Thank you, Jon for sharing this amazing live footage of one of my favorite White Heart songs. I stood amazed that this was a no rehearsal from the group. Each band member was amazing in their own right. I was so blessed that God has still blessed Ric with amazing strong vocals & his usual dance ability on stage that was always such a thrill to watch which added encouragement and inspiration to the viewer. The times back then were so exciting for us Christians being blessed with such great bands who loved the Lord, who set such a great example for us and with such great lyrics which greatly ministered to our hearts. We are now facing such hard times as we've all gotten older, but there is one sure thing that still remains and gives us renewed hope and an excitedness that can never be taken from us.....the return of Jesus Christ for His Bride!
Where were you guys back in 1981. If you were here in Bozeman, Billings i would have not had to go through what I had to. Buy the Grace of God, Billy Graham cam to town. LOVE YOU GUYS!.
I still listen to this on the way to and from work. Timeless music that I cherish!! Thank you brothers for taking that journey, and for letting us ride along with you!
Thank you for posting this video Jon! I love Freedom! I love White Heart! White Heart should do a reunion tour! You guys still got it going on! God bless you! 😊
Had the privilege to see and sing along these talented men this same song at GMA1996. I was so into it, when I open my eyes Rick was pointing at me with the mic. That was pretty cool!🖖🏾
I feel like this song just gets better and better as it moves along. It starts off slow and then right at the 4:55 mark Rick Florian raises it up a notch and the band immediately is in the zone and is simply unstoppable from that point onward. If you want to see a band enter into the "zone" this video is a perfect example of that taking place. I cannot think of a Christian rock band that does it any better than these guys do.
Thanks for posting this, Jon. I've never seen Whiteheart in concert, but "Freedom," "Tales of Wonder" and "Highlands" are among my favorite albums of all time. Even though this was 6-7 years ago, it's nice to see you guys performing together again.
Guys this is the good ol days!! You know when bands actually wrote and performed original music! The music today so different! Fifty groups perform the same worship song in the space of a year. It's tiring! It's boring! Come Rick you guys need to come back with some brand new material. Love this band!
Nearly saw these guys at Knott's Berry Farm back in 1992. The problem is that I was 13 years old and I was a fan of DC talk instead of whiteheart, so I ended up watching DC Talk on the other stage. Nothing against DC Talk by the way.. FYI this was during the days when DC Talk was simply doing rap, big difference between rap and whiteheart. Boy did I miss out!
Hey Jon, I met you a long time ago in Albuquerque and I remember that you were very kind and accessible, thank you for that. Plus your drumming is the bomb!
Whole-heartedly agree, and sadly so. One Christian station in town, and I more often turn it to good music instead of something completely wrapped in formula, and lacking "freedom." Cheers!
Greg .Shlapak yeah that's true and it's because Christian music has been infiltrated by non Christian people posing as Christian's I saw a pastor do a interesting look in to it and some of the band's actually said Yeah were not Christian's but we use the Christian band name to make money, one so called Christian lead singer got caught out trying to have his wife assassinated wow what a witness for God that is,and another guy said a Christian guy came up to him after a show and asked if he'd pray for him after a song really touched him and the lead sing said he felt weird because he didn't know how to pray because he's not a Christian and afterwards him and his band mate's laughed about it,I'm just saying be careful who you think is a Christian in the so called Christian music word ,rich mullins put it well when said once at a concert ,don't believe the song artists believe God's word that's the truth, many of us so called Christian music leaders don't know Jack, end of quote, take care and stay vigilant.
Sort of. Christian radio is missing this. The Dove Award/CCM/Christian pop label stuff is missing this. But there are a LOT of young, energetic, talented -- and loud -- Christian rock bands that get NO love, no awards, no airplay and barely make a living. And even when a label does sign them, the same few producers dilute their sound and sterilize them so that KLOVE, the Fish or Way-FM will play them. *snore*. Try Relentless Flood, Zahna (or her old band Ilia) and Embers in Ashes for starters -- these bands are GREAT live, too.
@@matthewwhite4008 I couldn't agree more... I cut baby Christian teeth on bands like Whiteheart in the 70's and 80's and they lack the conviction and energy found in these fine men... By God's grace we can reconnect via technology.... God Bless!!!
I believe White Heart lost access to their name in the US due to an expired trademark registration. They last played in Nashville as "a WH cover band". I think White Heart, the "charity" for injured military owns the rights now. It would explain how their last US reunion tour was cancelled at the last second as probably the charity asserted their trademark rights. So I don't think we will see anymore albums by the name. Someone will either have to come up with the $45k-$60k by Patreon, Indiegogo or some other online tool and help them with some alternate band name.
Notre Dame was a part of my stompin grounds, the area around the campus was part of my high school district. I'd be interested to know what school Rick went to.
I've been a White Heart fan for almost 30 years now. I listened to them a lot in my youth. I still think Rick Florian has the most amazing voice!
❤
This band was the soundtrack of my teen years! They helped this girl survive a rigid Christian school experience and still love Jesus in the end!
Man, even though it had been so long, Rick Florian still sounded amazing.
Their best Album in my books. My Dad's recent passing reminded me he loved this album when it came out.

