Great info here, men. I thank you. I went through the civilian commercial pilot school, and heli. I would tell my Grandsons to go out and fly Cessnas 5 or 10 hours to prepare for WOFT application. And to take 1 on 1 ground schools also. Do it.
Thanks guys. I'm 17 right now and I got a 99 on the ASFAB so I am feeling a little pressured to do well on this. I want to get the SIFT finished before the summer so I can work on my LORs. Green Baggers You guys did help out a lot. I really appreciate it. I am currently in AIT, and am still building my WOFT packet, as my GT score is one point under what it needs to be. I will be still trying to get what I can once I get to my unit, but, as of right now, I am still doing not too bad. Thank you again for all your help!

Good 2 part series, with great insight. Thanks for putting this out gents. For anyone else looking to help with math and English I strongly recommend the high school math and verbal section on march2success.com. I used that and various RUclips videos to get an 82 on my AFCT (ASVAB). From what my buddy was saying, who has a WOCS school date to be a 153A, the asvab and sift math sections are very similar. Thanks again!

I hope y'all are doing well and I don't know if you've made it to the field yet but thanks to your videos I am well on my way through the process. I have a question though. I know it seems like an asinine question but any input would be appreciated. Thank you
Hey man, quick question. How are Co-pilot Gunners and Pilots selected in the 64 course. Do you learn both jobs and it becomes a seniority thing, do you rotate out, so one week the gunner flies and so on? Or is it something you're assigned in school and you stick to your job, similar to Navy Pilots and Naval Flight Officers? Just wondering, thanks!
Jon Owens you will learn both positions in school. Both have to be pilots and it is my understanding that the senior of the two pilots will typically fly once you get out to your units. However, it boils down to what the Pilot in Command decides to do. But you will do both.
Hey I was curious for the guy who came from the Navy. Did you want to be in the Army or did you just want to fly? Also how did you explain why you wanted to do this to your CO?
Try to retake the ASVAB if you can, get it even higher, I know 110 is minimum but everyone goes minimum, and 120 isn’t that far off, try for at least 130 GT
There’s a newer sift book that’s out. I got it on post at ft bliss, goes over sections with time limits and breaks everything down. Putting in my packet soon, going from civilian to flight . My recruiter got in touch with a board member at Knox and talked to him for a while , Gave me a lot of information that helped
What is the hearing requirement? I'm a prior service veteran with some hearing loss and tinnitus in my right ear. Is this something I should be worried about?

You will need a senior Warrant Aviator recommendation, which means you will have to call Army Aviation units and request a sit down “interview” so they can get to know you and endorse you.
