Agree.. it has haunted me too and I have followed more cases than I care to remember thru the years.. Perhaps because he was LE and USA or someone Susana might have dropped her guard for even for an instant~he is a disgrace to LE and armed forces. God is love +

Sad that the family can't forgive. Now they will live with unhappiness inside of them. You should always forgive but that doesn't mean you have to like him, and you can punish him even if it's physical because he has to be punished for his crime.

Forgiveness is accepting a choice but not accepting a behavior. Forgiveness does try to fight out why people did it or why they made that choice. Its releasing the thought of why and understand what were they thinking.
Example A woman cheats on me i have to accept that choice even though it hurts. So i got to release the thought on why she did it to move on. Yet that does not mean i have to accept her behavior by staying with her or giving her another chance. You don't have to let someone in your life to forgive a person.
It is tragic. However, the family must forgive order to be forgiven.