John Knox rocks righteously!
this is the best White Heart album of all time.
First performance in 10 years, a song you didn't rehearse, and you guys still totally owned the stage in this clip.
Epic!! I saw you guys in the early 90's in Perth Australia. Love your drumming Jon!

Where were you guys back in 1981. If you were here in Bozeman, Billings i would have not had to go through what I had to. Buy the Grace of God, Billy Graham cam to town. LOVE YOU GUYS!.
Tommy Sims… probably my favorite bass player from that era! Or even now!

Are they Still about❤
So awesome 👏
Whiteheart ROCKS! We recently were able to interview Billy Smiley on Light Talk. What an honor!
Thanks so much for posting Jon! :) This song and respective album came along at a unique time period in my life ala 1989.
Dang they still rock 🤍
Timeless lyrics - so beautiful...
That was fabulous!!
Wow! Rocked the house and stole the show! No? Great band loved them since the 80's! ...and Ya, Jon Knox is the Best!!!
He was my favorite drummer during Whiteheart's prime. He rocked some pretty cool dreds back in the day.
White heart is to christian rock what journey was to secular. Omgosh the VOICE!!
excellent rendition of a fine song. Other live versions of this song you can skip.
Dude, really good stuff here. You & Simms brought the groove.
Written it is written I should worship the Lord thy God and only him
Hey Jon, I met you a long time ago in Albuquerque and I remember that you were very kind and accessible, thank you for that. Plus your drumming is the bomb!
Christian music is really missing talent and performance and Spirit like this.
Whole-heartedly agree, and sadly so. One Christian station in town, and I more often turn it to good music instead of something completely wrapped in formula, and lacking "freedom." Cheers!

Absolutely. It seems these new artist are just 3 chords and a chorus 7x.
Now kids, that's how you do it.
Freedom in Jesus Christ Amen 🙏
Whiteheart é Incrível e Rick Florian é um show a parte! Grande Banda!!!
Conheci a banda a pouco tempo, realmente fantástico...
Tremendos Músicos El Dream Team de esa época!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even though they got old, but it is still amazing!
Man, this guy can sing. Sounds like Axl Rose 8:09-8:12, but in reality, he's SO much better..

Real good

Only missing Chris on drums.
Who is doing anything like this these days?
buenas alabanza y bien por todos que podemos recordar toda esta bella musica
Just a little more delay and chorus on the vocal would have made it sound like the recording.
This is awesome !!Thanx for posting Jon. Any more word on the new project?
White heart got hooked on painpills
Not just Christian, but music in general is lacking talent, everything sounds too much alike now of days, I miss good music like this.
Listen to Demon Hunter they're a good Christian Band
Jon is Whiteheart still playing/recording together?
Jonh's going a bit overboard on drums & losing the rhythm
they dress like bums but music is good
white heart love all the Christian songs please share even soundtrack of all the songs
