Great video man!! My grandpa had a 12’ Mustang GT premium with 90k miles. Runs strong and the thing is people that have cars with 110-130k miles still want 15k for them.
I’m glad you younger guys are coming around... I get it about the Japanese cars and it’s nice having all wheel drive in the rain and snow but you can do very little to a Mustang and have a car that will run with most anything and be reliable. If I were you and you like jamming gears, get yourself a short throw aftermarket shifter. They spring load the gate and you can really do some nice shifts without missing gears and they have the adjustable stops on them so when you shift hard you don’t bend the shift forks, the older ones with the 5 speed transmission that was a common problem and if you didn’t do anything after the forks bent the transmission would fail because the gears won’t fully engage. They are pretty easy to install if you can follow directions and have a few basic hand tools.I’m an old geezer but I’ve had many Mustangs and enjoyed the hell out of them. They SUCK in the snow if you live in the north and you have to be careful in the rain because the back tires will brake loose at 80 to 100 in the rain pretty easily I’ve owned a few old Mustangs from the 60’s and my first brand new car was an 82 GT. I’ve had an 84,86,90 GT’s and I have a 93 Cobra with a 9lb centrifugal supercharger and a few other minor things that pulled a little over 400 horsepower to the wheels on a dyno and will smoke the hell out of the tires in the first three gears. You gotta remember the Fox body cars are over 1000 pounds lighter than the newer ones and that’s a huge difference for acceleration and braking. I’m a recently retired auto mechanic with over 40 years experience with cars so if you ever need help feel free to ask me about anything car related.
Very informative! I have 6 months left in the Middle East. I know basic information about cars. I was going to get a truck when I came back to the states. But I really want a mustang😭ever since I was a kid. What kinda mustang do you recommend? From 2010 to 2015?
@@minitank2538 yeah generally the newer one you can afford the better, definitely get a 5.0 overhead cam 2011 I think was the first year for that and then about 2014-15 had the new chassis with independent rear end, if you like flying around corners those sure handle nice if you want to straight line race the old solid rear axle is better for that. I assume ur military, thanks for your service and come home safe. 👍🏻
I went from a 2017 bmw 330i sports line to a manual 2018 ecoboost base model. I know it’s an ecoboost but I got it for a really good price then I went full boltons and pro tune to 95 octane. I love this car with all my heart. The manual trans feels great downshifts are amazing the only thing I’m missing is that v8 sound but one day I’ll trade in for a GT. Lesson is buy a mustabg
Great job with the presentation! "This car just wants to go" and "There's just not enough road" are two descriptions I use often when describing driving my Mustang. It was great to hear you share that summary in your video!
These 2nd and 3rd Gen coyotes handle power insanely well, 750whp on a car you can daily drive and rev to 8k constantly and it just eats it up. The can run 1/4 miles is in the 8’s.. on a stock motor. And if you’re nice to em they’re easily gonna get 20mpg highway.
I been trying to explain the same thing to people . It's crazy because u can't go anywhere without somebody commenting on it yet it's still basic but still breaks necks. People are funny. I love mustang. Best car ever and it's well rounded. They age well too
I have to agree, I drove Import growing up from turbos civics to supras. But when i finally trade in my sti for a GT350 I have to say worth every penny and the horsepower for the bucks is totally worth it. Own it for 3 years nows.
Also a jdm/euro guy... and I bought my first 21 GT. Your videos helped with research and motivation. I was looking at Audi R8s, GTRs and more. I took a leap of fate on the Mustang... Wow... I can't even find the words. Great video content!
Great attitude. I was a child of the 60's. I have had several Mustangs and even a 67 Shelby GT-500 that I restored. Now a 65 Shelby Cobra (615 HP/2300 lbs) and restoring a 69 Mach1. Now I absolutely want a new Mustang Mach1 or 2016/17 Shelby GT350. Everything you say is true and I also have always wanted a Porsche 911. Keep doing what you are doing Cameron, love the content.
