I’m looking at one of these gorgeous babies to add to my lil zoo and was having a hard time finding good resources for information on them, but this video was super clear and very informative! I appreciate it!

My Sonoran girl is my first reptile. She has been such a joy to own, seems to like to watch us move around the room, and enjoys her exploration time. As she continues to mature I see more orange and even some salmon-y pink colorations coming in! Thanks for making a video on these guys!

I saw a orange with black squares down its back. I only saw the last 12-16 inchs.

Absolutely fantastic video on an amazing species. Lots of ecologically considerate and pertinent information. My only critique is that specific and subspecific epithets (the species and subspecies names) should never be capitalized when written. Its a relatively minor mistake, but it's one of those kinda pedantic things that's very noticable and oddly distracting.

They make great pets unless your landlord suffers from snake-phobia, which mine did.

That's a nice looking gopher snake. I think the bulls are my favourite of the pituophus family.
I guess for suggestions: Aesculapian snake, king rat snake, bismarck ringed python.

My favorite is the sonoran gopher snake I think they make excellent beginner pets My Christmas mountain sonoran gopher is more of a beige white color that I got from summer snakes?

That’s interesting. The most Xmas ones I’ve seen come from only a couple of lines including forks stuff and they’re all high yellow and orange. A high white would be cool

Usually. Takes a couple years but they tend to brighten at maturity
