  • How to sew a hole in clothing. How to stitch a hole in pants, leggings, shirts, and sweatpants. Close holes on a seam with easy hand sewing. Learn how to sew up a hole in clothes!
For a hole NOT on a seam, check out this video: • Sew up a hole - How to...
Check out my channel for more easy ways to alter, fix, and repair your clothes. Easy DIY clothing tutorials and tricks!
I started cutting up old clothing when I was a teenager. I taught myself and figured out (by making mistakes) all the tricks on how to easily alter clothes. I used to use a machine, but now I do hand sewing and lots of things with just scissors.
T-shirts are my favourite because they are easy to cut up and don’t fray when they are cut. This means you can make all sorts of designs by just cutting them, and don't have to worry about sewing hems or finishing seams. Just cut and go!
Most tutorials take less than five minutes and you can learn how to experiment with your own ideas and designs. I just give you the basic techniques.
Watch the Cinderella Sew video tutorials and learn easy ways to recycle, change, and restyle your clothing. Fashion changes, styles come and go, and it is always fun to remix what you are wearing.
You will end up with clothing that you feel good wearing because you made it look exactly how you want it to. Yeoh!
Thanks for watching, I appreciate your comments and your support. Peace and love from Cinderella Sew!

Yep! I bought a hoodie which is apart of a tracksuit (expensive tracksuit!) but couldn't find the joggers ANYWHERE, anyway I eventually found somewhere selling them so bought them and that evening rather dangerously I fell asleep whilst smoking a cigarette and it dropped onto my joggers and burned a hole in time 😬😳 so now I'm about to attempt a repair following this lovely ladies tutorial. Wish me luck!!

I ripped a pair of pants doing parkour training last Friday. I didn't want to shell out another $30 or so for a new pair of pants. This video made it easy to follow the directions to sew it up. What was surprising is I found sewing needles at Target, but they were out of thread so I had to stop at Walmart for that.

4 years later and you’re still helping people learn how to sew! Thank you for this video :)
I’m 22 and just moved in with my boyfriend of 7 years so I am starting to take on those “housewife” duties which includes sewing the holes shut in all of his clothes since he is so rough with his clothing. My mom never taught me how to sew and I had a habit of just tossing or donating clothes when they had a hole in them no matter how big or small it was. But now that I’m living with a man who has a bazillion holes in most of his clothes and won’t donate/toss them even if they became a single string of thread.. it was time to learn to sew.
I tried watching other tutorials but I could never understand them! Until this video - it took me a bunch of rewinds to understand but that’s a me problem, not a you problem! I messed up a bunchhh but I got it eventually and I’m so proud of myself 🎉 it doesn’t look amazing but I’m so excited to show my boyfriend when he wakes up!! Now I want to make holes in other clothes just to sew them up when I run out of holes in my boyfriend’s clothes.. maybe I’ll MAKE some clothes eventually 👀
sorry for the long comment, just am very excited I finally successfully sewn a hole closed after many fails, needle pricks, and frustration 😅🤩 thanks again!!!!

Great video! Thanks for this! I've never really sewed before. But honestly, I kinda failed. This 100% is my own fault, but I totally misjudged the length I needed, then went too far with the thread (in order to cover that big hole) and ran out of room for the final knot. I tried going back out but I kept making new holes. So I just cut the end and Krazy Glued the thread to itself. I don't know what I'm doing but it only has to hold for an hour! ;)

I'm sure I've learned this in 8th grade "home economics" but that was 37 years ago. However I failed it on purpose because I wanted to take shop class and mom wouldn't let me. In the last 10-20 years I've just been putting the needle in and going AROUND the hole.. in side a, over the top and into side A again and I never understood why it never worked. LOL. I kinda knew how to tie the beginning and end off but that wasn't great either. Watching your video I finally learned how to do it right! It was for my favorite pants and I have permanently "shut off the air conditioning" !! (It was a 1-1/2" hole along the seem in the lower thigh... it started out as a 3/4 hole lol).

I was taught stitching in school ad part of life skills course. But it was in 9th standard. Now here I'm again learning the basics.
Followed the video but messed up in the end. My thread was short for the hole. 😅

Did this to my favorite black shorts, which were COVERED in holes, and none of these stitches have moved. Even after washing.
I got my favorite lazy-time shorts back. They have deep af pockets.

I am old enough to look like maybe “home ec” was a class offered to me in school.. as an almost 30 year old millennial who didn’t have the option- THANK YOU for this. Have a nice breast cancer awareness shirt that I bought with a hole in the seam and sadly it was the last one in my size so I either needed to scrap it or find a new one. I am happy that I can salvage it and wear it with pride 💓

Had a hole in my pants lol, my mom was tired so i wanted to do it myself and as a man i felt proud. I showed it to her after she said i probably did it wrong (which i probably did) and she said she’ll check it out LOL. But in my defense it is durable since i tried pulling them apart a little bit and it didn’t budge. Thanks for the tutorial❤