Sitting in the dealership waiting for mine to finish the ceramic coating. 2022 GT PP2 Premium!! I'm in love and this coming from a prior Challenger SRT 6M owner and yes..mine most certainly is a manual
The s550 Mustang is a great car. I bought one new in 2017. Coyotes are definitely not known for torque though. They have great power but they need some revs. A great car at a great value. I recently dropped a VMP blower on mine. Now there is real torque in it.
@@GreatBirdOfHope they are cheap and they look cool. they get you from A to B. Eco boost look like the most expensive mustangs but are cheaper. why would I get a faster car for more money, not like im racing anybody damn.
Man.. I’ve had my 16 for a while now. Let me say that it stills leaves me with a smile on my face when I drive it. There are many times where I want to drive nice and smooth, but yea you’re right. The car is always angry and just wants to go 😍
I want a mustang Bc I can actually mod it and it’s modern but everyone has one plus hardly any performance mods beside boosting it, thinking about c5z but just not modern and hardly any mods besides performance mods:(
DEADTXWN being 18 years old is making that hard 💀, even thou I’m out here doing better then most people, looking for cars like that, good thing I got a daily bc my current car was getting 9 mpg
I just found your video. Really enjoyed it. I owned in a Mustang Shelby 1967 (a present from my uncle when turning 21), which is now in my nephew’s garage in Santa Monica. That was 25 years ago. I am now 50, divorced with one kid, living by myself in North Africa, and having a test-drive appointment tomorrow with a Mustang dealer. -- I know it’s a midlife crisis. But F it. I love Mustang! I am glad to hear that you took a pause and do some thinking during the Pandemic. That’s what down time is for: To reorient ourselves. Peace!
Just bought my first car. 2013 Golf R. Love it to death and have big plans with it. If I could’ve gotten any car I would’ve gone with the newer mustang gts, but I’m 16 and apparently the insurance companies think I would drive the car quite fast and they’d be dead right 😂. Plan for me is to wait till after college then buy myself a nice gt. Great vid bro 💪🏻
I love the Mustang !it’s the best car on the road and the seats are so comfortable. you can’t beat it! I have bought 13 brand new ones and they never gave me any trouble .
Dodge aswell some of their cars are straight shit, my dad changed the tranny on his avenger and ram before 100k miles and i changed mine on my 08 mustang gt at 74k miles doing a burnout lol but it's the only things they've broken, on my aunts Silverado shiiit she probably already changed every piece in there as far as iknow a bunch of electric stuff especially lights and overheating problems, she's going to buy a camry as soon as her husband comes back from deployment
MT-82 is such a hit or miss trans. Iv driven mine with 75k miles without any issues. My buddy has 165k miles in his, also no issues. Another buddy with 80k miles, no issues. Then my best friend has lots of issues, same year as mine and his car is at about 70k miles. Sucks but my experience with it is great.
Don’t discount the ecoboost either, they are both really good. For the type of driving I do I went with a 2016 eco with almost no miles on it for 21k. I was going from a 2015 wrx, which was fun, but expensive. The wrx may have been a bit better in the backroads, but I can’t explain why the mustang just feels soo good with rwd. I’ve taken corners fast in my eco, with some light suspension mods and it hugs soooo nice.
@@thedon9670 Naa owned two wrx’s and the mustang was a better driving car hands down. The wrx’s were rattle traps that I regret buying and glad I got rid of them.
I bought a brand new 2018 6 speed manual transmission 5.0 Mustang GT. Now it’s got 39000 miles on it. I’ve had no problems with it and the only things I had to do with it were oil changes and a set of tires. It’s got a rousch cold air kit, long tube headers, and a VMP tune. It’s quick. I cruise at 70 mph on the freeways and at times I downshift to 3rd gear and floor the accelerator and work through the gears and the car just rockets forward. It’s a big rush.
My dream Stang is a 16' GT! Or a 17'. But hopefully in a couple years when I graduate college I'll be able to get one! 😍😍 And they'll be a bit cheaper!
@@kennypowers1206 unless you want a 10 speed gen 3 manuals are a no go the shift forks are made out of aluminum and if youre driving it hard (like you should be in a mustang) theyll break, if you got the money tho the automatic gen 3s are insanely fast n/a with minimal mods

