Such great news, right?! But Part 2 = weeks 2-4, which is when my symptoms came back 😭 subscribe & turn notifications ON if you don't want to miss it or forget! *I already have my next procedure scheduled in September...* I'm thinking I'll post patch recovery PART 2 EARLY (on Tues 8/8), so I can share about my NEXT procedure early (on next Fri 8/11). Sound good to you? Otherwise it'd be 2 more weeks! Also, very important to note... you can't take diamox and ibuprofen together. I had to talk to my pharmacist about how far to space out my VERY LOW doses of each medication. & also, depending on your dr, sometimes ibuprofen can be too blood thinning for post-blood patch. Always ask your doctor. Be CARFEUL out there!
Sounds perfect! Its nice to catch up a couple times a week.Sorry it didn't stick, but I guess thats common from what you said and what I've seen in the comments. Although, it probably doesn't make it any less 🥺 and 💩 when it happens.
You sound so much like me on “lay down” time. During my waking hours, I’m probably down to “reset” about a quarter to half of the day. I don’t have the migraine style issues like you, but I can relate to some of your situation. Try not worry about the bend to reach your cell phone. I sneezed a few times after my last patch and was worried. I’ve also thought “maybe I didn’t lay flat enough”. Hopefully they can find your leak
Watching this again after just having my own blood patch (epidural issue - spinal headache - from having my baby) and it’s really nice to see someone who’s gone through it. I saw this video before but didn’t think anything of it personally until tonight when the anesthesiologist said that this is what we needed to do after being re-admitted for preeclampsia and the nurse after shift change looked into my symptoms and caught that it was a leak. Long story short thanks for being with me during my early recovery tonight ❤
I’m sending virtual hugs because I want a little Purple Heart from you, you are absolutely awesome and sounds great. Sending love to you and your family, you are one of my favourite disabled creators. It’s so cool to see people be so honest, and except that they have limitations. And at the same time, not be absolutely annoying LOL, Kia ora from New Zealand.
@@MommingwithMigraine i’m completely blind, and sometimes people aren’t very honest about the disability that they have, or just kind of take it for granted, and get crazy shit from it so yeah, that’s why you’re my type of annoying.
So glad your recovery has gone well! Never underestimate the pain tolerance or motivation of a breastfeeding mama to stay off serious pain relievers. I had neck surgery. The pain was unbelievable. It was awful. All I took was ibuprofen and Tylenol. They said I could take 1000mg Tylenol and it was my life line. Lol
Great news ! You are one tough trooper, a real inspiration to those going through what you’ve been through. Attitude is everything, and whether you realize it or not, you have an amazing, upbeat attitude ! Sending you gentle hugs, and positive thoughts that you continue to improve. ❤
Fellow leaker here! Thanks for your great videos 😊 So sorry that your patch didn’t hold. I’ve experienced this too, many times. I have my next patch in a couple of weeks. Can I ask who you’re seeing for your patches?
I hope this is the end of your major issues. My patch help but not as quickly as I would have expected. My daughter is super sensitive to pressure changes. So far nothing has fixed it 100%. She is able to work 3 days a week and much of the rest of the time she's in bed. Things are looking good for you! I hope and pray that continues. Rick
I have had 5 patches now. My doctor feels I am having migraines not a leak because I shouldn’t be able to raise my head. She says the pain should be so bad I will be paralyzed by trying to get up. They can’t find anything on my CT Myelogram, but my MRI showed a sagging brain. I realize you travel by plane to have your blood patches. How do you manage the pain? Love your information. Louise
@@MommingwithMigraine I see that now. Ugh! I'm so sorry! I guess the plus side would be knowing, generally, what to expect now and you know that not all hope is lost! You have more options, which is always a good thing! I sincerely hope that the next one is successful! I'm sending you so much love and all the good vibes!!!!
Thank you for posting these videos. I have my first patches scheduled in 3 months. This helps me visualize what to expect. I have to fly to my appt, and am going alone. How long after the patch date do you think would be safe to fly home, in your opinion? I planned on day 5. Its only a couple hour flight. Thank you!
6:50 Not many people wake up and are like "Yes, I have a head ache!" I had something like that once. What is being happy to see something people usually never want to see. I was really happy to see a cop car behind me, pulling me over. Why I was happy to see that is a long story. If you want I'll share it.
