    Just got this printer set up thanks to your video, having troubles getting print on plate. Ive had 2 stick to the film not the plate...what am i doing wrong?

    • @ckmidwestmodels1674
      @ckmidwestmodels1674 Месяц назад

      First, go over your leveling process, making sure your paper can move freely. You may have to move the build plate up a few .01 mm. Second if you have parts sticking on the film, clean the vat again but this time, take some 3in1 oil with a tissue and wipe the film. This will add to the release factor. Let me know. Thanks!

      @@ckmidwestmodels1674 Thanks for the response, I was thinking about putting it back in the box. After 6 or so attempts and scraping my test print of the plastic surface I cleaned my vat and changed to a different resin. I am about a third of the way thru my first successful build plate adhesion...don't want to call it successful print yet.

      I have since stopped using IPA solutions and moved to methylated spirits. It is cheaper and will last for a year or more without the residue at the bottom and will stay clean. As always wear gloves when handling. Also, a small blast of air can remove the large residue before you dunk the parts. Here is a link to Amazons gallon. www.amazon.com/s?k=methylated+spirit&crid=KHGF1POYU8YQ&sprefix=methylated+spirit%2Caps%2C122&ref=nb_sb_noss_1. Good luck

    I opened mine, followed along. Leveled, etc. For whatever reason every time i try to print it fails. I get a thin circle on the build plate and some start of the grid from the test stuck to the bottom of the vat and that's it. Any clue why or how I can fix the issue? Im trying right now for the 9th time with an increased exposure setting to see if that helps but I am so frustrated. 😅

    • @ckmidwestmodels1674
      @ckmidwestmodels1674 2 месяца назад

      @ashleyvurginia8449, the problem sounds like the build plate is too close to the vat on its first start. Let's review a few things in the setup. 1.Make sure you move the build plate up a few 0.1MM after you have leveled the build plate so the paper can move. 2. After that make sure you save that setting to Z=0. If those added attention to details does not work, try coating the vat film with 3in1 oil before you add the resin. I am always available to help thru my email, ptiesman@hotmail.com. Hope it helps.

      @ckmidwestmodels1674 thank you kindly for replying. I had another failed print so I just releveled and made sure to be able to slide the paper out/save the new z=0. Started another print. Hoping it works this time. Being a newbie and encountering issues can be frustrating and discouraging.

    Thank you so much for these videos, as someone who just plays w filament printers and got a resin printer bc a Mono 2 was like $200 for Prime day and now I’m getting around to setting it up and quickly realizing this is completely different to what I usually play w. Thank you so much

  • @6Oryan

    Maybe I missed it, does the protective coating stay on the build plate? Or is it just packaging? I’ve seen some videos remove it but anycubics own setup video and instruction booklet says nothing about it. I’ve worked w filament printers for awhile but this is my first foray into resin 😂 makes me so nervous to remove something that might be suppose to stay.

      Do not worry about breaking the base, I have broken many trying to get it off the build plate. It will break because there was only one support. Print something with a larger base and more supports. Just be sure to use the metal trowel with the bevel side up (opposite the plate). You will do great. Let me know if that helps. As for Resin sensitivity, we should respect it, I had by accident resin powder in my eyes from the model I was cleaning with a mini-craft tool , and this was even after it had been cured, I looked at the mirror and there was a huge blood clot on my cornea and surprisingly , I didn't feel anything , summary is Resin is toxic and it goes inside your body gradually thank's for the wise words though

    • @ckmidwestmodels1674
      @ckmidwestmodels1674 5 месяцев назад

      After you made the part, it needs to be washed and cured. After that, I spray it with an undercoat of primer, usually an enamel. After that is dried you can use any acrylic paint. The wash and cure process may need some other equipment, but I have seen others do it cheaper. It is a good process using risen just be sure you follow all safety warnings.

    • @ckmidwestmodels1674

      The 3 plus has a larger wash volume compared to the 3.0. The 3 Plus also have the two-level curing rotating table vs a one level on the 3.0. There is a price difference were possibly the cheaper 3.0 would work as fine with larger 3D printed items. I hope you enjoy printing with resin, just follow all safety steps and you will do just great. Thanks for your comment. !

    Took delivery of my six KS last week, and it came with the screen protector already installed. I am curious as to why you set and then bump it up. I’ve never had an issue using the standard method of loosening the bolts dropping it down, holding the plate in place and tightening the screws then setting this Z equals zero. I use the same procedure with my three max and my original mono 6K and over 300 prints. None of the fails were due to my leveling procedure. 10 prints in (mostly 1/4 and 1/6 figures) Using the standard any cubic resin and I love this printer.!
