You can activate a performance metrics overlay via a slider in the quick access menu under the battery tab. It will show you the fps, gpu and cpu temps, etc.
I’ve had my Steam Deck since late June. It’s a fantastic device. Playing my steam library anywhere I want is just awesome. Pretty damn good for a first generation product.
That’s great to know, I’m very interested but I was wondering about the compatibility. Are you able to play all your Steam games?
How many games have you finished thus far
@@arioca Pretty much all the games I’ve tested have worked fine. Maybe a little controller configuration, but most games don’t even need that if they are verified. It really depends on what games you want to play. As far as completed games on SD, I finished Assassin’s Creed Origins, and Heavy Rain. Both ran perfectly.

I've wanted one ever since it was revealed. Now after seeing a video where you can replace the default SSD with an even LARGER amount of SSD, and this review, I want this even more!!
Valve recommends not to do that though, because it might draw more power (their installed SSD is customized).

That's the video I was watching, and I'm gonna do what was done in the video anyway.
I recommend setting most games to 40Hz/40fps setting. Its a great middle that for me feels more like 60fps than 30fps and seems to really help the battery life. I guess its because I play a lot of low powered games & adjust various settings but I usually get about 6 hours of battery life.
Not gonna lie right before I clicked on your vid I said to myself "Buddy you're late to the party!" And then you said it at the beginning of the vid. 😅
Seems cool still debating on this or waiting on the next model
Because they are having trouble rolling it out to lots of places I bet it will be years befor a next model. Get yours now.

I will get the steam deck 2, I want more power in it AND a better solution to "dock mode" when they fix that- im all in!
I'm wondering how long will the battery last on a second model that'll be more powerful and probably have an OLED screen with higher resolution.
You will be waiting for a while for a Steam Deck 2. Like years.
its not that its hard to compare the steam deck and switch, they are for 2 different audiences.
If you hold down the "Steam" or "..." Buttons for to long it will tell you the key combinations.
Can it play the new God of war ragnarok?
Since it only just came out and it's published by sony, it's still playstation exclusive, but if you have a ps4 or ps5 you can use chiaki to play it remotely. The previous god of war game from 2018 had a PC release in January 2022, and runs okay on steamdeck at 30 or 40 fps according to protondb

I will never get one or excput the one as an gift. Steam's an computer virus ans must be treated as an computer virus. Note just like no can stop me form calling wine an emulator "since it is an emulator" their nothing anyone can say do that make stop refuring to stream as a computer virus. In fact the Windows OS to me also an computer virus so don't use Windows anymore.
