- This is how to find a rare hot rod fighter ship in No Man's Sky. The Expeditions update for No Man's Sky changed a lot of things, and it improved the variety of Explorer Ships in the game. While searching for a new fighter ship I ran across this post in the NMS Coordinate Exchange on Reddit and it is awesome. This is a purple looking hot rod fighter ship in No Man's Sky. It isn't a deep purple, but a blueish purple with chrome. Such an amazing fighter ship and a rare one too!

They could add a ship paint shop, expand the machine that adds storage units to ships to have it paint in better detail

Although a ship paint customization would be cool I feel like it would ruin the whole community of trying to find the coolest looking ships.

honestly this game has improved a lot but i do feel there needs to be more additions to make multiplayer feel more collaborative like having a shared ship that everyone has their tasks to do inside. kind of like star trek
Duuuuude like a “guild” or “crew” system and have like actual abilities to go adventure and do quests
They need to take a page out of Star Citizens book. We need to be able to get out of the pilot seat and walk around in our ships. And anyone in our group should be able to get in and walk around in the ship.
The whole story/lore of the game is that you are a lone traveler

For people choosing to hunt this ship, or any ship for that matter, it's a good idea to NOT land your ship on one of the trade post platforms. Doing so takes up another slot for NPC ships to land on. This will allow up to 5 ships to be landed at the trade post at a time, as opposed to 4 ships if you had your ship parked on one of the pads.
You can either land near the trade post and jetpack over, or you can land on one of the pads and then use the "summon vehicle" function in the quick menu to move your ship to the ground.
I highly recommend doing this as nothing hurts more than seeing the S class ship finally flying in, only for it to turn around and fly off because there's no free spaces for it to land on.

I did that, and all 7 pads had at most 5 ships on them at a time.
@@gbennett58 And you should only get at most 5 ships. The game will leave at least 2 landing pads open at all times, even if one of the pads is taken up by a player. If no player owned ships are on any of the 7 pads, then 5 NPC ships will land at the trading post on every reload.
You won't lose any S class ships if they can't land, they just circle in a holding pattern until a pad opens up :)

Since you have to wait anyway, you can reload your save every few landing cycles, because when you reload the ship classes are reloading as well and one of the first five ships is gonna be an S class if I remember correctly. That was the trick to get S class ships before they implemented the ship upgrade station.

I GOT ONE!!! It's an A-Class. At first I passed up on it. I noted the specs . No 'S showed up, didn't take long at all AND probably not in my budget anyway. The weather was HORRIBLE when I was there, DARK all the time and Heat storms. :-) Anyway got one and thanks Jason & Reddit people!
This was the very first ship to land for me and it was the S Class. By the time I got to the top of the building and looked down, there it was! Very lucky!
I had to go to the space station. Too many people built bases too near the trading posts. no npcs would land there due to some bases having landing pads. Still got an A class after about 10-15 minutes after getting to the space station.
When I get to the trading post, I like to use my terrain manipulator to make a dirt pole high enough to be able to see all the pads at once without rotating my camera, then I make a little dirt canopy over top to protect me from weather

I borrowed your technique...boosted to the roof..someone has prevented save beacon placement. I was getting up and saw it whiz by. I reloaded my auto and honest! it wasn't 3 minutes and bamm! Got it for 2.5 , 1.5 ..dont remember! So cool ! My first big boy fighter.

Although it is still the best way to look for ships, they have still seriously nerfed the amount that come down to land. It used to one of my favourite things to do, now I find it annoying. Bring back our ships 🤣🤣

Got an "A" class in less than 20 minutes on PS4. Reloaded 5 times after the first wave and bingo :))
I found one which has the same general shape except it is gold and chrome and it has 4 glowing blue circles on either side of it's nose.

