So calm and cold. "So I will file my petition for divorce tomorrow." That stopped her in her tracks. She believed (hoped) that her husband didn't know about her affair but he did. "I believe that you thought that I was a bigger fool than I was." "That's no place for a woman." So the nuns are...what? Poor Walter. He deserved better. 💔
this movie is very beautiful. somehow their relationship was pure in a way, I think they did the best they could, and none of them deserved better or worse, it was their way to cope with that time they were living in, people got married just bcause but none of these two humans were like other people because these two were really themselves, they were wild and free in the best way they could be, both the male and female...
A brilliant excerpt and the commentary that followed made sense of Walter's last words, perfect sense. In looking at Goldsmith's Elegy, you realize their meaning. The dog it was that died after all, when he had intended to kill Kitty.
I hate adulterers. They don't care who's hearts they break as long as they get their pleasures in the end. God will have His revenge ( style of karma)😎🔥✌🏾️
Maugham has a great way to breach the convenient, sanctimonious attitudes like yours, examining and providing context on the subject of the human heart. Read his short story “virtue” and lighten the fck up.
@@jonnyqwst Sanctimonious? Adultery has absolutely nothing to do with the human heart but everything to do with fleshly temptation. If you truly love the person you are in a relationship with then you will not hurt them by going into the arms of another. Cheaters or adulterers deserve very little to no sympathy because they know very well that what they do is morally wrong. People who do things they know are wrong deserve to be outed and exposed.
The Painted Veil such an underrated film. Edward Norton plays his character so well.
