U know what I appreciate about patmac? The fact that he keeps life interesting. That and the fact that he shows u his preparing for a task. Case in point, he was doing fly casting at home and here he is fishing for grub and peace. Awesome
Many years ago best friends great grandfather built a cabin 3 miles up from wood lake, our group of friends still use it to this day. Glad you enjoyed your trip!
It’s always interesting to see how people act and respond when they come here. I’m the 5th generation here and the Bob is literally almost my backyard.
Looks like a relaxing place to visit. Thanks for taking us with you. You are a great human being Mac. The serenity and beauty of that area comes right through the screen. I feel like I was there.
Use to back pack in lower maine years ago, sold the 5acres because of the installation of windmills, but had 8good years on weekends of God's country, miss it now very much
Thanks for sharing your trip into this beautiful country Mac. Could feel the cooling down effect when you waded into that stream. I bet the batteries are recharged after this little adventure! Please keep it up.
happy 4th. to anyone who thinks a trip to the wilderness looks fun, do it. it can be as easy or challenging as you make it. trail apps, guides, diy, its all possible. leave it as you found it, enjoy the back country
My wife and I are in Arkansas looking for land and to "practice patients" we were thinking about heading to the BOB for a week. I wish I would have known your timeline. You are the guy who first introduced me to the BOB with your yearly trips. I hope yall had a blast.
I can see why you keep going back! I chuckled when you cooled off in the water. I was salmon fishing in Alaska where the Kenai and Russian Rivers meet a few years back! That water was COLD in June!
Beautiful place!! Try coming up to Alaska! You won’t regret that trip! Shot a spring bear just last week. Happy 4th and thanks for all you did for me and my family!!
You sir are a inspiration to me and remind me of the only father figure I had in my life (my step dad) I highly appreciate you for all your content and everything you do.
Looks like an awesome trip! How about a vid on your packing list? You commented at the end it's something you never get right. I'm sure there's a lot of lessons to be shared on something like that.
Hell yeah bro, I just did a 20 mile solo trek in the backcountry (first solo trek) and my legs are DEAD. Was supposed to overnight but bad weather pushed me out the first day.
Pat Mac! Started following you about the time i left fort campbell! Love all the videos. Hey if your into the ancient civilization stuff that graham hancock has been talking about and graham carlson have talked about, look into the inca indians and the similarities of all the ancient civilizations from pre history. Pretty crazy. Theres also another engineer studying the tools used on the pyramids but cant recall his name. Take care!
Walking the Bob! Right on. If anyone knows the route Id love if they could share. If not, I'm going to try to use this video and some mapping software to find the route.
Can I come next time? I'd pay an outrageous amount to get an experience like this with someone who has the expertise during the day and stories around the campfire at night that you do
The Frank is mine….totally different feel to me than other wilderness areas. I flew in there alone for 10 days the first time…full of piss and vinegar…I left there with a new place to conquer. Still haven’t. Giving her another go this October.
The Frank is my favorite….totally different feel to me than other wilderness areas…reminds me of other places. I flew in there alone for 10 days the first time…full of piss and vinegar…I left there pretty beat up, but with a new place to conquer. Still haven’t. Giving her another go this October.
Thanks for making your content Pat! I share it with my Sons and you help me make field craft and other Basic Dude stuff more palatable to them because it isn't just Dad telling them why we do things a certain way. My goal is to raise my small humans to be capable and thoughtful people, thanks again for taking the time to make your content. Are ground squirrels good eating where you are at? They can carry a lot of funk out here, even the plague (literally). We have the little red ground squirrels out here, I have heard that the big fat grey tree squirrels back east are good eating. The only reason I know is because I had to cull 100s with an air rifle from my Dad's property, they breed super fast and they make up 70% of a rattlesnake's diet. My old man wasn't getting around as good and lived about an hour from a clinic and I was worried that the squirrels would cause a population explosion of rattlers and put him at risk. We ended up trapping a lot and leaving them out for the coyotes because we found out they were not good eating. The raccoons would snatch their limbs and dismember them from outside the cage! It was nuts, we thought it was the coyotes some how getting them but the game cam and it was a couple raccoons.
Been doing the hike above Gibson since 84. First time I was 7. I grew up here though. Sure has changed. Social media has ruined it over the last 10 years.
I'm doing some recon for a trip to Isle Royale this year. I would like to know who makes that Bonnie Hat? Thank you for another inspiring video video sir!
Hey Pat. Question. When you pack. Do you put the heavy stuff on top of the pack, or the bottom? What do you put on the outside so that it's easy to get to? Thank you in advance and great filming.. Great stuff and I appreciate all your tips and the value you provide in my life sir.. Best Regards from south central Indiana.. USA.. The heartland. Tim
I will eat tree squirrels, but not ground squirrels. Believe it or not, it is not extremely rare out west for them to carry bubonic plague! Great video!!
Why doesn’t this dude have a million followers, he has at least a million cool points with how he carry’s himself, keep it up Pat.
Indeed, Pat is the man!
Because he's not fake.
Not purchasable

Great rundown of your trip--looked like a hoot -- catching fish and taking a dip in the cold water cooling off them hot dawgs.
Lucky you! What a sane activity !!
Wilderness. Friends. Open carrying. Fishing. Camping. Dude stuff! love it.
Thanks for sharing your trip into this beautiful country Mac. Could feel the cooling down effect when you waded into that stream. I bet the batteries are recharged after this little adventure! Please keep it up.

Outfuckingstanding, thank you for sharing boss 🤘
Pat, excellent trip. Fishing is always good up into the Bob Marshall. I live nearby and access the Bob via Ovando off of Hwy 200.
Patmac and Paul Howe are the realest SF dudes out there. All go no show, which is rare nowadays
Epic
If I lived closer to BMWA I'd long ago have gone in and built a cabin well off the beaten path

Can I come next time? I'd pay an outrageous amount to get an experience like this with someone who has the expertise during the day and stories around the campfire at night that you do
Your doing a lot of boom
I always wonder while traversing terrain using visual way points or known features makes it easier to get from A-B
Come north a few hours next time! I’d love to show you some spots up in north Idaho.
I have walked from Salmon to McCall
God bless you, brother. And welcome to Montana.
Will be waiting on how that new pack is working for you.
Just had an EF4-EF5 Tornado in Alberta July 1st. Enjoy the soupy atmosphere this year.
That’s a great place the BoB and the Frank my favorites

Looks like a great time. Is there a video yet for the new pack / for any others you'd recommend?
Nice area
I grew up in the Bob Marshall ... hunting and fishing, backpacking .... my childhood
Pat you are a legend! What kind of holster do you hike with? Rock n roll!
Honestly if I could choose 1 person to have a beer with and shoot the breeze. It’s be Mac.

Cool trip! Do you ever go into Eagle creek or Hazle creek in NC?
I would happily pay into a raffle to go on a trip with Pat. Get them juicy Dboy stories too 👀
What brand boonie hat is that? I can't seem to find a good one nowadays
