quick tip, if you have been pulled into the air by sigma already, it is NOT too late for sound barrier. lucio is programmed as such that if an ability is forcing him to be in the air, sound barrier will trigger on the air.

I tested and it almost felt faster in ult and skipped animation. Most likely not just felt fast
@@RauKnowsOW not faster. Lucios beat requires impact with any ground which in sigma ult is essentially considered in place. You can get the same result by dropping the beat from a lower elevation onto a higher elevation using the small hop you get when you ult as as Lucio

I was doing a sigma 1v1 on circuit Royale and the sigma used his ult and I rocked him out of it and I said that is the definition of a sigma diff.
What if the universe started singing to you, but the roadhog you lifted throws a hook at you
Ive been doin that all day got to s2 from s7 today
Try shooting your shield in the air before Ulting and try to stay behind it, or if you can play a corner then flux you can flux them behind cover if you aren’t far away
There's some good tips in thread already but you can pressure a quick ult after he hooks. It's not a perfect strat, if they stacked counters to you, but it's not common for a team to pick just against Sigma.
I never thought of that. Whenever I’m hog and sigma ults me, I pop my heal bc I take 50% less damage and it has worked so far
I PRESENT TO YOU THE BARRIER
incredible for first blocking any debufs and secondly for blocking Ults but primarily if you're playing against a roadhog to either block his grapple or get out of a grapple just rush him with a threatening look in your eyes even throw big ass rock at him if he isn't looking at you and then just pop your barrier right in front of him works 80% of the times but if however doesn't work and you get grappled pop your black hole and retreat if your black hole isn't big enough to worth it throw your big ass rock at him and if he is getting healed then go for your shield remember to get as far as possible from him and his dps
Also a very good tip for countering roadhogs ult if you suspect a roadhog is going to use his ult place your shield behind you (you can also use this strategy if it's already doing it) then use your black hole and max charge it be VERY careful because when its fully charged you'll need to RUN FOR YOUR LIFE if roadhog still has his grapple it can easily cancel your black hole and your heals with it so run fast as fuck to your shield and stay behind it spamming the recall button your shield is more likely end up either broke or very severely damaged but that doesn't matter because YOU ARE NOW A GOD and can easily kill roadhog bitch slapping him with your big ass rock whenever he even has the idea of going for his heal

I can confirm Sombra is his biggest counter as whenever I go as her I destroy him completely but 1 second lager I then die to everyone else

A true Sigma has no weaknesses.
If you want to counter Sigma directly, go for Doomfist or Winston. Winston can ignore the shield and the black hole with his primary fire, and dodge the boulder with his shield, and Doomfist can punch right through Sigma's defenses

I realised you can use the sunk cost fallacy as a overwatch tactic from this video.
Sunken cost apply to Overwatch especially for ults. People feel obligated to get value from ults so you can normally catch them slipping when they pop a bad one
Meanwhile me playing Sigma ignoring all these tips and prioritizing my own survival eventually ending up in a 1v5 on obj and wondering how my whole team died

kiriko also works well against sigma ult, the invincibility suzu has gotten me out of that and even dva bomb!
I’m surprised you didn’t mention Symmetra, especially in the current patch. She can quickly charge her beam on his barrier and then start beaming him down, and the only thing he can do is try to rock her. But her beam is quite long, so if you have a little distance you can just dodge it. His little vortex ability can’t do shit against her either!
I also love playing Reinhardt into Sigma because he just bodies the man and there’s literally nothing he can do about it lol

As a sigma main, I can tell you this, it's funny when tracers try and 1v1 you, when they try and zip past your shield and you're already on the other side after they zip, rock ball the the face
nothing feels cooler than playing bap and completely negating a potential teamkill using immortality and burst

Sombra being a sigma counter is so ironic
Another good dps choice is symettra. Slipping a portal right past his shield allows for turrets, you and your team mates to get past his portal defense shield and take him out from behind. It doesn’t always work but when it does it works well for me.

