- Aw, jeez, guys -- sorry for the reupload! I only noticed after I uploaded it that I ended up having some weird frame problems partway through the video. How embarrassing... At least I caught it fairly early.
Anyway, this is part 23 of Dusk Starz' Bruno is Orange MAP! The song is of the same name, written and sung by the band Hop along, Queen Ansleis. The MAP has sadly since been shelved, but it was still fun to be a part of anyway!
Anyway, the plot. It deals with Vera (the girl with the poofy sleeves) and Blik (the boy with the ponytail) who are siblings, children of Jasmine (the older lady with the bangs). After a tragedy hit their family, their mother became withdrawn and depressed, and neglected the two as a result. Without their mother's care, Blik ended up being manipulated into a position as a specific type of priest called a Sehen (which comes with a whole host of negative side effects, being that it involves physical alteration brought on by magic). Jasmine freaks out, to put it lightly, upon learning this, because her brother was Sehen before Blik, and ended up losing himself to the magic and murdering several people before he was executed. Jasmine views Blik as a very dangerous dead-kid-walking and wants to get Vera away from him, but Vera refuses to leave her brother's side, no matter what. In essence, she's forced to choose her brother over her mother.

And holy cow, this thing goes fast! I suppose I could've made it a little less frantic if I spent more time on the boards... But I was really excited and wanted to get on with it. And I still like it anyway! This is my first time using OpenToonz to animate, and it's such a good program! And also free. Mostly free. It's the first thing that I've worked with that lets me tween, which is... Probably why I overdid it a little in this one. Although on the upside, I wrote up a tweening tutorial for it!