When you said that at the beginning about being a JDM and euro guy I couldn’t relate more. I’m exploring getting a mustang and this is the first vid I came across and I think I’m sold. I’ve been looking for cheap horsepower and keep getting drawn back to the mustang. Never thought I would actually get one but I’ve honestly always wanted one since I was a kid so why the fuck not. Might pull the trigger boys.
I just bought a brand new 2020 Mustang GT, manual, financed 0% for 72 Months with a premium maintenance plan for an extra $2500, covers everything except my tires for 72 months 100,000 miles, including a clutch
Funny thing, I was very anti American made cars. I had a Veloster then a Veloster N. After a couple of warranty claims on the N I decided it was time to move on. I drove so many different cars and couldn't make up my mind. I was pretty sold on the Lexus RC F. We went to the dealership I drove the RC F and was pretty impressed. The salesperson had one thing I needed to take for a spin. 18 Mustang GT convertible with the Premium package. I was honestly blown away with the interior and performance. I think in the end the sound of the 5.0 coyote sold me. We walked away with the Mustang about 10k better off than the RC F and I felt it was close enough on the inside to justify the purchase. I find myself sold on Mustang and in the future I'll probably purchase a Bronco as well.
I bought a used 2016 gt350 and I think that’s the greatest purchase of my life people told it was slow for the money or it isn’t worth but tbh that is worth every dollar the way it drives and beatiful sounding voodoo that revs up to 8250 rpm and it’s a great track car I mean there’s nothing bad about the car tbh people just hate mustang because of the image and that’s what I thought until I got to drive one and know own one
I was a Subaru nut for so long, loved my bug eye to death, sadly it was too unreliable so I sold it and got a 2011 mustang GT. I can tell you there’s no way I’ll go back.
Went from a ‘14 STI and couldn’t be happier. All talking points in this vid about going from STI are 💯 accurate! I Knew I missed rwd/V8 combo, and this ‘18 coyote w/MT80 does the trick 🤪
I would never buy pre-owned GT, unless you are willing to get a Mustang that has been trashed at the race track and it's engine and transmission are on the verge of total collapse. As you can see, he floored it several times in this short clip. I have owned four new GTs in the past and all of them were delivered to me with less than 10 miles on each one of them.
Respect how you honestly put your opinion out there and explain how there are swings and roundabouts with buying different cars. But put your phone down mate.
Jacob Hooks at a Hyundai dealership in Weatherford Texas. Their mustangs sell fast because they’re always 18 below. I happened to get the cheapest one and they had brake swapped, modded the suspension, they pretty much touched everything up on it and let me walk out with 15k.
this was an amazing vid. i just purchased my first mustang GT last week. its a 2016 and i love it. i use to have a v6 and theres a massive difference in everything
I have a focus ST, Stage 3 full bolt ons, I love it, its a great car but you're correct its never going to get the power you want out of it unless you throw money at it. I'm looking for a second car and its between a vette and a GT mustang. I have the same opinions you did. "Its basic, everyone has one." but the price point is such bargain and youre not helping me make my decision easier. Think I just need to drive one and figure it out.
I also have a focus st. For the type of person I am though. I love the ST. I bought it because there is a lot of potential for them and easy to build, fun to build and somewhat reliable. And for me I like something I can build and rely on. Plus I wanted something practical. Something my family can get in. No it’s not rear wheel drive and that does suck. But it’s a lot of fun to drive, build and very practical.
Jordan Sullivan I agree!! I’m a “old guy now” almost 30. Hot hatches are something I found to love and enjoy their practically! They’re great daily, performance oriented cars with some personality that everyone seems to respect from younger to older generations. It’s just breaking into the scene and seeing everyone throw their love and attention to them! Tbh, I think performance wagons would do well in the United States.. they just need to be more accessible and price wise inline with hot hatches!! Until then, enjoy your hot hatch!!
Bruh. I'm literally in this moment right now. I initially wanted a Mustang but wanted to make and adult decision and go for fuel economy so I chose a 21' WRX. 7 months later, I've just signed papers for a 2020 GT 6 speed performance pack and get it next week. literally can't wait.
this was a great video and the mustang sounded great! I'm surprised you didn't mention the Ecoboost at all because of their high tuning potential and it'd make for a great car for those euro/jdm guys crossing over who love driving 4 cylinder turbos. The EcoBoost also has a lighter front end which makes the handling even better than the already good GT. With my EcoBoost, I threw in another $1,000 and I'm making 320 whp and 390 wheel torque with a pro tune by PD tuning. Just something to think about in your next video if you bring up mustangs again!
I've had my stock 2017 EcoBoost premium for 5 years now. She is fun to drive and has plenty of power for my needs. I've heard that PD tuning is the way to go if I ever want more power.
Me and you relate so much haha I just bought a clean 2014 gt and I always said mustangs were garbage til I actually drove one and then from there on fell in love with the power
Traded in my 17 GT for a 14 Mazda 6 because I needed something to commute 150 miles a day. Mazda was total shit, so I got a GTI. I still miss that sweet Roush axle-back I had and the effortless power. Veloster N would be a good 4cyl FWD equivalent slash downgrade.
You’re gonna catch hell for the explanation on mustangs. Mustang haters don’t understand that damn car out sells everything. Every year. Every engine , every trim. It’s the ultimate 🍆’envy vehicle 😃
Just got a 2017 5.0 with 50,004 miles on the dash. My last car which I last drove about a month ago was a FBO tuned 2015 335i so I definitely feel the Mustang slower but I really enjoy driving it for some reason. I also enjoy the remote control start and apple CarPlay that I didn’t have.
I just bought my 2018 GT Performance Pack with the Roush Exhaust and CAI 3 days ago! Holy Shit!!! Power for DAYS!!! I had no clue what I had bought until they delivered it!
Bought a 2016 gt brand new. Had to trade it in for a brand new 2018 gt when they said I could keep the payment the same. No regrets amazing car for the money!
everyone has one bc its a good muscle car and gaps any car in the 30k price range im surprised people who hate them dont consider that or realize that? lol
I almost bought a 17’ in grabber blue with 18,000 miles for 32K at an 8% apr over 6 years 4 days ago and i’m so glad I walked away and continued to save money until I more comfortably afford it. Plus it was a shit deal with hidden fees. Can’t wait to get one in a few years I love that car!
Kenny Powers you mean ecoboost? Because only other way to get that low in a GT is if it’s a base GT not leather and the other nice stuff because the premium starts at around $39,500
I bought one anyways and I'm from Colorado. Personally I have an Audi as a daily and Mustang for my weekend warrior but it's worth it especially because you have a path to forced induction or n/a which in Colorado fuck that lol. Plus the aftermarket support is the best I've seen for any platform
I got a 2013 mustang gt 5.0 love that year from 2010 to 2014 were the best ones ever made only cons about the 2013 ones that they have straight axles and a big differential like a truck since the axles are straight if one wheel.decides to act up the entire car will literally loose control or spin out... happened to be before .... when one day it started to rain i was at a light making a right turn was raining not that much roads werent that wet either since it was only drizzling as i made the turn going 20mph i total spuned out of control almost crashed onto the side walk good thing i upgraded my breaks nothing major happened.. to put calipers on a 2013 mustang you literally have to dismantle the entire differential to be able to put the rear rotors and clipers

