My son visited a relative for a few months in China some months ago. I'll never forget how he said he was so tired of hearing people spit and snort. He said both the men and women did it. He was so happy to return to the US. Said he always appreciated his country but after living over there, he said he never wants to return. He was glad he came back before Covid-19 hit.
They carried it all over into USA. I was raised in NYC down by Chinatown, I saw all of that. Disgusting. Knocking people over, snots etc. The Japanese are immaculate. Koreans too I believe.

Once I was flying from Thailand to China. The airplane already started landing so everybody was told to remain at their seats, belts fastened. Next to me was a Chinese women and her kid. Her kid suddenly said he wants to pee. So what did she do? She grabbed a plastic bag and asked her kid to pee into the bag, right there, right next to me. Of course after the peeing she just closed the bag, and threw the bag of pee below the seat in front of her. PS: it wasn't their first time flying because when they boarded the mom asked her kid if he's already used to flying since they've flew so many times already! :) I was shook.
I'm interested if you're the mother and your kid is raring to go and can't wait ,while the plane is beginning to land,so toilet can't be used. .....what are u going to do? Let's say the kid is 4 years old. I'd like to listen what u say about this matter.

I've seen and experienced everything you mentioned when I visited China. When I lived in Japan and Korea, both my Japanese and Korean friends told me that the Chinese have been like this throughout history.

I am a Chinese that lived in one of the biggest cities in China, and I am very sorry for the behaviour of the people. I think the main reason is because most people are not educated that well and since we don’t have RUclips or other sites for is the know what’s happening in the outside world, we have no idea of what are the things we should or should not do. On the 3rd time I blocked his expectorate by swatting him in the face with a magazine. Generally the people just walk in the roads surrounded by traffic, when I would ask them why the usually replied - we have only had cars 20 years. Would it take you 20 years to learn to avoid danger? It's always interesting to me what other cultures do that would shock us and vice versa. I used to live in Austria and people would scratch their butts in public like it was no big thing. My jaw practically dropped every time it happened but I think picking your nose takes the cake. Also I currently live in Costa Rica and men pee in public all the time. I saw a guy do that once and he works in one of the local grocery stores so I stopped shopping there because I'm so grossed out by the thought of him going from one activity to the other and cross-cotaminating food. He sometimes refused to eat at restaurants with mainland colleagues lol. i always wondered why do they do that? slurping and burping i mean. to them it may seem normal or mean "food is good" and not rude at all, but to westerners it could be quite a culture shock ;)

@Gregory Dobrev I had lived in China for around 15 years. And I have not seen a single bat on a dish. Believe or not, I reckon eating a bat is not a common stuff in China. Anyway, it's based on my personal experience. Don't just assume all Chinese have this weird appetite.

I've just subscribed to your channel after having found it by way of a Serpentza video. I've always had an interest in China and that intensified a year and a half ago after finding The Food Ranger's channel which in turn led to finding Serpentza and now you. It also led to me beginning to learn Mandarin which I started about 9 months ago with the hope of one day visiting China. I'm enjoying your videos but I have to say that both yours and Serpentza's have given me a a whole different view of the people than I got from Food Ranger. In my opinion that is a good thing and I wasn't naive enough before to believe that Chinese people were somehow better than Americans. I may have to hide your videos from my wife however, if she got a whiff of this video she may never agree to travel there. LOL Keep up the good videos!
Sneezing is involuntarily, but not covering your mouth and nose isn't. It doesn't matter if they do it loud, but not covering their mouth is just a bad habit that spreads disease
Kids peeing in public is kind of normal in 3rd world Asian countries, its even worse in the Philippines as women will pull their kids pants down in the middle of the street in Manila and tell the kid to pee. There are even graffiti everywhere that says "don't pee here" (Bawal Umihi Dito). A lot of the issues you are talking about is because many people in the cities in China come from the provinces for jobs and bring a total lack of civilized behavior with them. Don't forget that all the "culture" in China has been destroyed by the CCP and the only thing left is people who care only about themselves, which is indicative of a communist country.

