My husband had a fall from our house roof also hitting a long ladder on the way down. His right frontal lobe was smashed as he hit the cement below. He also had other injuries. He has two brain surgeries & was not expected to live. A month later he miraculously woke from his coma & went on to return to his teaching career!! Praise God for miracles in Ben’s recovery as well as my husbands🙏🙏

It’s been a month and 6 days and on Monday he started following commands such as hand squeezing and nodding but not consistently. Still a huge step! He needs 24/7 care and having to stay with his father as I can’t care for him and out two kids but we see him very often. He will continue to get better. Just amazing! My daughter has asked me if I believe in God or science. My answer is both. I believe in us, an intelligent and ever learning and evolving species, who through education and desire to heal, uplift and change the world, can work to bring great recovery and change but I also believe in a higher power. One who looks over us and has a plan for us all. One who works through others to effect near miracles. I believe in the human spirit and it’s incredible will to beat the odds and of course our amazing bodies which we learn more and more about each day (science! Plasticity of the brain in the role of such an amazing recovery for Ben). Last but not least I believe in the power of love. It’s ability to lift us up and comfort us in our time of need. Family, friends and even a strangers offering of love can move metaphorical mountains.
God bless you Ben, your family and the wonderful staff who know to never give up because there is always hope and possibility. Much love from Ireland 💚

Oh sure, @@bridgettedelgiacco450 no problem(if this was directed towards me as it was questioned off my comment🙂 For my many years recovering, I first at to recover at Craig Hospital before I was discharged. That consisted of occupational therapy, physical therapy, & speech therapy. I did puzzles there, which I am now not a fan of doing🙁💔, helped in kitchen there, did stuff in the gym, etc. Once I got home after being discharged I still need therapy so I was set up with having ILST come to my house to work with me. I was able to set the tone for things that I wanted to do and there were times that we went out shopping, baked cookies, did crafts, once went to a professional baseball game(the Colorado Rockies as I am Colorado), went out to eat, and likely many other things. At this time that is all I remember but if end up remembering some other things during my recovery I can try and remember to put them in😊

The ministry definiteiy. You have the gift of sincerity and being believeable. We are in a world where God is fading. He needs a miracle like you to revive His love and spirit in the minds/hearts of people. I was a boxer, bouncer and bodyguard the better part of 35 years. I am not a "nice" person. Covid cost me the use of my legs and your video made me want to believe again. Spread word of your miracle. People like me need real hope, not just pretty words. God bless you on your journey.

I never comment on RUclips videos, but I’m watching this video 3 years after its posting. As a nurse of 5 years who has worked with a significant number of patients with TBIs, I had tears of joy and shock when I saw that Ben could talk and more than that be back at his baseline with normal conversation! Thank you Jesus! Most of the patients I’ve taken care of live the rest of their days completely bed bound or wheelchair bound in a nursing home and barely progressing past the stage of broken sentences like Ben’s “Hi mom I love you” and swallowing food. The therapy he had access to was incredible, this recovery wouldn’t have happened without it - and without God designing the brain to be able to rebuild new neural pathways. I was absolutely dumbfounded as I watched Ben’s conversation at a regular consistent pace, pausing and continuing his thoughts without prompts, and he had complex facial expressions and brow wrinkling and smiles congruent with the emotion that he was expressing at each part of the sentence! I couldn’t believe it! I’d expected at the beginning of the video when it was said “living on his own” that he would be able to do basic ADLs but need to live in a home with staff to monitor and assist and drive him to appointments etc.
Even if you as a family might feel discouraged at the testing results of things like multitasking and memory that were or still may be less than previous, please be encouraged from a stunned healthcare professional that the Lord has given you so many blessings through this world-class therapy that many people never ever regain in their entire lifetime!!
Please Lord, bless and keep using this testimony of persevering with a suffering Savior.

WOW!!! I just LOVE watching this young man's recovery. LOVE THE BELIEF, COMPASSION, PERSISTENT and POSITIVE CAREGIVERS around BEN's RECOVERY. Goes to show us NOT TO JUST GIVE UP ON THOSE that have had "BRAIN INJURIES" From his father's answered prayers. GOD ANSWERED HIS PRAYERS, by putting the right people around BEN'S RECOVERY MISSION. LOVE, GOOD CARE, and the proper THERAPY people can RECOVER from this. ALL those things only help in the healing of the HUMAN BODY. Unfortunately, most brain-injured patients don't get past 2 or 3 weeks. Over 95% of DOCTORS give up on those that come into the hospital with "BRAIN INJURIES." Happy for this young man : ) Good job, Ben, keep going kid, you got this.

