Been a huge fan of Pete's drumming skills/style ever since i first bought the 'Before The Storm' album that Samson released in the early 80's. Actually a massive influence on my playing, once i started playing shortly after. I was (and still am) so in awe of Pete's melodic drumming sensibility's on the two Samson albums he played on - 'Before The Storm' and 'Don't Get Mad... Get Even'. And look at this - turns out he's a damn nice guy too! Cheers Pete, you rock... 🤟😎
I see below me another fan of Pete’s commenting on his time in Samson..I also have to say Before the Storm by Samson is a must have in your album collection..The drumming on that gem always blows my mind..I love the way Pete would add those snare/cymbal hits and those incredible Tom fills…Fills my heart with joy listening to that album..I must confess I never heard FM before so it’s time for Discovery..Wherever your at Pete you truly inspired me on the kit…
Just spotted your comment and i have to say: give FM a listen! You won't regret it. Despite having been fully aware of them since the start, obviously as Pete (and Merv Goldsworthy _ i'm a massive Diamond Head fan since the early days) was there from the beginning, i never really heard anything by them, and to my shame, i never really made any effort to hear anything (pre-internet days remember). But, i rectified this just recently (better late than never, i suppose! Lol!), and went to see the band live 5 weeks ago. OMG! Just what had i been missing! Truly fantastic band. And even better: got to meet the guys after the show. Sincerely likeable, approachable, friendly blokes and it was truly an honour to be able to tell Pete just what a hero he's been of mine for all these years. Seriously, have a listen. And if you get the chance to see them live, i would heartily recommend doing so. Nice one Guys. 🤟🏻 And cheers again, Pete. You still rock, Man! 🙂👍🏻
