High school students: Why would we EVER need to know how to do a research paper? Slidebean: Let me show you how to get millions of views with videos that are basically research papers. Well done. Well done.
Good stuff guys, very entertaining. Using a similar strategy of content creation/education as a lead funnel for my new startup! Also signed up to slidebean...keep it up!

Great content and what a great twist to your typical forensic technique. I snowboard and over the years I've noticed less and less North Face apparel on the mountains. I found it surprising that they still occupy 66% of that market as it seemed that they've changed the quality of their gear over time. Overall great video @caya!!!
Great content. Have you considered adding a time line progress graph for this type of video? Would help me keep track of where you were in the company's history.
It's quite funny: in the UK I'd say NF was a serious outdoor brand until about 15-20 years ago. Then it started to become a street brand, to the extent that you could find rip off NF in street markets, and all the kids wore black NF puffa jackets for school. For serious outdoor enthusiasts (in UK), that was the death nell. They didn't want to be seen as followers of street fashion, so they moved away to less high profile brands, like Saloman, Merrell and Berghaus. I even remember they brought out 'black label' coats: where the logo was black, like the colour of the coat, so that it couldn't be seen easily. The logo/brand name lost its caché. I don't know what the situation is now. I still see it on a lot of kids, but I don't know whether serious outdoor folk still wear it. Shame really, as their stuff was genuinely good quality.
Listen man, no one bought NF because rappers wore them. Rappers wore them because the streets wore them. I appreciate the content but when it comes to inspiration, please get the trajectory correct. NOONE bought NF because Biggie mentioned it.
The business model of this youtube channel. Sale the service of aggrandizing large companies, and pass it off as "forensics" by talking about products that have flamed out. North face is a great product, if you actually do stuff out doors in the winter. I don't currently own any North Face, but I see soo many people that are barely managing basic balancing skills wearing it for the brand recognition and status signalling only. I know the company doesn't care. In fact, profits are profits. Greed is in.
You forgot one of the biggest issues they faced, that was them being #1 & 2 through periods, the most counterfeited brand globally!!! Also, in Australia and as someone who works in the adventure world, we only buy them 2nd hand or cheap, otherwise we look wanky, as when Asians go buy them and there everywhere on them just going to the shops, why would we want to have that appeal. They killed them self in the outdoor world. If an adventure brand exceeds in urban, it's a style than usability. So much else out there now, just as good/better.
Great content, but, i can't stand the way you narrate, unnecessary paused, like: North. Face has become. blah blah. blah... Take this comment as a positive feedback for improvement.

Please don’t mix Sales with profit,
i.e. Sales can be 300 MUSD but after cost there can still be loss of 100 MUSD :)

Wtf... talk about fake competition.
The same company that owns Kipling also owns timberland and jansport. My whole high-school was a lie.
