I'm a Texan, and that was some pretty Good Looking meat! The only difference is going to be what wood you used to smoke the meat with, what temperature, and how long. BBQ is usually Best when smoked at a low heat for anywhere between 12 and 16 hours. 👍🏼🤤🤤🤤
I'm a born and bred Texan. That looks like some really good meat. As far as authenticity, there's nothing keeping a real Texan who knows what he's doing from moving to NYC and opening a restaurant.
Texan here too. I saw recently that New York City people are catching on about kolaches. They're starting to make them there. My husband and I want to move to the Lake district in England and open a barbecue restaurant.
The most famous styles of barbecue are Texas, the Carolinas, Memphis, and Kansas City. Don’t forget those last two! After that, Chicago and Saint Louis are also very famous for their distinctive barbecue styles.
Oh this looks quite good! I completely get you on best BBQ being in Texas or say Memphis (Tennessee) & they certainly are fantastic!! As a Brooklynite, I also know you can find nearly any kind of authentic & good food you can imagine here😋I look forward to your full review, Google checked Fette Sau, & put it on my mental list of places to go, thank you!
Broccoli with barbecue? Toto, I don't think we're in Texas anymore. The ribs looked pretty good though. A little skimpy maybe. I'd definitely try that place out. The beans looked good.
Actually the styles are Texas (low country, or the standard style), Kentucky (mustard or vinegar based sauces), Tennessee (mostly ribs), Carolina (whole hog or pork shoulder), and California (mostly cuts with an adjustable grill), and the rarer other styles from other countries like Vietnam or Jamaica which are completely different. Just what you like you know.
North and South Carolina have different styles, NC is tomato and vinegar and SC is mustard based. No such thing as Carolina BBQ. Most people are familiar with just NC BBQ.
Kansas City and Memphis have a lot more prominence than Kentucky and California when it comes to distinctive style. After them come Chicago and Saint Louis.

I know I am going to take a lot of heat for this, but I’m a Texas Roadhouse girl up here in the Pacific Northwest. I know it’s a chain restaurant but the rib meat falls off the bone and melts in your mouth.

As a Southerner, I was very surprised to find some really good BBQ when I visited NY State! Specifically, a place called Dinosaur BBQ, in Rochester.
Rochester is the Texas of New York State? JK
Made me hungry just watching you !😆

As a native Texan seeing the words Barbecue and New York City in the same sentence kinda just makes me want to say:
Well bless their hearts.