So inspiring to see ❤ ohne of my workmate was hitten with a Baseball bat right onto his head. He saw a few guys bothering a girl in a train station, and came over to help this girl. Then these guys hit him and ran away.
In hospital, it was not sure if he can survive his severe brain injuries. A part of his scull is missing and the parts of his brain underneath was completely damaged.
He survived the first days, but doctors told he would stay in a coma and maybe never wake up. But he did.
Then doctors claimed, that he will never be able to walk or talk….but he recovered and is able to work fulltime again. Not in his old Job, because He has sometimes problems with his speech and with one hand and leg and some other things, but over all he lives a happy life, he married, he got his driving license back, and regained all memories.
I wrote this down for anyone who prays for a loved one with brain injury. There is lots of hope, even if some doctors won‘t believe this ❤

My grandson too suffered a TBI. On February 18th of 2016. I had spoken to him in 2015 about God. He was raised in a Christian home, but I wasn’t for sure where his heart was. He said to me “ grandma I don’t know if I believe in God”. I told him there is a God and a heaven and hell. He lives in Minnesota, I live in Texas, but go home in the summer to visit my family. I work in a school and have the summer off. Well I prayed to God to please don’t let my grandson die without knowing God. In February 18th 2016 I got the call. My grandson had been hit head on by a garbage truck. His skull was crushed into his brain on the left side. His lung was collapsed, his pelvis crushed and many other injuries. Prayers went out all over the world. I have many God fearing friends on Facebook and many churches started prayer chains. When I speak of a miracle, God did indeed gave me and my grandson a miracle. I went home June 1,2016 and my grandson came home. 3 months is truly a miracle. He did end up having to go back into a rehab because he was refusing to take his medication. When I got home he was wearing a chain with a cross. I asked him if he remembered me talking to him about God. He said “ yes, I died”. He doesn’t remember a NDE but I believe God spoke to him while he was in a coma. He had to learn to walk, talk, eat and as you know many hours of rehabilitation. The pictures show where you can see a transformation. The look of not really being aware to a change where you can see that he was back and knew people and from there on many hard times to get back walking and talking. His accident was a blessing in disguise. He had been a very unhappy young man using drugs, possibly undiagnosed maybe of bi polar to now a happy young man who knows and loves God. I give God all the glory, honor, and praise. God truly is still working miracles today! God bless and thank you for sharing your son’s story.

I am amazed at Ben's story, and the long difficult INCREDIBLE recovery. He has defied all odds, and being around him and his positive happy/demeanor does not add up given the circumstances. He worked his tail off to get to where he is now. However, he could not have done any of this without the support groups that started with the firemen/paramedics on the scene immediately after the accident, and the top medical staff(s) that guided him throughout the recovery process! All of that being said, the parents, Joan and Jeff, who were taken through a marathon meat grinder, are also true heroes here. They were challenged by 30 hours of work in every 24 hour day for months/years on end! Juggling Ben and his myriad of doctor's appointments and special needs, their daughter, Hanna, with her special needs, their careers (and heavy financial obligations that were increasing), sleep deprivation, relationship with each other, etc... They have truly climbed the mountain, seen the light, and I still can't believe how they got through all of it! I think that they incorporated some help from above, because that is the only thing that makes sense!

God is an Awesome God 👏🏾 “WON’T HE DO IT!” ❤️👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Glory be to God. I thank you lord for giving this young man a second chance and giving him the strength to fight. I’m crying right now. My 24 year old son is in this same situation as I speak and I’m praying 🙏🏾 🤲 dear lord.

We are hopeful that God hears and answers your prayer for your son. I hope he recovers as well or better than Ben did.

Thank you for sharing this remarkable story. My son had a fall from a ladder on 7/17/2023. He suffered a traumatic brain injury, also a decompressive craniectomy, a PE, pneumonia, infection of brain fluid & colon. He also suffered a stroke of his temporal lobe from the injuries. He is 43 years old & is now in rehab thanks to the Neuro team at Nebraska Medical Center & prayers from friends & family. This video gives me hope & I thank you for sharing ❤️

Thank you for sharing such inspirational video. May you continue to heal and enjoy your family.
People tell me I should had made a video of my son's recovery from an ischemic stroke (anoxic encephalopathy) on May 5, 2020. I have been taking care of him for the past two years. Our faith in God praying for his healing has been a blessing. We are praying that he can play guitar and piano again.
    God bless you. 🙏🤲

@@jeffschultz2485 thank you, 😭 she's getting worse I'm losing hope she formed blood clots in her lungs they haven't been able to treat them because she's gone through a few surgerys and they're afraid she's going to bleed to death. It's been 2 1/2 months but when she shows improvements something else happens like infections or something.