@@MommingwithMigraine This happened in 1990, when I was 20 years old. I was delivering pizzas for Dominoes in Napa, Ca. This day I was closing the store with the manager. It was 2am and I was making the last delivery of the night. There were no parking spaces so I double parked leaving my hazard signals on. This was a side street with almost no traffic. I finished the delivery and saw another car with 4 men inside. I need to point out that there was no sign at all that these guys were cops. I'd already been robbed once in Vallejo (this is why I'd transferred to Napa, well part of the reason. I also liked (LIKE like) the manager. A guy in the car commented on me blocking the road (there was plenty of room to go around, and I had a Dominoes "flag" on my car. A little annoyed I told them I was a delivery vehicle and it was legal for me to double park (I don't know if this is true). At this point all four men got out of the car with one of them saying, "You'd better check your vehicle code." All four men had the biggest Mag flashlight, which were commonly used by police because they are very bright and it can double as a club for self defense. However the lights were available on the market to anyone. In fact, I had my own "police" flashlight for the same reason the police had them. So the fact that these guys had police flashlights did not tip me off that they were cops. Also, they were not acting like cops, they were acting like they were going to rob me, or worse. So I decided to make like a shepherd and got the flock out of there. I looked and to my horror they were giving chase. This was before cell phones were widespread (So many times I could have used a cell phone for that job) but I knew I had a choice between the Napa police department which was down town, or the CHP office on the south side of town. I decided to try to get to the CHP office as it was closer, and if I failed to find help with the CHP I could try for Vallejo about 20 miles south. I ran red lights, passed people tuning left on the left, and driving as fast as I could. I was still being careful, because at this point I no longer these guys were trying to rob me. I didn't know what they wanted but I figured it would involve rope and the application of those heavy flashlights to my tender flesh. I saw the CHP office was dark, but I still blew my horn SOS hoping someone might hear. About the time I decided to give up and try to make it to Vallejo I saw a CHP officer pulling me over. Never before or since have I been more happy to get pulled over. As soon as I stopped I jumped out saying someone had just tried to rob me. I saw the car with the guys in it stop behind the CHP officer so I shouted out a warning. I did not want these guys attacking the cop from behind. It took a little bit, but as I've hinted the guys who had confronted me were cops, they were driving an unmarked car, that I'm pretty sure was the private car of one of these guys. By this time I'd gone from extremely scared to extremely pissed off. These cops, through sheer stupidity had put me and everyone I encountered in great danger and they had scared the crap out of me. The Napa cops decided to let me go with a warning, but I was tempted to insist they arrest me. But I didn't trust these guys. I believed then and even to this day that these cops were not trying to enforce the law, they were looking for a target. I was not about to allow them to handcuff me and take me to jail. So I took the warning and headed back to the store. As I drove away I heard the CHP officer ask the Napa cop what they had done. The CHP officer could see how terrified I was, and it wasn't fear of arrest, it was mortal terror. My manager had a police scanner and had heard the entire chase. She wanted to know what in the hell had happened. I told my manager the story and she agreed that these cops were not looking to enforce the law. These cops were wearing uniforms but the shirts were covered by windbreakers. I am pretty sure I was chosen at random. I'd had 3 encounters with the Napa police. Twice I'd been pulled over, but both of these stops were very cordial and polite, both times I was let off with a warning, and the 3rd encounter was me giving my personal fire extinguisher to a cop trying to put out a car fire with instructions to have it recharged and dropped off at the store. I had never done anything that would have caused a beef between the police and me. It took me a long time (and a beer though I was underage, my manager was over 21) and after a long talk with her we decided it would be best if I avoided Napa for a while. I transferred to Vallejo, then Benicia. In fact, I don't think I ever went back into Napa. Even at the time the Napa police had a reputation as bullies and corruption. I have no idea what those cops were planning, but I'm positive it didn't involve a parking ticket. It's been 33 years, so it may be safe for me to go to Napa again, but now I live in Oregon, so Napa isn't something I have to go around anyway. Told you it was a long story.
Oddly enough I have. My leg was (and is) still attached... it just didn't get the "we are walking" signal from my brain. This used to happen to me periodically when I was younger! Always left leg.
