This album was not what I expected, was disappointed at first but I get it now, I love it. So much fantastic wordplay, flows, concepts. They ain't ready for this!
I don't get why people complain about revival he's been in the hip hop world for so long. He wants to do different things and be his self, respect that.
Liked revival alot, favorites: Castle Arose Framed Believe Offended Tragic Endings River Untochable Big Em fan, dont really care about for pop mixes if it sounds good. Which what music should be, be looking forward to dre and em to be together again
Branden Newman Hip Hop has always been samples for Em, even with 'My Name Is' and 'The Real Slim Shady' etc... Stan's a sample, Sing For The Moment etc... Eminem has always been about samples.
Both Walk On Water and Believe in particular are vulnerable, honest, brave pieces of art. Tragically beautiful and soul wrenching. An artist reflecting over an illustrious long career. His shortcomings, inner most fears, losses and pain, rigid self inflicted torturerous search for an unattainable perfection competing with himself, questioning if his audience still believes in him, and human imperfections on full display. And where he goes from the top. And they sound incredible too. And people hated on honest vulnerability. WHAT A DISGUSTING CULTURE WE FIND OURSELVES IN NOW. But many important genuis artists' works were not revered in their own life time. Van Gogh died a pauper. His paintings are now considered priceless masterpieces. I think time will sort out and reflect the genius from the unwarrented hate.
guts over fear is one of the best in regards to favorite songs. good beat positive meaning and purpose to help some people find the guts inside to express what should be and not hold anything back
Revival is awesome.... been a stan since 2000 and this album could be now in my top 3, the lyrics and the passion in this album is unreal. #shadytillidie
Branden Newman do you even listen to Hip Hop? Lmfao, There's thousands of classic tracks all through the generations with rock/metal samples. You must be new here.
instead of just throwing away songs, he should put out B side albums or mixtapes with the songs the didn't make the album, just a waste if he's throwing away 30 songs per album
Dylan Brown he doesn’t throw them away he takes them back into the lab and he’ll perfect them or maybe use them for something else in a different way, whatever he has leftover basically he’ll keep it in his arsenal because eventually he will find a good way to use it and put it to good use
Men o men hopefully Eminem and Dre make an album together, Eminem new stuff is good but not as good as the work with Dre, Dre brings the best out of Eminem
Beautiful Album... I am a huge Eminem fan, shout out to the D12 camp. Eminem will we ever see another slim shady album again? Last last time for the fans
Revival was SICK! Loved it! It's funny how some of these people try to knock it and say that it sucked. But Eminem has critique coming in from Dr. Dre and other great artists wit honest opinions and they say it's great.
This was a grown album for his more mature fans which truly showed growth, it's never good to stay in the same place in life or as an artist! So glad you shifted gears bc those were some very real and vulnerable lyrics on this album and that takes a lot of guts! I cried my eyes out to arose and had tears in my eyes on many other tracks, so damn good! It was a Fucking masterpiece and your true fans appreciate the hell out of MM for changing lanes and speaking from his heart and mind at the time! You can bring Shady out at anytime on another record, way too easy for you😉🐐 Always ahead of your time, the rest of the world will catch up years down the line and eventually appreciate all of your masterpieces when they either mature or grow older. You have too many fans aging from teenagers all the way up to 50 years old and beyond so there's no way to please them all. Do you ALWAYS bc I DO still believe!!! Much love always ❤️
It's true. Those clever rhymes keep making me laugh, smile, shout, etc. I'm just feeling it, son!! Don't know why people get off on making fun of someome enjoying an album. But do as you like, shit doesn't phase me. I've been in too good of a mood since this album came out. I can't comprehend what haters are trippin on. I can only assume you were Eminem fans-turned-butthurt-trump-supporters cause he called all you dumbasses out. Y'all made your bed, now lie in it with the rest of us. Either way, supporter or not, entitled to your opinion, I'm entitled to mine, and you can think I'm gay all day...doesn't negate the fact that my face IS actually a little sore because I literally chose to go into work on my day off because I knew I'd listen to it more while I'm working than at home. It just keeps getting better. I must have listened to most of it like 50 times. I just love it, love Em, and could really give a fuck what anybody thinks. Peace. One.
Questions really show the quality of the album . Basically everyone asking about 4 songs - Offended, Framed, Castle and Arose. I really hope that EM will notice that too, and he will give us more tracks like these 4.
Forrest Hall Framed really reminded me of classic EM and he was very on Beat I personally loved it. Less Pop and Rock and more Hip Hop is what many of us would like .
Veins your right tbh but the chorus made me cringe is all and the trap beats and Flo's? I loved them the album's such a mix of fun serious trap rock rap and pop something for everybody ey
Jimmy Yans I don't have an issue with Trap Beats in 2017 lol . There were 2 Trap Beats on Believe and Chloraseptic. I loved believe it's very aggresive and straight forward. I think it's kinda harsh to say it ruined the album, but i guess opinions are different.
