'Wondering why she is late', so true. I experienced that with my wife in 1974 as I waited for her at home, feeling stressed, a premonition of her death and sure enough, the knock at the door came and I knew it was the police, killed in a car accident. Still feel that moment and anxiety today
Oh! So sorry mate. I was brought here thinking about my brother who died suddenly of a pulminary embolism 3 years ago watching TV while his wife was out shopping. Somehow Ted's song came to me and got me feeling nostalgic for the old days when we were growing up.
I can remember this song on the car radio when i was in year 5 going to visit my relatives in Newcastle. There was a big milk factory with OAK on it. Funny how you remember things from 53 years ago. a few years later I saw TMG in Tamworth but he didnt sing that song LOL
@@jasonlee7816 - Sorry for the delay in my getting back to you ! - I didn't see your reply until now (!). - I listened to BBC Radio 1 and Radio Luxembourg almost EVERY DAY since November 1966 --> until Easter of 1985 - and remember the song quite well during summer of 1971 when it was played quite often at the time but without any chart success in Britain !
So loved this song and the TMG. Saw them in Toowoomba back in 1976. Has come back to me just recently, married 43 years ago, separated almost 10 years ago when I moved back to Israel, but after all these years the love has returned, never thought that was possible. I thank Almighty G-d!
Great guy great band great song great times and a great pom ! Bless. @ Arkaba Hotel Adelaide 1978 andr later on to to The (Olde) Lion and Bogarts North Adelaide
After listening this song even the most broken man in the world will fall in love again.
This has the same song structure as George Harrison's "What is Life." With each verse there are more instruments added. Love it!
Absolute LEGEND of Australian Rock 😊

One of the genuinely 'nicest' songs from the 70's - great orchestrations, beautifully produced ....
As is to be expected from Australia's "Lennon-McCartney".
Yes one of the most beautiful and underrated ballads of the 70's. I have the single and it's definitely one of my most treasured 45's
A nice song, sung by a nice guy
So true a classic

The clip I remember (It's also on YT) was shot on a beach, with a representative "young couple in love" playing around behind Ted and his guitar.

1971 wasn’t that long ago.
