My daughter will be so disappointed! She loves this ride! She also loved "Disney Quest". So, two of her favorite attractions will be gone within a short amount of time. So sad!
Yes, it really needs to go. There are so many wonderful things that they could do with this area. Dinoland USA seemed like a cheap comp out when money become right while building the park.
I hope this is true. When my bf & I rode primeval whirl last week the brakes were literally screeching at every turn. I was beyond terrified, it needs to go.
That would be cool... though Legoland Florida and Story Land (NH) both already have junior wooden coasters with a dinosaur theme. (I've ridden Story Land's--it's actually a pretty wild ride!) Disney's would have to do something more to distinguish itself, if only in heavier theming.
It’s funny you say that because a wooden rollercoaster with dinosaurs called the excavator was originally planned for that area but was reworked to become dinosaur.
Emma Cantrell if one The Good Dinosaur wasn’t a total box office disappointment. From what I’m hearing, I think you’ll be pleased with what they do with the rest of dinoland
thank god they are killing it but remember the original plan witht eh crazy fire and ice roller coaster i could see them putting in a big thrill coaster thats not wooden and is a steel with the newest animatronics and the newest thrills a ride could give
i mean the area was supposed to simply just be filler until something takes the spot. primevil whirl is something you can find at a crappy fair and the coaster will be a major upgrade.
From a theming/storytelling perspective, they have the problem that if they make Dinoland USA something more like Jurassic Park, with scary realistic dinosaurs all over, then there's less rationale to ride Dinosaur (which is a great ride, not something they'd want to undermine). Most parks probably wouldn't care about the incoherence of it, but Disney would. So if they want to keep the Dinoland theming at all, they probably want to keep it more goofy and family-friendly out in the open. If Pixar's "The Good Dinosaur" hadn't been kind of a flop, I'd say to take some inspiration from that. In any case, more family coasters are great things to have at a Disney park. I'm not too fond of the whole spinning Wild Mouse concept, so I'm probably in favor of the change.
I think if they made DinoLand like that it would be easy to adjust Dinosaur's story. they could just say something like it is a Dino Expedition company, and you have to save the iguanadon or something like that.
Dinoland as a whole should be replaced by South America. They could have a roller coaster themed to the rainforest, and reskin DINOSAUR into Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
Really, of all the themed lands at Disney World, Dinoland USA (apart from Dinosaur) is probably the one I had the least emotional attachment to. Not a big loss, regardless of what they do with it.
It seems like this will likely be a family-friend iteration of the Excavator, the attraction that was supposed to be the original E-ticket for the land. Although I will be sad to see Primeval Whirl gone, they have plenty of room to expand and still keep it. I hope they don't remove it. If they do, they would also have to remove Triceratops Spin, which is one of the few attractions in Animal Kingdom that little kids can ride and have fun on. I don't think Disney would compromise some of its audience like that.
King Poseidon, kids can go on Kilimanjaro Safaris, Na'vi River Journey, It's Tough To Be A Bug, and see all the animals, and you forget that most kids that are tall enough will go on the larger rides.
Wait a minute. I went back to walt Disney world 2019. And I still see primeval whirl. How will it be gone when I still saw it. And you said closing soon in 2019. This is odd weird
Dinoland’s Overhaul project (which includes the removal of Primeval Whirl) has been pushed back, the ride is still slated to be removed, so enjoy it while it’s around