I love how Eminem always mentions naughty by nature. They are literally one of the most underrated hip pop groups especially treach, Ik they got famous songs like hip pop hooray and OPP but they are still criminally underrated.
i wish more people would listen to his interviews more. his interviews leading up to the album give hints on what hes trying w the album and this interview talks about the obvious. and for eminem who is who doesnt do a lot of interviews is great because for an artist of this magnitude to explain his work is a blessing...just listen to "why" and stop bitchin about the album.
The album would have been perfect only problem I had was the rock beats, not even the fact they were rock its the sample choice, felt cheesy! The right rock beat can be incredible!
I thought it was fantastic for a mature rap album. Surprised we got so many people hating on it.. Most all be people in their early 20's or somethng. The Revival interlude track really needed to be put into a song and be the standout of the album
As it's called revival i think he should of revived the old eminem vibe. Bring back slim shady in a couple songs, use Royce, 50, d12, dre more involved. Too much serious and emotional songs. Framed is the best song hands down
leveyManUK that's exactly what I thought especially with most of the song titles, I thought walk on water was probably more like a mature Eminem letting us know the growth he went through and what it takes to be on his level and where he's at now, I thought believe was going to be about how we should believe in the new Eminem being capable of bringing us the same quality of music. I figured Chloraseptic would be about dissing other rappers or something of that level. I thought Untouchable, before it was leaked, would have been how he was and or still is an untouchable lyricist. I figured remind me skit would be him and Paul Rosenberg going back and forth again maybe on how he's just not the first three albums and then the remind me song would be like the way I am sort of and reminding us as a fan what captured Us in the first place.
Rick Sanchez stfu I only listen to real hip hop. I'm a writer myself so I judge rap purely on skills as an emcee. I f***ing flipped when hes rhyming 6 syllables for like 8 bars straight. Even when telling a story he don't stop rhyming when it's literally a rule that you don't have to rhyme too much when storytelling. The album was fire. It's just yall don't appreciate bars anymore.
I love Revival! I think it’s a different path to what Em’s taken before and instead of asking why?… Ask why not? It’s still Em doing what Em does just with a different overall sound. I remember Meat Loaf doing it with Hang Cool Teddy Bear and although it didn’t sell as well as Bat Out Of Hell, it’s considered one of his best records. Everyone asked why? When it was released but now people are definitely asking why not? So fuck the haters. They aint listening properly. They dont get it!
To be honest, his album obviously isn't what most em fans were looking for. What i'm getting from this album is a story, he is trying to express himself, past and present. This album is about growth, clearly. As for the production, yes it could have been done differently. In recent interviews he talks about how he wanted Dre to produce a lot of the album but Dre had taken time off so he could only mix on some songs and thats exactly what he did. It seems like he needed to meet a 'timeline' so to speak to release the album. Needless to say, the 'trap' stuff on his album seems more like he is mocking rappers in the game, which is classic em. Also, people should expect him to bring a little bit of everything into this album; trap, politics, personal life. It has been four years. It is not his best, but it is not his worst either.
Rick Sanchez I grew up on Eminem in the early 2000s and late 90s... so how u gonna say that because of my opinion lol... guess ppl can't have opinions unless u agree with it then it's OK....
Rick Sanchez I bought every Eminem album when I was growing up.. so don't try Me bruh because of my opinion... I truly enjoyed this new Eminem and it's one of my favorite albums...
Dear Stan, Maybe he tried to many different styles on the album. So it was to much for him. BUT he said that everybody can identify with the album and that everybody find one song that he likes. The instrumetals are awesome produced i think. Maybe some of the old samples aren't your style but in my opinion they are fitted well to the rap. I love the sample from I love rocknroll and how its mixed with the rap of the GOAT. So i think that the production from Rick Rubin and Dre was awesome. On the one hand it is not a album where the themes are connected with another, on the other hand I think that every single song for its own is something new and something awesome which i enjoy to listen to. Maybe some of the features (alicia keys and xambessedors) are to commercial but maybe its not my style and you can't say that it isn't well produced. So well to sum up every single for its own is good and something new, but they aren't connected in there topics and there style. Well this was my opinion. And by the way favourite songs are Believe, and Castle. I hope you get to read this letter...😉
I feel the track Believe, Em really nails a lot of what is going on. Great song great album this is in my top songs in hip hop. My opinion it’s just great that Em stays real , a lot of music right now sounds so similar to everything else , like theres no more levels you know, Whatever though it’s just my opinion. Appreciate your talent Em straight up .
