    This was suuuper useful for my first setup! No one else had "beginner" videos like this. They all gave tips for setup but not a brand new from package type tips. No one mentioned adding the protective film other than saying to do it, not showing it. Thank you so much !!!!

    the screen protector kinda useless. my vet tank leaks and now im just praying that the resin wont leak inside since the black tape also seems unreliable.

    Maybe I missed it, does the protective coating stay on the build plate? Or is it just packaging? I’ve seen some videos remove it but anycubics own setup video and instruction booklet says nothing about it.
    I’ve worked w filament printers for awhile but this is my first foray into resin 😂 makes me so nervous to remove something that might be suppose to stay.

      The film on the build plate has to be taken off. There are times in packaging that a build plate is placed in the box without one. I have gotten printers without the film on.

    Hi CK, I need your advice, I did everything you did in the video. I printed the anycubic test file. The issue I had is that it was impossible to remove it from the plate. I ended up breaking all of the base just to get it off. What am I doing wrong? Any advice is welcomed. Keep up the great work.

    • @ckmidwestmodels1674

      Do not worry about breaking the base, I have broken many trying to get it off the build plate. It will break because there was only one support. Print something with a larger base and more supports. Just be sure to use the metal trowel with the bevel side up (opposite the plate). You will do great. Let me know if that helps. Thanks for watching.

    Thanks CK. Not too different from the old Mono but always great to see a pro do it before breaking something!

    Thank you for your video. It was really interesting, I was wondering if you felt this would be a good printer for jewelry prototyping? Not for casting just to see the design in 3D. Thank you so much Tiffany

      I would believe it would be great for prototyping. Could also be used for making silicone molds for casting. I do not know if this may help but here it is ruclips.net/video/g7pErBB1gME/видео.html

    I wanted to start to do some resin printing for the first time so I happen to see your channel and I was impressed. I’ve been watching other videos to see what I would like to purchase and they had a lot of steps. With this product what would I need to make the resin to be ready for painting?

    • @ckmidwestmodels1674
      @ckmidwestmodels1674  4 месяца назад +1

      After you made the part, it needs to be washed and cured. After that, I spray it with an undercoat of primer, usually an enamel. After that is dried you can use any acrylic paint. The wash and cure process may need some other equipment, but I have seen others do it cheaper. It is a good process using risen just be sure you follow all safety warnings.

    Amazing tutorial and super grateful for what you explained. Do you think you could potentially help me figure out why my test print doesn't want to stick to my print bed? I set it up identically to how you went about it, and sadly don't see much success so far

      First thing, clean out the vat. Reset your build plate again being sure to test paper resistance. Before you fill your vat, take some 3 in 1 oil on a tissue and oat the vat film on the resin side. Then go again.

    I opened mine, followed along. Leveled, etc. For whatever reason every time i try to print it fails. I get a thin circle on the build plate and some start of the grid from the test stuck to the bottom of the vat and that's it. Any clue why or how I can fix the issue? Im trying right now for the 9th time with an increased exposure setting to see if that helps but I am so frustrated. 😅

    • @ckmidwestmodels1674
      @ckmidwestmodels1674  Месяц назад +1

      @ashleyvurginia8449, the problem sounds like the build plate is too close to the vat on its first start. Let's review a few things in the setup. 1.Make sure you move the build plate up a few 0.1MM after you have leveled the build plate so the paper can move. 2. After that make sure you save that setting to Z=0. If those added attention to details does not work, try coating the vat film with 3in1 oil before you add the resin. I am always available to help thru my email, ptiesman@hotmail.com. Hope it helps.

      @ckmidwestmodels1674 thank you kindly for replying. I had another failed print so I just releveled and made sure to be able to slide the paper out/save the new z=0. Started another print. Hoping it works this time. Being a newbie and encountering issues can be frustrating and discouraging.

You’re a very good instructor, great step by step instructions, and demonstrated perfectly for an absolute beginner like myself! I had to go and watch your other videos once I heard you say you were making Anakin’s pod racer!!
    I just got my printer for my birthday and I hope with some practice and patience that in no time I can start making prints and dioramas as detailed and brilliant as yours!! Subscribed!
