenous to South Africa. They are imported North American grey timberwolves that people think will make cute pets...until they discover...they're wolves. Here in the American west, we get people who think coyotes look like dogs-maybe I can raise one like a dog. Then they find out...oh, it's really a coyote. Then, they dump them out in the prairie or foothills, where they inevitably breed with feral dogs and we get coy-dogs like the one in my avatar.
These are actually Canadian Timber wolves