revival is eminems pop album I think he did very well considering but because how poppy most of it is it deff lacks compared to his other albums.. i really wish it had a deluxe version that balanced it ou. but i still appreciate it, just hope the next one isnt as pop. I think a new bad meets evil album would shut the haters up
It's like him and Paul are an old married couple. They bicker and he refers to Paul when he can't remember something. Just like an old married couple 😂
Has no one listened to the song Believe on this album? I had to listen to it for a few times before i got the flow and some of the lines but fuck thats song is another one of the dope songs on revival. " I just got the air about me like wind chimnes"
In my opinion , could of been so so so much better . How is the legend of fucking rap finishing his last album with a trump Diss ... I've always been in love with ems shit from way back but I'm sorry revival is by far his worst. Yes there is one song I like but by standards of Eminem it was weak. constant shit talk towards trump I give 0 fucks about the politics but I would understand 1 strong song about him and the end, but no he ends up with like nearly every track then shit beats in my opinion and the tracks were all over the place . If you ever say this shit his best then you've never heard song like mocking bird , lose your self and extra that's why Eminem is is a legend but these songs he just came out with just don't meet his standards. This is my opinion and will always be ems fans for sure , but I need to be true to myself. Enjoy the album every one just spreading my views on the album
RUclips Talks/Discussions bc there Eminem haters who dick ride and hate anyone who not hating with them hahah em the goat simple as that doesnt mattered what they think
One thing that's awesome about eminem in my humble opinion is how he knew the anniversary of naughty by nature's first album release. Idk I just find it cool. Also I'd love to get a pair of one of em's fancy jordans lol.
If any of yall saying this cd sucks and havent listened to it more than once yall know nothing bout his legacy! I grew up on em when i listened to choraceptic and like home and belevive he sayig in those frist song where he at and where he at now and where im bout to got next and what the cd is about and where it bout to go to get him too the next track this dude a genius and in CHLORASEPTIC HE chypered-well i still have a few veiws in common with you Just not RUclips,cause... Wow!! now who really listens to eminem the king of rap and the next day he on his show he knew this was gona happened he always has been hated before it even came out!! The the best regardless!!! Great cd too not all the song what i want too be but ill listen to this abulm over and over again cause his shit so deep and complex the averange rap fan aint gona get it they gona be looking for away to say there favorite rapper is the best hmmm? Mabey its the other reason this cd is gona make everyone think he aint the king nomore hmmmm?
Someone explain pls: what did he mean when he said castle; check the time on ur cd when he says that line: consider them last 4 minutes of the song, and my daughters if i would have made it to the hospital less than 2 hours later. he said look the time on ur cd when he says 4 minutes. what did he mean?
Hearing em today talk about how paul *made him let off the gas* makes this so fucking different... knowing em didn't want to..and then that follow up question...wow
Chloraseptic was that litty music, if there was more of that, people would've liked the album more. Especially my generation/new school. But I still loved it
So is the castle (pt 2 end of arose) Easter egg he pointed out just the fact that the time reads 4 minutes while he says 4 minutes? Or is it more then that?
The search for the ones that are real, doing things that matter is crazy hard and trust is almost lost on people feel like outcast trying to figure out why people try trashing the culture and step on people
This album was not what I expected, was disappointed at first but I get it now, I love it. So much fantastic wordplay, flows, concepts. They ain't ready for this!
Mikkel Rasmussen yep exactly, i first i thought it was wack, but i now see its not bad
It had to grow on me though and it did! ..all except for Nice Guy...
@@heyjen77that’s kamikaze. Nice Guy is a dope song. That chick is hard af
I don't get why people complain about revival he's been in the hip hop world for so long. He wants to do different things and be his self, respect that.
True^
It's fine for him to do something different, but it just doesn't sound good. That's the issue we have.

I love Revival, i just wish there was at least one rap feature.. A Royce Da 5'9 feature would have been ace.
NewNinetys bruh shut up
NewNinetys river is pretty good
SniperFFA true
Jose Aguilar ? Why you so pressed?
Branden Newman Hip Hop has always been samples for Em, even with 'My Name Is' and 'The Real Slim Shady' etc... Stan's a sample, Sing For The Moment etc... Eminem has always been about samples.
No matter what eminem puts out people just gonna say it's wack if you listen to today's rappers you can't judge real hip hop .
4 years ago and it's only gotten worse
@@joycecat2263nah,kamikaze and mtbmb are good albums ,but if you re talking about hip hop you are right
Eminem has saved my life several times, and for that, I’m forever grateful. I will love him until my last breath.
Relapse was amazing!
sam farley I 💙 Relapse
Dale Sadler it’s amazing right, the flow and rhyme scheme is some of his best work
sam farley true plus you can actually feel Slim Shady

I have listened to your music since I was 17 now 38 and I have turned out fine 🙂
Thanks for you for your awesome music

My opinion it’s just great that Em stays real , a lot of music right now sounds so similar to everything else , like theres no more levels you know, Whatever though it’s just my opinion. Appreciate your talent Em straight up .