I grew up in a city in ohio and there was a Chinese restaurant next door to a small grocery store. The people from the restaurant got caught stealing old meat and vegetables out of the grocery store's dumpster. I've never eaten at a Chinese restaurant since...
A popular, well liked Chinese restaurant in Brunswick, Maine got caught catching seagulls out back by the dumpsters and serving them as chicken. This was back in the 90s. State health inspection reports are published publicly here, and considering the ratio of restaurants in demographically very white Maine, a disproportionate majority of them are Asian restaurants, especially with the most severe and dangerous violations.

If I take a walk downtown where I live in Norway it is not uncommon to see someone spit on the street, especially common if you use snus (a type of tobacco you put under your lip). I find the American tradition of walking inside homes with shoes on more disgusting.

I spent 4 months in an Airbnb of a Chinese guy, the dude NEVER washed or cleaned the mop for years and passed it in the floor everyday, I noticed late and I got and bacterial infection in my skin and doctor said if this would have continue to spread I would have lost a finger or my foot. I HAD yo go to China twice for work... i nearly puked at a dinner seeing the food on people tables.. i made an excuse and left... i LIVED on McDs ENTIRE TIME. I left that job soley because they wanted me to go for 3 months and i literally went to my office and typed up my resignation letter within 10 minutes.
A Chinese man had a restaurant in Mexico, he was capturing all the street dogs and cooking them. True story was even in the news. Of course people who dined there didn’t have a clue.
Taking shoes off and put feet on the chair in the restaurants? I don’t recall any in my memory. Instead of stinky feet, I remember a lot of stinky smell on subway train due to heavy sweat and poor personal hygiene. I do remember seeing people from all over the world take their shoes off on the international flights. An American doctor said that it is very good for the lung when people sneeze freely. Making noise is one thing. Not covering sneeze is another. Even in the US, I have seen that too many people don’t cover their sneeze. Yux! Some Chinese people do clear their throat loudly or picking noses in public because CCP allows it (just kidding). Well you can still blame it on CCP because people were not educated healthcare wise on how they should properly take care of their bodies. I think Japanese teaches manners in the school - It is believed that the goal for the first 3 years of school is not to judge the child’s knowledge or learning, but to establish good manners and to develop their character. Regarding going to bathroom everywhere, I have noticed very few people do it in the US park even though the bathroom was less than 200 feet away. Yeah I agree that bathroom every where in the cities, spiting and snorting are bad. In China, school education in tier 1 or tier 2 cities are better than the lower tiers, but, there is still a lot of room for improvement as a whole.
I my mother in law had a Chinese neighbor that had a 5 gallon bucket that the family shit in, then they would put it in their garden! It is deplorable. She lived in Chicago and called the cops several times but nothing was done! Couldn't even open the windows for fresh air!

Lo and behold a very expensive BMW, Cadillac, SUV of all types would show up in the lane next to mine. Sitting behind the wheel of this vehicle is a very expensively dressed woman gayly cruising along while picking her nose and eating her own goobers. Or she would wipe the really sticky ones behind the steering wheel or any convenient location close to the driver cockpit, including on the seat if she was wearing a pant suit. These were not Chinese women, they were White and very Anglo-Saxon. If you don't believe me take a trip to Toronto and see for yourself. Do the morning and afternoon commute.

