I used the forest gnomes ability to speak with animals to ask a bunch of mice if they had seen the murder that we were investigating happen eventually I found a mouse that saw the murder and I used the information the mouse gave me to solve the murder #AnimalBroForLife

Svirfneblin Circle of Spores is the best! Gusamon Gusfun is one of my favorite characters ever. It is neat how svirfneblin are as dense as the stone, when I first noticed that I thought it must be a mistake. I never much liked gnomes until the past year or so and now I l9ve the little folk.
I have a Forest Gnome Totem Warrior Barbarian - specifically because it's non-typical. I set his point-by to the fairly common barbarian setup (15 STR, CON, DEX & 8 INT, WIS, CHA). For his totem's he'll be going all Eagle. The character is an homage to the character Keyop from Battle of the Planets. He rarely speaks vocally, emoting mainly in chirps and whirls and occasionally using his minor illusion to express complex ideas. He often play-acts at being a bird, to the point that some wonder if he has a screw loose and really thinks he is a bird.
I really want to play a forest gnome arcane archer. It just looks really fun. You'd have the connection to nature with the beast speech and druidcraft, and be absolutely amazing with enchanted arrows, with a splash of illusion magic.
I am currently playing that.. the dm was nice enough to not limit me to a shortbow. Got some ideas for about 12th level but not gonna post that here since I'm only 10th level currently. (grasping arrows rock)
My longest played and current character is a rock gnomelore bard/artificer. He plays a hurdy gurdy. The perfect instrument for tinkerers. He has recently become obsessed with trying to use constructs to help him overcome the problems of being short.
I am currently playing a deep gnome circle of the shepard druid. My saving throws are outrageous and I just summon spiders or the out of the abyss exclusive beast gaint cave badgers or rocktopus. This is has been one of my favorite characters simply because he is very flavorful for the campaign.
I'm playing a Goblin Gloom Stalker sharpshooter. It's super fun. I can either bonus action hide, or be invisible in darkness. In two levels, I'm going War Cleric for bonus action attacks with bows

Rock Gnome Barbarian. gnome cunning and move through medium creature spaces. You don't get to use big weapons, but that's not really a big problem. What's much better is your resistance to magic during rage, And your unrestricted movement :3

Hehe, my first ever D&D character was a gnome barbarian. Intelligence wasn't even a dump stat, but Wisdom absolutely was, so she was still pretty dumb even if she knew a lot of stuff.
The variant human also can have plus 2 intelligence by taking a feet that gives intelligent like Keen mind, linguist, and resilient-intelligence(not a good option for a feet) then pick intelligence and another attribute.

Second only to human, I think the variants of gnome provide the most variety for class builds. This is true whether you're looking for breadth of options during gameplay, or depth of focus into a particular role that will round out a party. Few characters will reach the number of turn-by-turn and out-of-battle choices that a gnome has when they're a druid, bard, cleric, or rogue. I find, in most games of D&D, your power isn't about how useful you are in a particular situation, but how many different situations you're useful in. To that end, it's hard to beat the gnome. Conversely, there's also no one that more exemplifies the defensive or utility wizard than a very streamlined gnome build. If your gnome is a committed spellcaster, you may not even need much more magic in the party than that.
Gnomes are honestly a race I just haven't touched. Almost have a few times, but ended up going Halfling or Duergar or what have you. Those excellent saves definitely do go well with Druid, particularly if you're focusing on your mental stats anyway. With Rock Gnome that'd make an interesting tech / nature contrast. Wizards are an obvious fit like you guys said. I think Paladin is a solid fit though as well. Paladins are excellent at saves as of around 6th level and Gnomes stack with that nicely. Int is usually a paladin dump stat, but it doesn't have to be. You can dump strength and wisdom and still have a functional Paladin that specializes in Dex. How many Paladins truly get strong Religion and History scores, right? And it's also an excellent excuse to go sword and board since most if not all 2 handed weapons are 'heavy' and ill suited for small races. All the gnome subraces can definitely be interesting flavor wise. A paladin that's friends with small animals? Perfect. A paladin with gadgets they like to fiddle with is funky and almost like cantrips for a no cantrip class. Deep Gnomes would have a classic underdark race gone good feel and it's less against the grain for them too as a not necessarily evil race.
Get rock gnome arcane trickster ad shalatan background, and you get a classic hitman from hitman series. Getting sneaky or in disguise, heavy hitting or making deadly traps from scraps.
Best class for Gnome is Fighter. Barbarian also *kinda* works. Fighter gets all the Feats/ASI. Means that you should be able to get 20 STR, and 20 CON, and buffs to movement speed. If you see a Hulking Half-orc pick up a boulder and throw its not too crazy. Seeing a Gnome do the same thing is MUCH more impressive. Same thing goes for shrugging off huge hits of damage. Troll smashed you into the dirt? Just pop back up and no sell it. Fighter also gets a bunch of attacks and action surge. Bursts of speed. Very much in flavor for the tiny unstoppable dude. Eldritch knight also means you can make use of your INT. Or the Magic Init feat. Advantage on mental spells also helps out the Fighter a TON. Its harder to throw debuffs at that class. So there's also some actual synergy with it.
I was waiting for Monk to be suggested. The monk being fast negates the movement speed penalty from being small. This penalty can be rough for melee fighters and paladins, making those classes less appealing. (melee rouge still works) The +1 AC from being small is great for any class, but especially melee. Thematically, the gnome cunning resistance to mental magic is just perfect for a disciplined mind. And most importantly: You can kill a giant by punching them repeatedly in the achilles tendon with your tiny hands.

