I personally cannot stand what Max sonics has done to Crunch and Autotek they used to be great brands. If you can find older 90s crunch or autotek that is worth the money.
I have an old autotek 4000.1D was the tits...but the mosfets kept melting at lower output oddly :( i could get it repeaired but its way too big for my car lol
Shame on you #MAXSONICS you should go out of business!! You destroy these brands like Hifonics, MB Quart, Crunch and one of the best amp in yr he 90's and earlier 2000's like Autotek
I agree with you a 100% percent! I've been in the Electronic Manufacturing business for over 35 years and I am well aware that Maxsonics used the past reputation of these brand to sell their current sub par product to the young, uninformed consumers. From misleading marketing, Amps specifications, to changing their RMS ratings to peak power output due AD-1 bench testing that proved that their RMS rating were inaccurate. You'd be hard pressed to see any AD-1 testing on any of their newer amps, simply because they won't do it or you tube channels are afraid to challenge them on their deceitful practices....
Thank you for the review! A local shop recommend this amp and thank goodness I found this review before purchasing and installing. I ended up going with a Pioneer amp because of your review. This was the 1st brand of amp I received as a gift back in 08...it sounded great till it fried after a month. My brother installed it who's been in the car audio business for years it was tuned right too
First amp I ever owned was a second hand Crunch Drive series 800 watt two channel. Silver/gray amp with neon blue fins that got hot as hell after a few hours of hard playing. But that amp survived all kinds of abuse, I only recall it going into protect once. Sold the amp when I upgraded and wish I still had it. The Crunch name will always hold special memories for me. It's a shame most people will only know them as a garbage company (which is a deserved viewpoint with their new products!)
I'm actually surprised and pleased with these numbers. Picked up the PX2000.1 for $0 and was hoping to push a 400w 12" setup. Realtime acoustics will tell the story, but you've prefaced the book. Thanks for the test!
I'm still power my subs w/ my JBL 600.1 mono amp. Its probably powered 8 - 10 pairs of subs between three different cars through out her life and still going strong. I've recently switched to just a single sub setup cause I drive a soft top jeep now. Two breakins and one freak overnight summer rain shower (left the top off overnight) and she's still kicking. If only these new amps had half the durability of amps a few years ago....but I digress.
I've an old school mtx 4250 class d 2 channel. Says 250w @ 2 ohms. Does that mean this junk would beat it at 268? I've been out of the game for a long time
I know youre not a fan of crunch but if you could make a guess , how many watts do you think the GP2500.1 produce at 1x4ohms single coil, thanks for your time
BUT, try the OLDER crunch amps. I would love to see the older crunch powerone p2000.1 on the synod. That boasted 4/2/1 ohm stable and would move my cvrs fairly decent.
My old MTX 420rms would blow a 3000 Crunch amp away lol. Crunch are bottom of the line amps in quality, power, value. The model does not even matter really.
Love this guy's videos. Good stuff man! Now I gotta go find the Planet Audio amp video. The thing about this amp is it's 20+ year old technology just made to look like newer tech. Back in 1995 it would be the same amp.
Great video man but I have to say I’m worried about your health. You seem out of breath just talking. Hope you take care of yourself bro. Can’t wait for the next video.
