    Hey CruzinMoto,
I'm thinking about ordering these, but wanted to know if they are far enough out to protect the engine casing aswell.
Would you be so kind to inform me? I'm not sure if these are supposed to protect engine casing or just the tank and frame.
    Thanks in advance!

This video is basically how not to install it. You absolutely need to use thread locker and make sure not to overtighten the nuts. These wont protect engine casing. You need bottom sliders, which are more important in case if you go down, to protect engine casing from cracking. This one on the video only protects the plastics. I recomend genuine yamaha part B90211D00200. They are very well enginered, but rather expensive. Motech makes also one, better looking, but less effective.

You know you were supposed to use threadlocker according to SW motech instructions? I am also fitting them but I'll skip that threadlocker part too

LOL 😂 those bolts have a torque spec to 33 ibf ft of torque!!!! You look like you just applied about 80 ibf ft plus 😂😂😂😂😂

And possibly put a tiny distortion in the shape of the engine...
I’d also suggest that nine of the bolts on the bike are imperial...but I digress.

you realize you are tightening these bolts into the aluminum block of the engine right ??!