3 weeks ago in France, I were sitting in the waiting hall with 6/7 patients for the doctor. Then she came and SNEEZED as loud as she could without any hand, any arm to protect her mouth. That happened in France with A DOCTOR in the waiting hall !!!!! I'm aware that a number of Chinese should be more educated and the government must do something for it. Nope, it’s ingrained in their culture for decades if not centuries. They’ve been warned by the Western world to improve, but they continue to see nothing wrong with their filthy behaviors. I use to travel for to Shanghai and other province in China for weeks at a time. I wanted to try their KFC for lunch got in line. Couple ahead of me in front of the line, next thing I heard front door open a crowd came in and they started lining up behind me. Once I took one step forward they take few steps closers. Before my time to order it kinda stalled looking at the menu to see what should I get. Before I even say something couple ppl got cashier ordering. I made a comment saying excuse me they all pretend they don't understand me or hear me. Me being nice I let them order first. After the next person try to do the same I stop her and place in my order fast without even remember what I ordered. The following day we went out to a fancy dinner place for steakhouse and they had a salad bar. I waited until no one at the bar I went up and made myself a salad plate, half way down the bar two ladies in their mid or late 20's dressed nice with expenses bag with high heels in cuts front of me and started to fill their plate with all kinda vegetables, fruits and top it off with white rice. Each of their plates can feed a table of ppl. Rest of my trip in Shanghai I realized that how they do things in china. Until now when you talk about picking noise next time you see a asain guy look at their little pinky. They are super long and some have both side pinky long even the thumb. I see how they use them, it little kung-fu fighting art of noise picking. It take many many years of training. Seeing your clip brought back memories. Thank you giving me a good laugh.

Once I was flying from Thailand to China. The airplane already started landing so everybody was told to remain at their seats, belts fastened. Next to me was a Chinese women and her kid. Her kid suddenly said he wants to pee. So what did she do? She grabbed a plastic bag and asked her kid to pee into the bag, right there, right next to me. Of course after the peeing she just closed the bag, and threw the bag of pee below the seat in front of her. PS: it wasn't their first time flying because when they boarded the mom asked her kid if he's already used to flying since they've flew so many times already! :) I was shook.

I recall a young man sitting opposite my partner in her 60's on a nee high speed train, 3 times he sneezed directly into her face. On the 3rd time I blocked his expectorate by swatting him in the face with a magazine. It's always interesting to me what other cultures do that would shock us and vice versa. I used to live in Austria and people would scratch their butts in public like it was no big thing. My jaw practically dropped every time it happened but I think picking your nose takes the cake. Also I currently live in Costa Rica and men pee in public all the time. I've always had an interest in China and that intensified a year and a half ago after finding The Food Ranger's channel which in turn led to finding Serpentza and now you. It also led to me beginning to learn Mandarin which I started about 9 months ago with the hope of one day visiting China. I'm enjoying your videos but I have to say that both yours and Serpentza's have given me a a whole different view of the people than I got from Food Ranger. In my opinion that is a good thing and I wasn't naive enough before to believe that Chinese people were somehow better than Americans. Kids peeing in public is kind of normal in 3rd world Asian countries, its even worse in the Philippines as women will pull their kids pants down in the middle of the street in Manila and tell the kid to pee. A lot of the issues you are talking about is because many people in the cities in China come from the provinces for jobs and bring a total lack of civilized behavior with them. Taking shoes off and put feet on the chair in the restaurants? I don’t recall any in my memory. Instead of stinky feet, I remember a lot of stinky smell on subway train due to heavy sweat and poor personal hygiene. I do remember seeing people from all over the world take their shoes off on the international flights. An American doctor said that it is very good for the lung when people sneeze freely. Making noise is one thing. Not covering sneeze is another. Even in the US, I have seen that too many people don’t cover their sneeze. Yux! Some Chinese people do clear their throat loudly or picking noses in public because CCP allows it (just kidding). Well you can still blame it on CCP because people were not educated healthcare wise on how they should properly take care of their bodies. I think Japanese teaches manners in the school - It is believed that the goal for the first 3 years of school is not to judge the child’s knowledge or learning, but to establish good manners and to develop their character. Regarding going to bathroom everywhere, I have noticed very few people do it in the US park even though the bathroom was less than 200 feet away. Yeah I agree that bathroom every where in the cities, spiting and snorting are bad. In China, school education in tier 1 or tier 2 cities are better than the lower tiers, but, there is still a lot of room for improvement as a whole.
Think of this when eating in Chinese restaurant. Have a nice meal.

