  • This a mini-lesson for late-beginner and intermediate students on how to tune professionally before performing a very delicate piece in front of an audience. This video is a collaboration with GEWA Music and Manuel Rodriguez Guitars. It features a demonstration of the incredible and affordable Rodriguez Magistral D-C cedar solid-top guitar.

🥇🏆❤🎉 I'm an older adult beginning to play. You're a great inspiration. Is this a new series you are starting? I think it's great. Any pointers for older players taking up classical guitar?

Thanks so much, Manuel. This is a new series and I really appreciate your support. For older players, I highly recommend working on strength for bar chords and slurs, doing exercises that build stretching capacity, and extra focus on lightness/relaxation. Of course, I recommend these things in one way or another to younger players too, but many older adults that start the guitar have a tendency to squeeze their left hand excessively to compensate for deficient technical areas. Warning-up to avoid injury is also a must. I hope that helps.

@@PiotrPakhomkin yes thanks. J S Bach is one of my heroes, and I aspire to play his music. I wish you well and a great wealth of success on your new adventure in sharing your musical knowledge with others 🥳🎉💪