I’m hoping one day you can actually walk around the interior of your ship as well as friends ships, and the freighters NEED to have more default storage slots. Also maybe a space station interior re design?? Needs some colour and more life to it, with such a vast universe it feels like the cross roads where all the species meet is very bare
Got one just as i landed at the second trading post! B-class. Waited around for another half an hour. Another two popped up in that time. Managed to get a nice looking s-class for a different ship as well 👍i would suggest waiting for 20 minutes max before moving on to the next outpost. Great vid, thank you

I've been trying to get this ship, been waiting about 5 hours. I wait ship hunting whilst I'm doing paperwork, I'm not that obsessed lol. I haven't seen even one of these ships. I've found your ship hunting videos very helpful, this is the first which has led to nothing.
I finally found this ship. I found that the ship was flying around but not landing. I managed to get it by visiting a trading post that had no base features placed by players.
Here late but hella based on this location now and there’s places people made specifically for farming ships. Having like 20 landing pads all in one area

The planet I woke up on, I searched around until I found a trading post with a bunch of landing pads. Hung around there for about an hour looking at the different types of ships that would come and go, wondering if a high tier ship would drop for a brand new player. Spoiler alert, the answer is “sometimes yes”. After some time, I started to see a pattern. While you’re waiting and observing, check the ship types that are “rolling” in, and after more than one explorer type lands at once, exchange your ship for one of them. (I start with the explorer ship option because they just seem to have better starting rolls than most other ship types, and what ships roll in can be tied somewhat to what ship you currently possess.) After you’ve traded in for a better ship, hang around until you see the same exact ship model and type you just acquired land again. Odds are pretty good that it’ll have slightly higher stats this time. You can keep exchanging your current model for the next one as many times as necessary, making each replacement a little more powerful. Sometimes the next ship will look identical but have just a bit more hyperdrive range or better firepower (the maneuverability will always stay the same). Sometimes it will be a higher class. Once you’ve done this enough times, you can end up with a true beast of a ship without ever upgrading, and you can “max out” what kind of ships will “roll” in for that specific model, so the game moves on to the next ship type, and in my case it moved on to Exotics. For instance, after doing this for hours, I ended up with an A class explorer worth 30 times as much as my starter ship, but eventually no higher tier ships were rolling in. That’s the sweet spot you wanna sit at for as long as you can stand, because after some time a range of exotic ships just might roll in. Before I even left my first planet, I had an S class exotic ship, I went with the flying admiral because it already had some upgrades I couldn’t yet afford, but I had three others right before it, all exotics B and A class before I finally found an S class one. After that, it’s about grinding to afford the hyperdrive upgrades, but you’ll have a beast before you leave your first system if you do it right.
Nine months later and this still works. Well, im still waiting on the s class, ive been here 10 minutes and have seen a c class every wave, plus the 3rd wave had a blue and grey 19+6 exo. Thanks for the videos!

Like you said, i was one of the lucky ones, it was a blue/black one and it was litterally the fist ship that landed at that trading post. it is a B class with not many slots, but i upgraded it (as i was in creative).

I just started playing NMS and I love it. It gave me a reason to dust off the VR for my PC.
So strange to see this as I've had this ship for ages without realising there was anything all that rare about it. I just spent a little time hunting around for a fighter and this was the one I settled on looks wise. It wasn't even a great loadout or class, but it's not like units and nanites are hard to come by these days to upgrade stuff. It's S class now and nearly maxed for slots. Mine is a different colouring to yours. More red and pretty consistently so across the ship body.

Half my ships is from the same Euclid, outlaw planet where I found not one, but 3 trading posts on one same spot. Solar ships, squid ships, long nose fighters, movie-like haulers; come and go nonstop.
I was like: WTF? Jackpot! Quickly i built a base next to it (its uploaded).
Awesome thanks, I got an S Hauler and after waiting like 1-2 hours I got A of that fighter ship here. After saving the game, I went back to the spot and BAM S fighter of this ship appeared. Thanks man :D

If you want a certain ship really bad, just get the first one you see and grind nanites for the upgrade(s). Takes roughly an hour to farm approx 70k nanites as runaway mold
I know this is a very old comment, but what do you mean by that? How does Nanites help get a specific ship??

