Hi! Micans tip: the one that isn’t growing much… repot into something plastic with soil or glass with pon. They are super thirsty and anything with clay dries out too quickly. Love your collection!
I will change the soil in my Micans bc they are definitely not thriving -although I think I give them enough water. I’ll watch watering more closely. Thank you for your suggestions.
Love these ranking videos and updates from plant hauls. We can all learn from each other. I made friends with plant shop owner. I sell him my babies. It makes it fun.
@@spacecaseandherplants golden goddes philo! Philodendron melano, Gigas, I’m dying for a gabby philodondren! Ughh absolutely gorgeous color 💜 oh and little Phil philodondren is a super cute one to add to any collection 🥰🥰
Seen thar selloum in tropical outdoor gardens where it looks good, but I agree, it’s a big sprawling plant for your home, and I would not have the space. Love my squamiferum 🌿💚
Thank you so much for watching! I appreciate the feedback. I'm always trying not to talk so much at the beginning of the video and just get right to the plants!
I have what I jokingly call a "sibling selloum" It's 30-31 years old now, had it literally my entire life. It's been in all sorts of lighting and it's never seemed to skip a beat. It's in an east facing window currently and loving life. The issue you're having doesn't seem like its a light issue, but a watering issue IMO. I also tied the leaves to a pole and its standing tall. ( almost 5'ish ) so its more vertical and taking up less of a radius. Give it a better watering routine ( I don't let it dry out completely, maybe 3/4 the way dry ) and hit it with some good fertilizer, it'll bounce back with vigor in no time! It just may become your favorite lol They're super resilient plants. Good luck!
the selloum looks like it’s craving light i completely agree with you! how close to a window or grow light do you have it? don’t wanna burn it but she can’t take some LIGHT
I have the poor thing in such a low light situation. I did have it in a brighter spot before and it got burned. I'll definitely try moving it to a brighter window and see if that helps. Thanks for the tip!
Split leaf philodendron is the last species of philodendron I bought. I intend to tie it up to a fence post like I do with monstera so it doesn't grow out of control. I have plenty of velcro tape. Just regular velcro they had in Lowe's. This way I intend to keep it more vertical and save some space.
I found your videos through bob cee actually! Not enough ppl talk about it! It's such an easy grower for me as well! My top three would also be Bob cee, jerry Horne, and mayoi, with camposportaonum and billietiae as honorable mentions
If you want real faun pot some of green heart leaf, some Brasil, and some lemon lime together. I filled in empty pot with all three. The leaves are so fun to watch. Then the pot in summer can't wait.
I have always loved my jungle boogie. But when I went to purchase mine...it was actually called a philodendron tiger tooth (hence the jagged shaped leaves)
The selloum is actually not a philodendron; it's a thaumatophyllum bipinnatifidum! It's been on my wishlist for a good minute now, but I just have no space for one!
I figured if I find the right balance between chunky mix and water retention philodendron has better chance. For me the easiest way to achieve this is mixing bark with Miracle-Gro where bark takes most of the space and Miracle-Gro fills the gaps in between. I don't have the exact proportion because I do it by feel but it works well. Than I use some liquid fertilizer whenever the force tells me to.
I do pretty much the same thing! I use the miracle gro house plant mix and the miracle gro orchid mix and just kind of mix them together. Except the fertilizer. I'm still very nervous to use fertilizer regularly
@spacecaseandherplants I don't know anything about fertilizers. I just follow directions on the bottle. So far haven't burned anything. I use plenty of slow release in the summer when most plants are outside. I know the main concern is burning plant's roots but fertilizer gets so diluted, there isn't much to worry about. I don't want to bother myself with fertilizer but plants do so much better I just feel like if I don't give them food they are on starvation diet😄😄😄
Hello there, just came across your Channel today and I enjoy your content. I know that I'm seeing this three months after but maybe your plants can benefit from Superthrive plant vitamins. I had a few plants that were just stagnant and after applying the Superthrive they really took off. So I water all my plants with it and I am so happy with the growth and well being of my plants. Blessings.
Hi! I have just recently “met” you and after this clip, I decided to subscribe. I absolutely love philodendrons and have 13 of your 17, and about 5 other types. I have too many questions to put down here! I wish we could have tea together and chat 😊! My experience with my small selloums is frustrating bc their leaves keep turning yellow and dying. However, I have a huge one that’s about 35-40 years old, and she’s doing well. I’m hoping the smaller ones, three of them -same size as yours- will catch up. I really love them. One general observation… my heart leaf philodendron and Brasil don’t look nearly as beautiful and vibrant as yours; their leaves are much smaller. My beloved(!!!!!!) Micans are mostly bald on top and the leaves on the vines are small. The leaves first turn a beautiful orange - then fall off. 😩 Your collection is absolutely gorgeous and I wish I knew what I need to do to make my collection look like yours. Congratulations!!!😮
Thank you so much for this comment! I'm sure that 35-year-old philodendron is beautiful! You know I have a couple of micans. One of them does really well and the other one just struggles all the time. It always has really small leaves and is completely bald on top as well 🤷
My philo selloum has been outside for months now bc it’s too big and I literally do nothing with it😂 it’s in deep need of a repot and I skip watering way too often but it’s unkillable I’m thinking of getting rid of it
My Top is my ROF - not sure if it’s light dependent but mine is a Florida patio plant getting indirect sun, it’s well variegated and when the leaves harden the variegation pops out more instead of disappearing. Do you supplement indoor light w any grow lights? Could help ? My bottom is fuzzy petiole. I bought it v young looks nicer small in my opinion the leaves get more plain as they grow and not as fuzzy as I hoped! I feel catfished/plantfished.
Plantfished!! 🤣🤣 I don't supplement light and I actually keep moving away from the light because I thought it would be too intense but maybe I should increase the light! I'll give it a shot
I have not! I have tons of crispy tips and leaves just dying left and right. I thought it was going to be really easy but it's been pretty tricky for me!

I love your attitude about the plants. So many plant collectors take everything so serious.
At the end of the day they are just plants. Thank you so much for watching!
Love your top 17/18 lol. I too love my Jungle Boogie, rio, brasil, heart leaf.
Jungle boogie is so underrated!

Yeah it definitely looks like a plant that would be good in an outdoor garden!

That is such a great idea!! I think I'm actually going to take some propagations today to try that out. Thanks for the idea!

I am so bad at fertilizing my plants 🙈 if it's easy to use I'll look into, it thanks for the tip!
@@spacecaseandherplants you're very welcome and it's very easy. Just add it to your fertilizer water, it's basically vitamins for your plants.