I'd rework the Dinosaur attraction, switching to Indiana jones .. Adding a fully themed Indiana jones land . If anywhere on WDW property ,Jones would fit in best in Animal Kingdom . Theming to a south American location you are first greeted by a 1930's style village where you can find local eats , a market selling all sorts of local wears and rare items from the Incas . also incorporating a live action stage where you can enjoy ( as a walk through ) the music and strange stories about a the tribes and a golden idol that has mystical powers . further into the land there are an adventure into the rain forrest where there are animals , bugs and birds. this water/rollercoaster ride would not only showcases the animals of the area but also has a back story for Indiana Jones ...the final room features a huge animatronic snake and a huge plunge .. jocks air plane greets you off the ride pushing you fully into the Indiana jones theme . this is where the old Dinosaur ride comes in as a ride through the adventures of Indiana jones .
Yes please, the Chester and Hester section always took me out of the immersion that Disney is known for. Also, the cardboard sections of the coaster always left a bad taste in my mouth..
Jared Goattastic the only issue is it doesn't fit with animal kingdom. Plus I would rather get a Indiana jones ride somewhere in adventure land or maybe even a Indiana jones land in Hollywood studios
jon on snow I'll give my honest opinion. I think pandora would be better in Hollywood studios than animal kingdom. I also think animal kingdom's theming is not the same as it was when it opened. A lot of the rides are themed to mystical characters such as avatar and expedition Everest.
Jared Goattastic well that's because the theme originally where real Animals, animals that are extinct, and animals that never existed. We never got to see the third one because it never happened but they put world of avatar which is more focused on the animals in its place
jon on snow I just still feel like it would be an awesome land to see and I feel like it isn't too far off from animal kingdom. It keeps the wilderness adventure theming.
Jared Goattastic, but Indiana Jones doesn't fit in Animal Kingdom(the primary theme is neither animals nor nature or conservation, but the supernatural), and it would be replacing an already very popular ride with another very popular ride(what would be the point of spending a lot of money giving Dinosaur an overlay if the new ride was a similar popularity to the last) - and you'd end up getting another off the shelf coaster to go in the land(the looping ride from Paris and Tokyo replacing another off the shelf Primeval Whirl - once again, what's the point, no added popularity, off the shelf for off the shelf).
That was an option for a while, unfortunately "The Good Dinosaur" was not that successful at the box office and it is no longer an option for Animal Kingdom.
Chase Carroll heard a rumour that zootopia will be going in at the back off the park where the petting zoo is now, but not for a long time. I believe 2022 or around there.
How about a major update for Dinosaur
I’m always here for another themed coaster at Disney.
I would like a good dinosaur ride to replace it
I hope it is Beastly Kingdom!
It was created during Eisner's "budget" phase, where we got stuff like WDSP, DCA, and HKDL. That's why it's so cheap.
Good. This ride is a waste of space and made the park seem tacky.
I would replace Primeval Whirl with either a Gertslaurer dive coaster (family scale vers.) or a Mystic Timbers/Invadr style GCI.
I hope this is true. When my bf & I rode primeval whirl last week the brakes were literally screeching at every turn. I was beyond terrified, it needs to go.
I thought “Prineval Whirl” and “Chester’s Dino Rama” we’re good.
If Primeval Whirl closes, the memory of me finding a Snorlax at the exit in Pokemon GO! will forever live on... xD
I really hope they replace primeval whirl! I love the Dinosaur ride and it hurts me when people complain about the land because of PW
I really hope they go with the original idea of putting a wooden coaster. It would be a unique ride in the Disney landscape.
they need a Mickey Ferris Wheel in Disney World!!!
I don’t think we have to replace that
I have to admit, I like Dinoland USA!
Could we possibly see a GCI or GG family wooden coaster come to Disney World? I would love that.
Fidel Camuze it would be nice to see something like InvadR, but I doubt it
That would be cool... though Legoland Florida and Story Land (NH) both already have junior wooden coasters with a dinosaur theme. (I've ridden Story Land's--it's actually a pretty wild ride!) Disney's would have to do something more to distinguish itself, if only in heavier theming.

