I stayed at that hotel right before the Olympics. I applaud all the staff, from the Taiwanese to the Europeans. They had a very accommodating Portuguese bartender. The hotel, obviously, suffered some difficulties due to the COVID economic downturn; but is making a valiant resurgence. The mainlander can just go to other hotels and try his antics there.

For example sometimes pro-Taiwan people against the CPC/CCP refer to mainland China as West Taiwan....saying Mainland Taiwan might be used to also convey that political sentiment. This goes back to the fact Taiwan (KMT, Chian Kai-shek, etc) claim to be the legitimate government of all China including mainland.

BTW, when I stayed there back in the late spring, most of the guests were NOT mainlanders.