Gnome illusionist/theif ad&d. So many good times.. So many wallets....we always rolled our stats and I rolled a high charisma with a good enough dex and intelligence to play the character. He was my showman/con man. Bards where alot more difficult to make back then vs now. Anyways what do you guys think?

Generally outside of combat, she's happy go lucky, friendly and a ginger wearing cute overalls. She tinkers with building beautiful dolls and toys that also manifest creepily with her powers and become her familiar from her pact. 😄 Her patron is generally on the side of good and so is she, despite her evil intimidating appearance. It's just that the patron is a trickster, so has made her request to help others as difficult and twisted as possible, lol.
Deep gnomes are the best at stealth They have superior darkvision without sunlight sensitivity and they can cast Nondetection an unlimited number of on themselves for free with a feat.

Hey Ted & David, did you guys play AD&D. The one rule I always dislike, if you wanted to be a illusionist with full casting abilities, you had to be a Gnome. Well now that I think about it there was a few rules that I really didn't like, (the grappling system sux). Thank goodness for 5e it was only 25 years in the making. I rolled a Svirfneblin Barbarian once as a joke. I needed up rolling crazy high. 17, 16, 16, 15, 15 and 15. Into is a dump stat and after racial adjustment it was equal to my strength. Lol.
I'm a new player, and I definitely want to play a gnome (maybe forest or maybe rock) but I'm not sure if I should play a bard or a Druid, if you have any specific advice for me I would appreciate if you would comment it, thanks!
... they mentioned Wizard? It's the only class that really demands intelligence. Also mentioned Int using physical subclasses, Arcane Trickster and Eldritch Knight. Those are all probably top tier if you want to use those bonuses to Int and dex to the fullest. Artificer as well if you're using Unearthed Arcana.

Best is subjective. Strong saves added to druids or adding even more to paladin saves is a very worthy consideration. They also mentioned the infinite arcane ward abjuration wizard. That's insanely good. Here's why with more detail for you. That's go into every combat with +9 HP minimum, that's for a Deep Gnome at level 4 with a 12 int. At level 6 with a Deep Gnome actually TRYING to be a Wizard, probably with an int of 18, that's 16 HP per encounter, which also acts as a buffer for keeping concentration checks from happening- to cause a concentration check an enemy has to pierce your ward- it's a separate HP pool than your own (and it also doesn't stop your character from having their OWN temporary hit points). It's also sharable, if need be. Basically, Deep Gnomes are the ultimate hearty wizards if you take the Svirfneblin Magic feat. And the spells that come with that aren't bad for keeping you healthy either. In theory you'd actually be incredible for out of combat tanking. Fall in a hole? Ward takes it, make ward strong again. Arrow trap? Patch that ward up again.
When Arcane Ward is damaged you can recharge it with a level 1 or higher abjuration spell, Deep Gnomes get a infinite level 3 abjuration spell. You can charge it all the way up repeatedly out of combat. Even when it's dropped to zero it isn't 'gone'. Specifies it in the ability. The reason you can't make a 'new' one until after a long rest is that it'd be easier to let it go to zero and cast a level 1 spell for a full new ward. The way it is keeps people from doing that. Deep Gnomes just don't really have to care, unlike most other creatures.

