  • What exactly is a Heatric printed circuit heat exchanger. A Heatric PCHE is a robust corrosion resistant, high integrity plate type heat exchanger that has been manufactured using a process called diffusion bonding. Heat exchangers offer the thermal effectiveness of a plate type exchanger combined with the temperature and pressure capability of a shell and tube exchanger.
Heatric exchangers offer a number of key benefits. They're able to handle pressures over 600 bar, equivalent to 9,000 PSI, and a temperature range from deep cryogenic to an excess of 900 degrees Celsius, equivalent to 1600 degrees Fahrenheit. These extreme pressure and temperature capabilities surpass the limits of braised plate, welded plate, and plate and frame exchanges.
Heatric exchanges are about 75 to 80% smaller and lighter than shell and tube type exchanges in the offshore industry. A lighter exchanger reduces the costs associated with foundation support structure, pipework, and installation. These savings are achieved without compromising the thermal or hydraulic performance.
Heatric exchangers offer greater safety than other types of exchangers. This is because they're not susceptible to vibration, have no gaskets that could cause a leak and do not have a catastrophic failure mode. As a result, Heatric exchanges require minimal over pressure relief protection. They're also manufactured from fire resistant materials and have a low fluid inventory.
Heatric exchangers also offer process advantages. They can deliver savings in utility consumption due to their high thermal effectiveness. They can be designed to combine more than one duty in a single exchanger module.
Boiling and condensation are readily handled, and the exchanger also has the capability to handle streams with a two phase in that these capabilities deliver great benefits in gas compression, cooling, and gas dew pointing applications. Heatric exchanges comply with a range of recognized international standards, such as ASME and PED. Heatric is accredited to ISO 9,001 holes and ASME samp and has built a worldwide reputation for quality and performance. This innovative technology has been installed globally by leading operators such as Petrobras, BP, Shell, and ExxonMobil.