What I do is be reaper, wraith through the boulder, melee during the ability that eats projectiles and walk through the barrier.
I wouldn’t recommend using wraith prior to escape. Always save for escape and just dodge the rock
Brig is also good against him, as she can shield each of his primary shots, and then swing in between the next one.
One tip, when sigma is ulting and hes not yet put his circle ult thing, you can still CC him to cancel his ult

Hack actually can cancel every single one of his abilities, though cancelling the rock throw needs good timing
Wierdly I played brilliantly against Winston and Baptiste today, smoked em as Sigma
I just wanna point out how funny it is that the best way to counter some tanks is just to ignore the tanks
as a mercy main, i always try to stay with sigma whenever i have one on my team because i always enjoy watching my dad play sigma :)

Yes that’s the general rule of Overwatch 2 is the tanks are much harder to kill if the supports are alive. That’s why damage isn’t an important stat on leaderboard anymore because sometimes high damage just means they targeted the tank too much which feeds enemy support ults
Echo is terrifying to go up against playing as sigma, also if a Winston isn’t gonna work in a game you can go with Zarya
The one thing that scares me as a sigma main... symmetra and ramattra
Always found reinhardt to be a good counter against sigma since his shield nullifies his boulder, and he can’t eat up the hammer swings with his black hole
also lucio’s boop breaks his rock
These are such pedestrian examples. Sigma is a beast in the mid range, but long he suffers greatly. Any character that can cause stun or fire from long range is incredibly effective against him.
Reaper for dps to me is a good counter as well since he can ignore the boulder with fade and his high damage can make quick work of Sigma as long as u don't feed his black hole and u can also ignore his ultimate with fade as well

Sigma can also be slept out of the ult so Ana is a pretty great choice, not only saves your team but it ends the ult early so they have less air time that leaves them vulnerable
Something i do against Winstons is after he dives past me, i put up the barrier between him and his own supports to cut off healing to him if they aren't playing lucio. If they are going Lucio i try to focus him first with the accretion and orbs combo. Then help kill Winston.
I've played so much sigma I can usually just win against these matchups

For sigma vs sigma confrontations, if the enemy sigma is using succ, (you know, absorb all projectiles, convert them to health) you can throw rock at him and it will still connect and stun him out of it.
I used a sound barrier against a sigma ultimate and I felt like the best lucio player to ever exist for approximately 8 seconds.

The problem with baptise is that 90% of the players don’t know when to throw the immortality field or knowing that they have this ability
Imagine your any hero but a tank and see a fucking asteroid going your direction about to hit your face
Ana is also a good counter only if you hit the sleep dart during his ult or Rock throw
Symetra is also good because she can charge out of his barrier and melt him down because he can't absorb your beam
Sigma’s biggest strength is his ability to throw around his weight as a tank and draw the enemy dps…oddly enough, the most effective means of dealing with him, is by being able to simply not attack him
I would say you need to crush him, go rein and force his attention.
I noticed that "winton" in the subtitles
You can survive his ikr if you use Genji and use his dash like a split second before you hit the ground
I’ve found Moira to be highly effective here. She’s got the mobility to avoid Sigma’s attacks or just pass him entirely, her orbs go through his shield, and phasing right before the slam completely negates whatever damage his Ultimate might’ve done.
i like how now most tanks are so busted half the counter play is just kill their entire team first
i once saved my entire team as lucio from sigmas ult. most of them were critical and if i didn't have ult we'd have lost

Orisa spear is best counter vs sigma ult. Especially if you can nail him into a fall. Will result in an instant hero change lol

I would say the best tanks to deal with sig are rein and Zaray. Sig can just rock Winston and leave bubble, sig can't stop the constant battering of rein.
Hog is somewhat a good counter to a sigma by himself

Imo widow and ana would be the best counter for sigma, dude is slow so easy target, his tiny footballs don't go so far so a sniper can easily take him down
Barriers shut down widow unless your team spams them
I would say for dps, if you are a higher level genji with a lower time to kill, then he could be a counter, but if he throws his rock, you're probably done for, but supports like zen and ana are perfect targets for genji, so if those two are the supports on the other team, I would say play genji
For the sigma mains after baptist throws down his immortality field you can go for the tank or any squishy and go directly underneath them and slam them on your head so they don’t get affected by the immortality field. FYI it’s a little tricky to do so practice a little first

As a Sigma main, any laser type projectile is counter to Sigma as he can't absorb it. Ana is a good counter because of his big hitbox.

quick tip : if you get cought in sigma's ult while you play baptiste throw your immortality before you get slammed so nobody will destroy it and you have more time to heal your teammates

This guys answer to every counter is dive support with tank, sombra hack for dps, sleep dart or boop for support.
You should check some of the other vids. Most tanks suck at helping out their back line against dive. Like your Reinhardt on low ground and your Ana high ground, what’s rein gonna do
