*I started writing this as my thoughts on the video and it ended up becoming a long list of advice on how to improve at Overwatch.* Enjoy! My thoughts on this as a grandmaster flex support/dps: 1. Colorblind settings are personal preference. They really don't help. 2. Don't spawn camp. Unless you're smurfing, you'll screw it up. 3. Melee is one of those min/max things that while it's good to incorporate into your gameplay unless you're masters/gm there's way more important stuff to improve on (see below). 4. Hell no, don't feel like you need to talk in voice chat. Way too often people feel the need to talk and just end up tilting their teammates or giving useless info. Please never speak negatively in comms because I promise that will reduce your chance of winning significantly. Everything else was good. Definitely could've covered some way more important topics like positioning, mentality, what exactly to comm, and ult usage though. I understand you probably didn't mention them because there's so much to say about each of those. Here's my attempt: *Positioning-* Never stand in the open. You almost always should be using map terrain/corners for cover and transition from one to another. Don't jump vs dps. People still don't do these things in grandmaster and get punished for it. *Mentality-* Having a good mentality is so critical for Overwatch. If you're the type to get tilted or blame others even slightly, then mute your mic so you can't talk in voice chat. Don't get frustrated by losing a fight or even two fights back to back. That's bound to occur but it doesn't mean you can't win. Realizing that helped me so much with not tilting. Also, setting your profile to private might help if you care about what your friends think of your SR. *What exactly to comm-* You must talk about these things before not during the fight: which route the team is going to attack/defend from, what ults the enemy has, what ults you're going to use to counter their's/kill them. During the fight, you can say key cooldowns that are used like recall, but chances are no one will use that info, so just call to focus a single enemy (that everyone can attack) 2-3 times and then switch to another when they're dead. *Ult usage-* Most of this is fixed by talking about what you're going to do before a fight. Please try not to use both support ults at the same time. Also, don't hold onto your ult for 1-2 minutes. You don't want to use too many ults during a fight because you'll have less for the fight after. This is very situational, but it's better to use 3 ults to win a fight than use 2 and lose. Lastly, some other topics that should be mentioned. *Sensitivity/eDPI-* Figure out what your eDPI is. That's your DPI times your in-game sensitivity. Most pros/streamers have their's between 3000-6000 but as long as you're between ~2000-10,000 you should be fine. Don't try to justify playing at 20,000 though. *Warmups-* Don't play QP. Play custom free for alls (ffa). *Focus on yourself-* I feel the same way about leavers/throwers, but just focus on what you can do better because even the best players make really stupid mistakes that can be improved on. Use the replay system and watch one of your games every day before you start playing. It's important that you do this before you start playing when your mind is clear and not after you've finished playing for a day. *Building ults-* Ults are incredibly important in Overwatch. If it's taking you 3 minutes to build one then you're doing something wrong. For heros like Zenyatta and Sombra, who's ults have the power to decide a team fight, you need to prioritize getting your ult as fast as possible. Dying less helps a lot with that! I hope this is helpful. I've had a lot of people help me and I want to give back. Feel free to leave any questions below.
I thought of more advice: -Watch top 500 streamers that play your role and figure out why they do what they do. Watching people like Jayne do VOD reviews is another very helpful method of improving. -Stop playing after losing two games back to back. This will save you from going on a losing streak so often. -Use the avoid button. I check people's wins/losses after every game and avoid the ones that are negative. This is especially important as you rank up higher and higher because you're more likely to be on a team with them. If you get tilted by doing this for whatever reason, don't. -Everyone's trash, some are just less so. You, your teammates, and your opponents will have bad games. Don't get frustrated. Remember that the enemy team is just as, if not more likely to have toxic teammates/throwers than yours. -Make sure to play enough comp. If you're only playing on the weekends for a couple of hours you can't expect to improve. Play throughout the week for a total of 10-20 hours.
Mouse sens comes down to comfort and ability as well. I play with a eDPI of around 16000, mostly due to injuries with my shoulder preventing me from making comfortable motions with it constantly. However I still tend to have around 50%-70% hit ratio if I'm playing a hero I'm comfortable with, so still decently good. Came from TF2 however, so that may have something to do with it, seeing as most classes could move MUCH faster in general in TF2 by using jumps and turns that were possible in it's engine, such s rocket jumps that cause you to move at around 30 meters a second. Basically, it's what you can play well with, and if you feel it's super hard to nail a pinpoint shot? then lower the sens, if you undershoot a lot? raise it.
One caveat, if you have a GSYNC/FREESYNC monitor, I don't recommend turning off V-Sync. Better to keep those G/FREESYNC settings on unless your input latency is still pretty high. Everything else definitely helps though.
Would definitely recommend to find your sensitivity, it's better to be drastic with sensitivity changes than little by little changing it over the course of a week or something
The reloading secret is to always reload in your free time. Every moment you are not shooting, reload your weapon. Let's say you are McCree. You shoot an enemy and another one is coming, you kill that player and then reload while approaching the other one. Same applies to all heroes who need to reload constantly, with the exception of Bastion, Mercy, others. You can also use your melee on some heroes to reload way faster, like Reaper.

The genji at 0:19 is insane
It realy helped! I was missing Some shot due seeing the past! Now i tested a few games with ashe and It was great! Thx
WARNING: Playing on maps like Route 66 with yellow enamies will make them really hard to see with stuff like Infrasight or sonic arrow. you should keep normal colors because that is what Every map is made for. they are optimised so that you can see enamies in Red and teammates in blue without much problems. same goes for crosshairs. i would recommend to use normal setting on that.
except for colour blind people who can't see those colours...

I find this super interesting and am trying to find application or translation to my XB1 Overwatch settings; without the obvious sarcastic/unoriginal bit of “Get a pc vs the lesser platform”. Yes, I get which is better, but I play Xbox so..
Any constructive help is appreciated.
Are all the settings for input lag available on console, and if so, do they actually change anything?
Thank you!!!🙏🙏
QUESTION: So you don't need to buy Dolby Atmos for Windows 10 in order to get the FULL effect after turning it on in OW.?! I have a Logitech G933 gaming headset if that matters at all,... thanks for any help and answers.
i... changed the video settings like you said and i feel like i'm transcending dimensions. the prophecy is true.
