Hi Jon, this is one of your best videos in my opinion, thanks so much for posting this. Andrew is so passionate and I love the chicken meals at Gai a kitchen the best. All the food looks wonderful and if I visit again or loved there I’d be onto those meal options regularly. I totally loved the Bing Buzz collars as well. The $2 skewers are so economical as well. I do love your work ❤❤❤
Chinatown is such a gem. Great restaurants and vibes from the community. Unfortunately, the gentrifiers are eyeing Chinatown as the next area they are planning to take over. This is one of a few original New York neighborhoods left.
Jon thanks to your RUclips channel I was able to stay on a budget when I visited NYC back in May ! I know that I will be able to do the same for my next visit.
yo! Andrew Fung!! I worked a press conference for a charity basketball game in Toronto and the Fung Bros were being "faux reporters" for a video and were just stirring the pot trying to start beef between Simu Liu and Jeremy Lin LOL so funny! Gai Kitchen looks like great bang for your buck!
Amusing how you're not too keen on hainanese chicken rice. Some find if offputting because it's boiled, but when done right, it's magic. That was also partly fried, which is wrong. Just the boil.
Hanna chicken is boiled or steamed and serve with ginger green onion oil source. The key is also the rice cooked with chicken broth. The dish in this video doesn’t look close.
Only God knows how much grateful i am. After so much struggles I now own a new house and my family is happy once again everything is finally falling into place!!
Been to every spot other than the new BBQ skewer cart. They’re all great! The boss at North Dumpling has always been nice. Is the new location on Division related to the old one on Essex or separate now?
You should've come to my Banh Mi stand when you came to the Queens Night Market if you wanted Vietnamese spring rolls. And of course you can't forget the banh mi.
Hainan Chicken Rice is one of our main staple where we grew up in Malaysia. We've tried the one in Urban Hawker and it was very tasty. How is this one compared with Urban Hawker? We will definitely give it a try when we visit next month. Thanks for the recommendations! ( Andrew mentioned it was originally priced at 5.99? omg you cant even buy a small bubble tea for at least 7 bucks!)
Just wish Chinatown had more late night spots like before. NYC, as a whole>every borough, used to be the best for that. Has vastly minimized in the past few years (even pre covid)
Right after the pandemic when outdoor dining was booming, I sat next to the Fung Bros, they were filming and eating many dishes. They left and soon after the waitress started to run after them. I think they skipped out on the bill. Stop watching their vids ever since.
Definitely not a crazy statement. best cheap eats Chinatown I’ve been to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle Chinatowns. by far New Yorks both Brooklyn and manhattan Chinatowns best in the USA.
@@georgiasmith7615 Strangely, there isn’t that big of a Vietnamese population in NYC. Also other Southeast Asian ethnicities are almost completely missing in the city (Burmese, Cambodian, Laotian, etc.) SF Bay Area for example is chock full of good Burmese, Cambodian and Laotian restaurants.
True! 😂 I went some of the Korean BBQ buffet restaurants, they play the music as loud as possible, me and my friends sit face to face, and we have to shout to each other in order to hear 😂 I guess the restaurants just want u to finish ur food as soon as possible and get the #### out!

fung bros are the originators of the cheap eats in nyc videos, legends!
They really are.
I’m a truck driver in the Los Angeles area, I absolutely enjoy listening to your videos when I’m driving keep up the good work. shabbat shalom 😊😊
Never expected this collab😭 fung bros were my childhood
Great collaboration with one of the BEST youtubers, Andrew Fung.
There's so many good cheap options under $10 in NYC if you know where to go - especially the outer boroughs!
Hi, Jon! Could you make a video about the bodega culture?
I would argue it’s easier to find cheap non chain store food in NYC than other cities. Some places you would be limited to McDonalds or Burger King
true that
Couldn’t agree more. Amazing city with numerous choices.

The best part of Hainanese chicken rice for me is the rice.
Love the Fung Bros collab
You should do a video of Eastern European cuisine. Lots of places in lower east side.

Andrew rocked.

Jon starts working out and all of sudden analyzes his protein intake. Let’s get a workout routine 💪🏼
Only God knows how much grateful i am. After so much struggles I now own a new house and my family is happy once again everything is finally falling into place!!

You should've come to my Banh Mi stand when you came to the Queens Night Market if you wanted Vietnamese spring rolls. And of course you can't forget the banh mi.
YES!!!! Chinatown in any city has always and will be THE BEST CHEAP EATS compared to any neighborhood!

No Wah Fung #1 Fast Food?
No white steam chicken with the gelatinous collagen & fat mixed in ginger, traditional chicken rice chilli sauce? Sad
great video to eat my food to
Since when did Hainanese became thai
Okay. With friends yes. Not a date, date. Unless you are married this is date night after visiting MOMA.
hainanese chicken is singaporean mannnn
how can they eat so much in such short span of time...
Saigon banh mi!
That's the smallest pho ive ever seen
Definitely not a crazy statement. best cheap eats Chinatown I’ve been to San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle Chinatowns. by far New Yorks both Brooklyn and manhattan Chinatowns best in the USA.
They’re not egg rolls if there’s no eggs -_-
The pho pun was hilarious lmao
I want to go to these places *_if_* and *_when_* I visit New York City.
We can do it. I know you will find something for us!!!😂
Only in Chinatown. Edit: re: eggrolls, Don't sleep on Lumpia!
First time putting pho on the channel? That’s strange. It’s a very common food available everywhere!
NYC generally is not known for pho. On the East Coast, Philadelphia and Northern Virginia are better known for pho and Vietnamese cuisine.
@@TigerCat510 Yes I guess that’s true. I grew up in Northern Virginia so I guess I’m used to it!
you can find it here, but it's just not the most common thing people go out for.
@@HereBeBarr I think it would be great for the cold NYC winters, but I guess people prefer ramen!

Where’s the American food :/
Hot dog and pizza have been beaten over and over
First spot, granted but not good for dialects. 😞
Baarr 😃
Sorry, Jon but Vegas is MUCH worse for super expensive food!

Gonzalez George Lopez Susan Williams Amy
You are both talking a lot, but rarely eating any of the food. EAT MORE, SPEAK LESS!
NEXT TIME ACTUALLY EAT THE FOOD! All you did was talk!
no philippines and indonesian food...their food must be so unappetizing at best...🤣🤣🤣
There are hundreds of different dishes in one Chinese cuisine, and there are 8 Chinese cuisines in total