August 2024 still shows up. Too many bases and no NPC ever landed at Depots. Space Station works. Saw a B and two C's within maybe 15 mins. It shows up around every 5 mins or so from landing. Thanks, good looking Fighter

2) to the people adding extra landing pads to the trading posts, you are screwing it up. I've noticed that when this is done, way LESS ships land. Literally like 1 ship every few minutes instead of like 5 every 1 minute. This happens EVERY time I get a ship through one of these youtube videos. What I end up doing is going to a trading post that isn't close to the glyph portal and find way less tampered with trading posts with way MORE ships landing. I get what you guys are trying to do "more pads = more ships" but that is not the case. It ends up bugging it somehow. The landing pads the trading posts come with are enough, no need to add more.

People have added so many landing ports around this place that it's made it impossible to get this ship at this location anymore, with the orbital pack now out it's best to do this in the Space Station. I was on the planet for over an hour when I finally saw the ship land. Only for it to have landed at another landing port some asshole built near the trading post. I wasn't able to get to it fast enough.
You get a much more consistent flow of ships on the Space Station.
I run into this shop more than the starter ship and golden vector lmao.
Someone really needs to help this guy with what "Rare" actually means.

unfortunately griefers killed this location, placing bases IN and next to the station witch many landing platforms, paticulary hidden under terrain, so npc ships can land but no player ships. So every ship spawning will land somewhere and you have to wait for minutes so even one ship will land on the trading post. Thanks griefers...
I found the same Trading Post initially. There's at least one other trading post on the other side of the planet. Although it has also been built on, it compliments the hunt and doesn't prevent ship landings.
I found it in about 40 min. Thank you, I always was too lazy to wait that long. This time it payed out und very fast too.
Don't know if anyone else has said this, but this trade port also has a blue a gold exotic ship as well.
When I got to the outpost it was surrounded with many bases so I could not put down a manual save beacon, however I flew over to the space station and it showed up as a C-class in the first wave of ships

I was lucky enough to find an abandoned B class. Just had to repair the thrusters and engine, and swap it with one of my crappy ships from my fleet.
I was at the trading post for about 10 minutes and nothing ever landed. Lots of vessels flying around, but nothing ever landed. However, I had better luck getting it on the space station.
I hate how people build in the ports, like do you have no respect for other players? Save beacons are one thing, but full on bases around a port is just rude. I'm on Xbox and because someone built a base around the port, no ships will come in. Can someone report whoever built here?
I did report them... its ridiculous and i was deviated about it too lol people suck sometimes..

Honestly, i feel like hello games should add full cosmetic mods, not just like the freighters the colors but full style changes. Like fully different wings, engines noses cockpit everything with some logical limitations like you can't get fighter bits on a shuttle or hauler nor like the x-wing-like shuttle wing bits on like a fighter for obvious reasons
Still works but couldn't find anything above c class and found the most in the space station so I couldn't get the save beacon but wasn't bothered cause I just loved the look of it
Just watched the video, went to the co ordinates, found the trade post, got this fighter as s class second ship to land aswell as blue exotic snitch land next to it

All the ships shown on this channel are almost irresistible, but I've decided I want to find them on my own rather than using NMS Coordinate Exchange or similar group I belong to on FaceBook. I'm not sure why. Maybe I feel the ships ill be unique to me, or nearly so. I still can't resist watching the videos.

This ship is a rare spawn in the system. So even getting it to appear is a pain in the ass let alone getting a natural S class.

Been here for over an hour. Loaded auto save because I can’t build near the Outpost. There is some asshats base terminal on top of it. Nothing has landed. I think this site has been killed…
Update: Go to another planet in the same system and do the same thing. Found an A class one as I landed at a different outpost. ☺️
I think it's broken also. Ships aren't landing and there's a bunch of bases built all around it.
Well, I've been to get it and it's turned up a few times. However all C, B, and A class! I will have to keep going back 😀 I did get a lovely S class exotic though, lizawa's transporter XY6!
Ok just did this... Great Vid as always BTW.. Seems someone has now built on the trade post... (and added more landing pads) which seems to have stopped ships from landing... 🤦♂ just stragglers dropped in so I went up to the space station and immediately got a B class, then after about 30 mins an A class.... Then just as I was going to go and do the 50K nanite upgrade to S class.. BOOOM! (to quote your classic expression.. ) an S class just rocked up!!! So thanks a bunch for posting.
its good for people that missed the expedition golden ship reward . My preference it's always for the gold one :P