You won't regret it but be careful because it's so much power for a first sports car and rwd. But it's a blast

Sulu_S2000 Bro I got my mustang yesterday and I granny drove every corner and still thought it was gonna take over and mow people down
This and it makes me think of the saying a manual transmission is safer because your hands are always busy
Bruh facts!!!
I said I'd never buy a mustang. Ended up buying an ecoboost and I've been having fun modding it ever since. Absolutely love it.

Good review. I think the best value is getting the 2nd generation 2018+ GT with Premium and Performance Package.
The whole stress when issues start popping up in the sti. I felt that haha
For American V8s yeah, but comparatively speaking to Japanese and European cars, it is pretty torquey.
I own a 2019 Mustang GT. I can say i absolutely love it! Really a blast to drive!
Great video! Very informative! The acceleration and V-8 sound as the Mustang GT's revs climb past 4,000, 5,000, 6,000 and 7,000rpm is a drug!
36 year old checking in. Always owned Jdm and euro cars. Just picked up a 2018 mustang gt performance pack and loving it!
I just sold my 2016 GT PP, same colour as yours. Definitely regret it but I needed a truck for winters here in Canada

I didn’t wanna buy one cause everyone on base has a mustang 😂 bought a corvette instead
Yuck. It better be the C8

Peace!
Get a 2018 Manifold on it and a Lund tune... You will absolutely love it even more.
Big difference??
Owner of a 2012 Mustang V6 and its still going strong. Have had zero issues with it and it's the best car I've ever had the privilege to own.

I absolutely love my 2021 S550. This thing is a monster and an awesome foundation for bolt on HP
Just bought my first car. 2013 Golf R. Love it to death and have big plans with it. If I could’ve gotten any car I would’ve gone with the newer mustang gts, but I’m 16 and apparently the insurance companies think I would drive the car quite fast and they’d be dead right 😂. I love the Mustang !it’s the best car on the road and the seats are so comfortable. you can’t beat it! I have bought 13 brand new ones and they never gave me any trouble .
I’d maybe consider buying another ford... whenever they decide to make a transmission that doesn’t eat shit on all their consumer vehicles.

Lol that's a joke right? 😅

I did that maintenance plan for my focus st, kinda nice peace of mind
Hows your mustang? Do you daily drive it? I’m in the same position right now looking at the rcf and mustangs can’t make my mind up 😂😅

Honestly,... the "everyone has a mustang" was my excuse but i think im going to go ahead and grab the 5.0..

I actually just made the switch from a 350z to a mustang like 2 months ago.

Until then, enjoy your hot hatch!!

this was a great video and the mustang sounded great!
