Liked this. I would also like to see these swords in action being welded. This gives a more honest view of how they behave in in a persons hand.

Pretty interesting to see where some inspiration came from on the Master Sword. I didn't think it was based on any historical blade but the similarities seem self evident. Cool video!

Kind of off topic but I bought the windlass mainz gladius you showed off in another video, my god thats a beautiful, BEAUTIFUL sword. The video helped me decide on it over others, couldn't be happier.

So a few things , first great video always happy when someone analyzes the Master Sword , even better when its done on the sword's older design's , second while Im not the most well-versed in sword design I can make a pretty good guess on what the Zelda art team were trying to go for, which was to have a sturdy sword that could feasibly stand up to a variety of weapons wielded by a variety of enemies , but most importantly be able to fight monsters with thick hides and even thicker bones but not be the typical giant anime sword as they wanted to stick with the sword and shield combo , which is great for someone fighting multiple opponents at once in tight spaces but even better for a NOOB/self-taught sword fighter because that shield is gonna save your life a-lot more than you think. So as time went on they kept tweaking the design of the Master Sword to be a better wieldable weapon that can use both one or two-handed techniques used to slay monsters that sometimes carry their own weapons , all while having a shield in the opposite hand. Third if you wanna talk more about Zelda you could tackle something that no sword person has ever talked about , which is The Master Sword's in-lore predecessor The Goddess Sword as it has 3 forms that changes over the course of the adventure I swear I've seen similar designs to a real world counterpart that I think you would find interesting. But if you really wanna go the extra mile then I beg that you talk about the Iconic Hylian Shield and it's design which in my opinion is perfect especially when paired with the Master Sword as the shield follows the same design philosophy in terms of how it can be wielded.

Thanks glad you liked it. Yea it's definitely changed over the decades get into the more longsword territory with Twilight Princess up to Tears of the Kingdom. That would be cool and interesting as I have a lot of knowledge on the subject being a near lifelong Zelda fan (since 88 lol)! Maybe I'll give it a shot, but also I do historical overviews for all my swords I review and when it comes to fantasy swords like the Master Sword or in a previous review the Atlantean Sword, I tend to focus on the lore or design history of the sword in cannon of the literature. So there will be some discussion on the Goddess Sword in there for sure!
