Thank you Steve, by far the best video I have found on this repair. You cover every single detail, from removal to installation, thank you

I have the same car, same engine, and my oil cooler is leaking. I'm still making monthly payments and I have just bought an extended warranty. I took it in to have it diagnosed and they told me it will cost over 2k to have it repaired and my warranty doesn't cover it. So now I'm driving a junk vehicle with a warranty. And the worst part about it is that I used to build these cars in Lordstown. I bought the car to support my fellow workers, now I am unemployed because the plant closed and I couldn't make it in my new plant. And I never hear from the people I used to work with. So much for solidarity. I am so ashamed that I was involved in building such a junk vehicle.😥😥

I'm in the same boat, I will be going with Hondas or Toyotas from now on. Yes they can break, but the amount of things that have gone wrong on this car before 100,000 miles is absolutely astonishing.

Not your fault man, GM’s engineers plus design team should’ve known better when it was just a concept. They had all the room to iron out the kinks and not cut corners, but they failed to acknowledge it. Signed an auto mechanic that also owns this car and bulletproofed it

Mate great videos!… I just did this over the course of about 2 weeks having to wait on the part from America im in Australia wow what a shite job especially that nut or bolt on the left hand side of the manifold!… or thought that was a good idea!… anyway yes after completion I started the car up lots of smoke came off I got it to operating temp to make sure coolant was good no leaks at all no warning symbols on dash so so far everything looks good!…

"a little bit fiddly" is right... that connector took me an hour to get off. Thanks for the video!

Super job of explaining and still keeping from becoming tedious (ha). Thank you for making it 4 parts, so that it is all included.

Great Vid, thanks for all of this. Just got mine done because of your intel. Only thing extra I had to do: unable to get the turbo flange and catalytic convertor to mate. Had to loosen the exhaust manifold and move the assembly away from the engine block, this gave enough room for the cat and turbo band clamp to mate. The clamp was hitting the cooler. Thanks a ton. Steve

Tried this on a 2017 buick encore since it has the same engine. Suv sounds like a lawnmower now when cranked. Maybe I damaged the Cat converter seal???Any advice?

What would a garage charge to do this? Curious.

This was just done on my girlfriends car by a local shop, but now there is water leaking from the tube going into the oil cooler.............. Can I reuse the gaskets that were "supposedly" just replaced?? I plan on replacing the o-ring that holds that tube in place............

I can’t get the bolt on the far left that you used to screw back in with your hand it’s like the bolt is too short or something or I’m doing something wrong

  • @willwarro4054

its pathetic they use a worthless o ring seal when they could have designed the cooler to use a gasket. then they buried it deep.

I've learned when you buy a Chevy Cruze, you ahould expect to replace this every 80k miles.
