Nice to hear their honesty, but Chelsea just made a terrible mistake. The games he was allowed to play in Chelsea, he performed very well. In Bremen on loan he was just outstanding. It was a massive blunder, I did not understand it all back then, and I am just a guy who watches football every weekend. Unbelievable. If Mourinho wasn't such a narcissist, he would admit it was one of the dumbest things he ever did, and he did a lot. Having De Bruyne in your team makes you 20 % better, at least
Timing is everything man, he was just at Chelsea at the wrong time. Even though he may have played well in some bit-part games, nobody could have foreseen how well he would go on to be. You can't tell me you watch KDB at Chelsea and thought he would be the best player in the Prem at some point.

As a super fan (maybe biased as a Belgian), yes I would of predicted him to be one the greatest on his position, simply because he allready was at that point. He experienced just how great he could be at the 3 other teams he played for up until then (Genk, Werder and Wolfsburg) and made the smart decision to leave.
