Wouldn't that just be equal to saying "I wanna be Joe Alessi for bass trombone" I like this guy but I still think Joe is better. And he plays tenor lol
@@romansans1 Yeah, us Bass Trombonists don't exactly have a Joe Alessi to look up to, despite the amazing ability of some Bass Trombonists such as Fumeaux.
This comes with A LOT of hard work. Players like Lionel are very very rare but are here to not only amaze us, but also inspire us and show us all whats actually possible, so don't be down hearted folks, practice!!! :)
This guy is unbelievable. He is such a virtuoso and plays that piece with astonishing safety. Lionels high tones are amazing too. I think his abilities are unique and absolutely world class.
breathing, long tones, listen to great players and attempt to emulate their sound. A lot of listening is very important. Also, try to get a good warm up routine, like the Alessi warm up and maintenance routine. You can find it for free online. Don't use the Scribd version. Getting a tone like Lionel's takes discipline, time and consistency. Try practicing every single day. Don't go for 100 days in a row at once; rather, try going ten days practicing every day, then fifteen, then twenty, and soon enough you will have been practicing for a year. Cultivate your love for music by listening to different music as well, and try to surround yourself with other great musicians.
Doesn’t work as well on bass trombone as on euphonium, but this is very decent player. Hasn’t got the best sound though, but his technique is phenomenal.
What kind of mad lad plays harmony WITH THEMSELVES??!?!?
Lionel Fumeaux is an actual legend. This man is who I aspire to be, but with a Tenor instead of a Bass.

Nelson Moreno, Fair point.

Volt 106 or James Markey
@@aidanw.6140 Yes, I admire Markey and Charles Vernon above all, but I was using Fumeaux to make a point.
No words are available to describe the level of this bass trombonist.
I feel like calling him a god would be an insult because it's literally a downgrade
watch him play fly or die
If you ever feel useless, know there is another bass trombone in the ensemble.
Hey someone's got to play the um.. pah, um.. pah :)
I play bass trom and can honestly say I'm amazed at the speed and agility of this guy.

Wow this guy does not get the recognition he deserves
Definitely
3:22 is a bit of a fun guessing game of which octave each note will be in.
ngl when he jumped down into the petals it scared me lmao

I am just in awe of this guy and his playing! Damn son!

He did a recording of this piece back in 2016 and I must say I didn't think it could get better, I was proved wrong
Thumbs to this performance,
Truly outstanding

Don't know about that. Fast and loud doesn't equal good
@@jessecohen4517 neither does slow and quiet.
@@blahblah8037 Playing a sĺow peice well is 100 tùnes harder then playing sone super fast piece
@@jessecohen4517 not 100 times harder than playing some fast piece well.
It's easy to not notice, but that band is really good!
From a fellow Trombonist: Awesome Double and Triple Tounge Action Sir!
Amazing 👏👏👏
He’s adding vibrato to pedal notes...?! I didn’t think you could even do that with such a nice sound whilst retaining the power of the pedal
Same. I can’t imagine that the jaw technique would work so he must be doing it with some other technique
와.... 말이 안나온다ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
his tonguing speed is fucking insane
Man that trombone player sittting on the left blew my ears away on the last note
Two words... not human
El mejor, Lionel Fumeaux

He is the best bass trombonist in the world rn
Remember, Loud and fast doesn't equal good
I live Lionel as a trombone player. His tone is so beautiful, I am so close to achieving it. If anybody has any tips on reaching it I would appreciate