Something Zootopia or if they wanna keep the Dino theme do something with the Good Dinosaur movie that would be cute
Emma Cantrell if one The Good Dinosaur wasn’t a total box office disappointment. From what I’m hearing, I think you’ll be pleased with what they do with the rest of dinoland

It's about *Time*
I'll let myself out
So no Indiana Jones land ☹
i mean the area was supposed to simply just be filler until something takes the spot. primevil whirl is something you can find at a crappy fair and the coaster will be a major upgrade.

Primeval Whirl is a fun little coaster. I'd hate to see it go.
i would never replace primevle whirl
Dinoland as a whole should be replaced by South America. They could have a roller coaster themed to the rainforest, and reskin DINOSAUR into Indiana Jones and the Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
its so good
😡😡😡😡 I want to keep that ride!!!!!!!
I'm sure the new coaster will be miles better than Primeval Whirl.
I hope they better not closing DINOSAUR forever because that's our number one favorite ride of all time! >:(
Mickey Mouse: Uh-Oh, What a Mess!
Why is it that these videos always instill a sense of anger, dread and wanting to beat up Iger in me?
I'm just waiting until Iger actually retires... I think we need new people making decisions, Iger went too crazy with adding IP's into the parks.
Agreed.
Really, of all the themed lands at Disney World, Dinoland USA (apart from Dinosaur) is probably the one I had the least emotional attachment to. Not a big loss, regardless of what they do with it.
all I care about in this case is that the ride physically stays, kind of like what they did with maelstrom.
It's subpar for Disney and has many problems with upkeep. It's easily the tackiest thing out of all of the parks in Orlando.
Why can't it go now!! I hate iiiiiit, it looks too normal

I’d replace it with a S&S 4d Freespin
Wait a minute. I went back to walt Disney world 2019. And I still see primeval whirl. How will it be gone when I still saw it. And you said closing soon in 2019. This is odd weird

They said it’s only going to be open for busy weeks, sadly when I went in July it was closed and they were doing meet and greets in the line entrance.
It looks a bit tacky, but it's a great ride. :(
Chester out Indiana Jones in 😳
Agree
NOOOOOOOOO! NOT PRIMEVAL WHIRL
Indiana Jones should be replacing the land
Primeval Whirl with a B&M Floorless
It will be replaced by a Indiana Jones Land
I'd rework the Dinosaur attraction, switching to Indiana jones .. Adding a fully themed Indiana jones land . If anywhere on WDW property ,Jones would fit in best in Animal Kingdom . I want to stay
Yes please, the Chester and Hester section always took me out of the immersion that Disney is known for. Also, the cardboard sections of the coaster always left a bad taste in my mouth..
please no more2 hour waits for boring rollercoasters!
that ride needs to go!
Is this replacing Disney rumor controll or is this its own thing
Joeys super kool heart attack on a hook undecided at the moment, most likely it will replace it.
AMagicProduction but will you be able to produce these small ones more often
Is Primeval Whirl getting Removed?
R.I.P.? (2002-2019)
Yes, Primeval Whirl is definitely getting removed; it's just a matter of time when Disney wants to greenlight the entire Dinoland overhaul.
Permanently or Temporarily
Griffin Haley permanently
AMagicProduction NOOOOOOO!!!!!! 😂😂😂 I'm not really upset I am happy upset, You know? I was like OH NO!!😁😊☺
Just checked on the Disney app......it closed
I want Dino land to stay
Indiana Jones land. Dinosaur is already the same ride as Indy at Disneyland. Just needs to be rethemed.
Jared Goattastic the only issue is it doesn't fit with animal kingdom. Plus I would rather get a Indiana jones ride somewhere in adventure land or maybe even a Indiana jones land in Hollywood studios

Primeval whirl is one of my favourite rides and it would be a shame to lose it
I would would not shed a tear its a wild mouse
Nooooo
Primeval Whirl is painful to ride. Good riddance!
ZOOTOPIA THEMED AREA! Like if you agree!!!
The OG Burns it's already rumored to replace rafikis planet
Noooooooooo
Replace it with the good dinosaur
That was an option for a while, unfortunately "The Good Dinosaur" was not that successful at the box office and it is no longer an option for Animal Kingdom.
Zootopia land????
Chase Carroll heard a rumour that zootopia will be going in at the back off the park where the petting zoo is now, but not for a long time. I believe 2022 or around there.
Chase Carroll, I hope Zootopia doesn't come to Animal Kingdom, it doesn't fit with the theme of animals, nature or conservation.
They wouldn't do that seeing that the veterinarians are located there.