Theres no other artist that gives you a product to really listen
revival is eminems pop album I think he did very well considering but because how poppy most of it is it deff lacks compared to his other albums.. i really wish it had a deluxe version that balanced it ou. but i still appreciate it, just hope the next one isnt as pop. I think a new bad meets evil album would shut the haters up
It's like him and Paul are an old married couple. They bicker and he refers to Paul when he can't remember something. Just like an old married couple 😂
All the goata are the ones that have laid the ground work for everyone new coming up
"i go see the doctor regulaly to get check ups" even in a conversation dropping bars
Comparing the beats of Relapse to the ones in Revival really makes me miss Dre.
Eminem rapping on MMLP2 level on those beats would've been eargasmic.
Has no one listened to the song Believe on this album? I had to listen to it for a few times before i got the flow and some of the lines but fuck thats song is another one of the dope songs on revival. " I just got the air about me like wind chimnes"
😂 Eminem is funny as hell
Just a perfect album
Worst Em album so far!
It’s a terrible album, his worst album and I’m an Eminem fan
Rick Sanchez for me it's a 6-7/10
In my opinion , could of been so so so much better .
Yeah I can relate with what we've been through after all the school shootings and all the craziness
1:41 anyone here ems "uhmhm"
Honestly if y'all want "modern day" shady, listen to the Shady 15 and Southpaw soundtracks.
Alex Valdez shady xv is the worst Em IMO
Ricky eh. I personally loved it. Rapping with royce about random shit, nothing but rap. Pretty dope.
ShadyXV was terrible. Horrible beats and robotic flow
Vegas and Detroit vs everybody were dope tho
legend!
I knew when i grew up all i wanted to be was part of the culture that all the greats i looked up to
Great interview. Eminem is better than every emcee out there. #Shade45
Relapse is a classic. Relapse is better than "Revival."
One thing that's awesome about eminem in my humble opinion is how he knew the anniversary of naughty by nature's first album release. Idk I just find it cool. Also I'd love to get a pair of one of em's fancy jordans lol.
25:15 if i can capture this in a bottle
Someone explain pls: what did he mean when he said castle; check the time on ur cd when he says that line: consider them last 4 minutes of the song, and my daughters if i would have made it to the hospital less than 2 hours later.
he said look the time on ur cd when he says 4 minutes.
what did he mean?
or maybe he meant arose? :S
can someone explain? I assume the CD timer may have spelt a word in digits?
#shadyfiresidechat #Latana It's good to hear Em again #poisenivy
27:09 wish I could hear Em and Royce interview eachother. Weekly.
5:18 EMINEM IS ENABLE TO LAUGH
Love this interview, wish I had time to listen it when the interview came out.
As a always fan but lifelong fan of Em since 1999 I was never as disappointed as when I first heard Revival. I think I got nauseous
I'm ready 4 everything u got marshmallow man
as for a rapper view all songs are chikaaaw for me because i am learning alot things from his music , his music is productive .
Porter did the best job as producer on this album
12:15 em getting these dad jokes pinned down😂😂😂
Hearing em today talk about how paul *made him let off the gas* makes this so fucking different... knowing em didn't want to..and then that follow up question...wow
I understand that this was a personal album. But, I kinda wish that he would have went at some of these stupid mumble rappers.
He did in Chloraseptic.
i agree
Chris Hansen chloraseptic dude. Lol
Chloraseptic was that litty music, if there was more of that, people would've liked the album more. Especially my generation/new school. But I still loved it
Well, you got your wish
His next album should be only production from himself, Dre and porter with Royce, Dre, 50 and d12 features
What is that profile pic 😂😂
The hooded man 💙
2017, and I am listening in 2021, and I just watched a song with runes, yeah, so how and when? Sweetheart? I am intrigued! Love has no limits.
This blows any new rap out in the last 4 years!
Iam agree with em they are all my favorite would have a very hard time picking a favorite
Happy to hear that
who here doesnt know PRHYME???
Thato Nasilele never met chris and Ryan what’s phryme
Woo thanks for the support.
So is the castle (pt 2 end of arose) Easter egg he pointed out just the fact that the time reads 4 minutes while he says 4 minutes? Or is it more then that?
42:42 please explain to me what did he meant
when he says 4 minutes in the song there's 4 minutes left on the album
Doggle Boggle THANKS
The girl that asked about a tour…. PLEASE EM!!!! I NEED ANOTHER CONCERT 😭
The search for the ones that are real, doing things that matter is crazy hard and trust is almost lost on people feel like outcast trying to figure out why people try trashing the culture and step on people
Ya thanks for keeping me on hold y'all
