  • We are capping off international trombone week with a performance by The United States Air Force Concert Band and New York Philharmonic bass trombonist, George Curran!
In the second installment of our 2022 Guest Artist Series, Mr. Curran is performing an "Arthur Pryor-style" showpiece entitled "Barnacle Bill." This clever theme and variations weave several traditional sea songs into one virtuosic solo.
Please enjoy George Curran and The United States Air Force Band as they perform "Barnacle Bill."

My all-time favorite brass instrument is bass trombone, but don’t tell my fellow trumpet players! Superb playing of this showpiece in the style of the early 20th century!

Playing bass trombone is definitely an aerobic exercise - that moves a lot of air. I bet he was hungry after playing this monster! 😛Nailed it!