All of the videos in this series are very disappointing. They are all just clickbait. You say in the titles "best class" singular. But you never say the best class. All you do is give options. You need to either change the title or give us what we expect from the title of the videos.
Wizard...one of those races in the phb made with a specific class in mind. Or if you wanna go homebrew, I made a gnome MechWarrior class. Lot of fun, still don't have it balanced just right yet. Oh and don't forget that in addition to being powerful magic users they are also adorable. So make them guild artisans in the lollipop guild, or maybe have them be candy makers who speak in rhyme, remember to have fun with the fact that they are gnomes.

I think the wizened old gnome loremaster is a classic, and the diviner wizard really lends itself to that.

I play a rock gnome ranger and I’m the “tank” of my party with an ac of 19. Makes for some hilarious situations. Super fun to play.

Yeah, I was going to mention this as well. They are perfectly suited to monk well at least Svirfneblen and Forest Gnomes anyway.
I think Cleric Domain of the Forge would also be a good fit for the Rock Gnome
Church of gond is based in the closest thing to the gnomish homeland.
I really like Deep Gnome Warlocks with the racial feat and magic initiate. So many at will spells and once a day spells.

... there's no +1 to AC bonus for small races. Not in 5e.

I rolled a Svirfneblin Barbarian once as a joke. I needed up rolling crazy high. 17, 16, 16, 15, 15 and 15. Into is a dump stat and after racial adjustment it was equal to my strength. Lol.
I don't know about Class but Background should be Guild Merchant.

I'm a new player, and I definitely want to play a gnome (maybe forest or maybe rock) but I'm not sure if I should play a bard or a Druid, if you have any specific advice for me I would appreciate if you would comment it, thanks!

You went over the "unexpected" classes, which received no stat benefits from the gnomes, but what were the best classes for gnomes?
... they mentioned Wizard? It's the only class that really demands intelligence. Also mentioned Int using physical subclasses, Arcane Trickster and Eldritch Knight. Those are all probably top tier if you want to use those bonuses to Int and dex to the fullest. Artificer as well if you're using Unearthed Arcana.

Best is subjective. Strong saves added to druids or adding even more to paladin saves is a very worthy consideration.
They also mentioned the infinite arcane ward abjuration wizard. That's insanely good. Here's why with more detail for you. That's go into every combat with +9 HP minimum, that's for a Deep Gnome at level 4 with a 12 int. At level 6 with a Deep Gnome actually TRYING to be a Wizard, probably with an int of 18, that's 16 HP per encounter, which also acts as a buffer for keeping concentration checks from happening- to cause a concentration check an enemy has to pierce your ward- it's a separate HP pool than your own (and it also doesn't stop your character from having their OWN temporary hit points). It's also sharable, if need be.
Basically, Deep Gnomes are the ultimate hearty wizards if you take the Svirfneblin Magic feat. And the spells that come with that aren't bad for keeping you healthy either.
In theory you'd actually be incredible for out of combat tanking. Fall in a hole? Ward takes it, make ward strong again. Arrow trap? Patch that ward up again.
@@SolarFlairIsBestPony The recharge on Arcane Ward is only 2 times spell level. You can't make a new one until after a long rest.
When Arcane Ward is damaged you can recharge it with a level 1 or higher abjuration spell, Deep Gnomes get a infinite level 3 abjuration spell. You can charge it all the way up repeatedly out of combat.
Even when it's dropped to zero it isn't 'gone'. Specifies it in the ability. The reason you can't make a 'new' one until after a long rest is that it'd be easier to let it go to zero and cast a level 1 spell for a full new ward. The way it is keeps people from doing that. Deep Gnomes just don't really have to care, unlike most other creatures.
Densest race? 3 ft, 90 lbs? A 6 foot tall human usually weighs 180 or more, so that's the same. Dwarves are denser

All of the videos in this series are very disappointing. They are all just clickbait. You say in the titles "best class" singular. But you never say the best class. All you do is give options. You need to either change the title or give us what we expect from the title of the videos.

Wizard...one of those races in the phb made with a specific class in mind. Or if you wanna go homebrew, I made a gnome MechWarrior class. Lot of fun, still don't have it balanced just right yet. Oh and don't forget that in addition to being powerful magic users they are also adorable. So make them guild artisans in the lollipop guild, or maybe have them be candy makers who speak in rhyme, remember to have fun with the fact that they are gnomes.