I my mother in law had a Chinese neighbor that had a 5 gallon bucket that the family shit in, then they would put it in their garden! It is deplorable. She lived in Chicago and called the cops several times but nothing was done! Couldn't even open the windows for fresh air!

I worked for 50 years in the big cities of eastern Canada. Commuting to and from work every morning and every night. Lo and behold a very expensive BMW, Cadillac, SUV of all types would show up in the lane next to mine. Sitting behind the wheel of this vehicle is a very expensively dressed woman gayly cruising along while picking her nose and eating her own goobers. Or she would wipe the really sticky ones behind the steering wheel or any convenient location close to the driver cockpit, including on the seat if she was wearing a pant suit. These were not Chinese women, they were White and very Anglo-Saxon. If you don't believe me take a trip to Toronto and see for yourself. Do the morning and afternoon commute.

I live in Canada, i see a lot of very disrespectful and disappointing things, just like youve experienced. And I understand, because different people have different habits, I dont judge them cuz they are not hurting the world, they are not attacking people, I dont like it, and I would keep walking.

Just like the COVID-19, tons of people in western world have showed their evil sides, attacking China and blame all to China instead of work together and fight the virus. Things happen sometime, if you are responsible person, you would want to stay home and wear mask when out, protect yourself and others, and reduce the times going out, help the health care system and your country. My grandma who was born in WWII and never received education, often punish me for miss behavior like threw garbage on the street.And when I'm speaking loud in public she immediately make the gesture of silence. When I squatting while waiting a bus,she will tell me to grow a backbone.

3 weeks ago in France, I were sitting in the waiting hall with 6/7 patients for the doctor. Then she came and SNEEZED as loud as she could without any hand, any arm to protect her mouth. That happened in France with A DOCTOR in the waiting hall !!!!! I'm aware that a number of Chinese should be more educated and the government must do something for it. Though remember it's a population of 1 billion 400millions, there're still many poor people in the country. It's not that easy to have everyone well educated. It takes time. 中国加油。

Like my father, he never went to school, he was starved when he’s little and suffering from poverty for long time.
When I was able to get better education, I found there was a huge communication gap between us. He feels offended when I say “ Papa, please don’t make such loud sounds when eating.” He would be like”stop being superior in front of your old man.”

I use to travel for to Shanghai and other province in China for weeks at a time. I wanted to try their KFC for lunch got in line. Couple ahead of me in front of the line, next thing I heard front door open a crowd came in and they started lining up behind me. Once I took one step forward they take few steps closers. Before my time to order it kinda stalled looking at the menu to see what should I get. Before I even say something couple ppl got cashier ordering. I made a comment saying excuse me they all pretend they don't understand me or hear me. Me being nice I let them order first. After the next person try to do the same I stop her and place in my order fast without even remember what I ordered. The following day we went out to a fancy dinner place for steakhouse and they had a salad bar. I waited until no one at the bar I went up and made myself a salad plate, half way down the bar two ladies in their mid or late 20's dressed nice with expenses bag with high heels in cuts front of me and started to fill their plate with all kinda vegetables, fruits and top it off with white rice. Each of their plates can feed a table of ppl. Rest of my trip in Shanghai I realized that how they do things in china. Until now when you talk about picking noise next time you see a asain guy look at their little pinky. They are super long and some have both side pinky long even the thumb. I see how they use them, it little kung-fu fighting art of noise picking. It take many many years of training. Seeing your clip brought back memories. Thank you giving me a good laugh.

I’m curious to know what the proper term is for Americans who are white, or if in modern times it is a dated term to refer to Americans regardless of ancestry? I’m personally for the idea of calling all ethnicities American if they’re born there.

Thank you for your thorough explanation of the two sides of the discussion. It’s weird because now I agree with both somehow. But like you said, it’s relative. It depends on what someone associates the word “American” with. For someone it can bring up the image of a Caucasian person with light skin and blue eyes, while another can associate it with the native peoples who were there first. Interesting.
